Traveling back to the past to grab Caesar seems WAAAAAY out there for this more grounded franchise. The originals got really bonkers and weren’t mapped out ahead of time that’s why you got crazy plots like that. Hopefully those plots stay in the past.
Only thing I can think of is the next trilogy after this one starts like that. With the apes jumping in a ship and heading to space just ti end up in a blackhole that leads them to earth back in 2011 before it all began.
I think it's very unlikely they'll do backwards time travel. Forward "time travel" is already possible, as explained in the video. the next two movies will be Noah's story and the third trilogy will be Taylor's story.
When that guy started going into that I was thinking “I could work at screen crush”. He basically hit us with a somehow palpatine returned then just went with it.
Caesar = Moses, freeing his people from slavery (from the humans, enlightening them), parting the Red Sea (the avalanche in war) and leading them to the promise land, which he never gets to live in as he dies. Moses is also known as the law giver as he gives the Ten Commandments, similar to Caesar instilling his own commandments that the apes should follow.
Exactly, he never got to see the promised land And his people eventually pervert his words in historical fashion Looking forward to the series moving forward, I hope Caesar’s descendant basically is the nice ones that helped Heston in the original movie
Right. Caesar had two commandments: • Apes together string • Ape not kill ape Rakka knew and honored both. Proximus decided to ignore #2, to his detriment. Biblically, Noah came first, but ape-wise, Moses came first.
Agreed. Which is why I think that if this Kingdom trilogy continues to follow him, Noa will become a Joshua figure- the general who leads his people in a war to claim dominion over the world.
I have to disagree with your Christ-figure analysis. Caesar's arc, from being rescued in a basket/raised by the Rulers of the Land, and then leads his people out of bandage, but is unable to enter the promised land because of a personal failure - is Moses. No Jesus required.
If you think about it, Caesar is more Moses than anything. He liberated his people from bondage and took them to the promised land and unfortunately did not get to enjoy it.

Seems like a lot of us disliked the idea of a time traveling Caesar. These apes movies are more grounded than previous installments. This whole idea was not good. A time traveling zombie Cesar pulling a back to the future is a bad idea. And it doesn’t fit the more grounded tone these films have now. It would make more sense that the astronauts simply land and literally pull a remake of the first film.
I found this theory fascinating. This series has been pretty excellent so far. And I enjoyed the slightly different tone of Kingdom (War For is still the best IMO). I’m not a religious person, but I like the exploration of how would followers treat their god should he return. Nice job!

I remember watching the first film thinking ah look the space ship that's going to be important in probably the next film... 4 films later 13 years 2 kids 3 dogs and a load of waiting... nope still not back 😂
Your biblical parallels are pretty weak here. Caesar was very much a Moses, leading his people to the promised land, raised with the humans. Noah was Noah in this movie, saving his people from the flood. We see Caesar's body burned. This series flips the perspective from the originals, where we're still identifying with humans vs the apes. Here we're allied with the apes. The humans are the threat, and Noah points out that they can't share. He is going to have to stop their crazy schemes.
Marvel brainrot has tricked him into thinking it's a good idea to bring back every beloved character. This misses the point of what a meaningful story is, and I would be very disappointed to anything resembling this happen in the planet of the apes saga.
Within the context of these new movies i think it will be safe tu asume the time at which Taylor shows up would be 50 - 100 years after the events of "Kingdom of the planet of the apes"
I always saw Caesar as more of a Moses figure than Noah. Caesar delivers his people from slavery and leads them to the promised land. But it’s a hard journey, and along the way many of his followers, including some close friends, become disillusioned with his leadership and choose to rebel, which only leads to destruction and death.
Ceaser might be coming back. YES, SIR.. they killed him off too fast. Ceaser didn't play no games. Ceaser was a great leader. Love to see Ceaser returning.
Even though it's not stated, I think Noa is a direct descendant of Cesar. Cesar was born with ligh eyes and his sons were born with blue eyes, just like Noa. The other apes of Cesar's generation acquired green eyes from the drug but it wasn't passed on to their kids.
Love the explanation ❤I too would love to see the franchise come full circle with the *Astronaut’s returning to Earth coming through some kind of time warp/worm hole. I would love to see an *A list actor play Mr. Heston character.
As long as the money is there, they will continue the series. I hope it maintains the same high standards of storytelling it has to date. I feel you are on the right track with your predictions. I recently did a rewatch of all things Ape and discovered some strong parallels that can’t be denied. Ultimately, I think they are retelling the entire saga but from a more grounded perspective. The first trilogy basically covered Conquest and Battle from the original series along with elements of Escape and Planet. I think this current trilogy will retell Beneath with the underground mutant humans with telepathic abilities being replaced by the remnants of humanity hiding in bunkers joining together against the Apes. Then the final trilogy will in essence be Planet of the Apes and elements of Escape with the Icarus mission returning in some fashion and the time travel elements of the story kicking in. I agree that it would be very interesting to have Caesar return instead of humans. We shall see what happens…. Hopefully 🤞 Thank you for the great breakdown and theories!🙏
Everybody is freaking out trying to connect anything to the 1968 movie... but heck, maybe they're just looking at the stars through the "light tunnel" (Noas' words) and maybe Mae is just part of a survivalist community, living in the satcoms bunker (kinda like Fallout)... just standard POTA life, nothing connected to the original incoming starship yet. But you need to chose between healthy (Rise), low-tech (Dawn), on the break of extinction or primitive (POTA 1968)... especially this "some humans are primitively dumb, some others are as untouched" thing doesn't really seem plausible. That's pretty much my only bad thing to say about Kingdom.
I think a great way to end the series is having mark walhberg land on the planet randomly. Meaning Wally's movie happened and he just traveled through a worm hole that took him to another planet that also was dominated by monkeys. He gets off heads back to earth and he traveled in time 1000 years and that's him landing on a planet that found earths technology and art and rebuilt it
Everyone has assumed the new trilogy was going to come back to the original films... and make it from the OG style. not a new idea. Leave Ceasar alone He went out like a BOSS like Stark.

I think a great way to end the series is having mark walhberg land on the planet randomly. Meaning Wally's movie happened and he just traveled through a worm hole that took him to another planet that also was dominated by monkeys. He gets off heads back to earth and he traveled in time 1000 years and that's him landing on a planet that found earths technology and art and rebuilt it
We watched Ceasars death and his parents were unintelligent regular apes. There's no way he can come back in time.
It’s so crazy it might just work
Caesar was literally still on earth when that rocket left … there were two movies after that rocket left.
the returning astronauts would have the technical knowledge needed to figure out and operate whatever human technology is left.
I think the third trilogy, if they can get that far, should be a remake of the original ape films ending with earth's destruction.
“A tunnel that eats light” sounded just like a Wormhole to my nerd’s ears to be honest 😅
Everyone has assumed the new trilogy was going to come back to the original films... and make it from the OG style. not a new idea.
Leave Ceasar alone He went out like a BOSS like Stark.
Did I miss something?
Caesar died. So how would he be ‘returning’, in a space ship?
Click bait. Notice how none of that came up but in the last 3 minutes. Pathetic.
Caesar was more like Moses.
He led his people to a promised land but couldn't enter it himself.
