Ever heard of Rockwell? Yeah, THAT ROCKWELL. American artist of the 20th century, painted many iconic paintings. *HE TRACED HIS DRAWINGS FROM PHOTOGRAPHS* like flat out tracing, using a projector. I stopped caring about using digital poses after I found that out because seriously if the people insisting on this junk are that great of artists, why aren't they world famous?
brushes like that sound fantastic for storyboarding too. and if the artstyle doesnt match you could just use the brush on the sketch layer as a first draft
At first, I believed this video was going to be about artists being accused of "cheating" for using short cuts, like using custom brushes and models. I never expected this turn. This guy was wild. The gall of someone to claim something like that , that can be disproven so easily. The fact that he went to hundreds of comments, he was obsessed.
I would not be surprised if *that guy* ended up making a mistake with thinking brushes are similar. There *is* a chain brush. There are *two* chain brushes. They are fairly different from someone drawing chains in their own style. But other things? Not default, or you'd have to go look through an Assets Library of a sort, such as on the CSP Assets page (which aren't necessarily by CSP either) I think this is my only issue with using these types of brushes is exactly what was touched upon: Matching the art style. There are a lot of assets which look nice that I've seen in the CSP Assets page, and I've downloaded a few of them before; however, I've realized how little I'm going to use them since I don't actually feel like they'd fit with anything I'd draw in the first place due to style differences. They look pretty and are super cool -- but totally useless for my needs. It was a similar thing with the default pattern brushes and other assets as well. The only things I'd use from someone else are maybe some effects brushes, but that's about it I suppose if I ever do end up going into comics, I might consider working with these types of brushes myself due to the sheer need of simplifying and speeding up the creation of repeated elements. But for now? I'm not creative enough to work out how I'd get the defaults or ones people use into my art style/workflow, and I'm a bit too lazy to create my own -- so I'm not touching them for the most part, with some special exceptions on very simple effects
I wouldn't have nearly as much patience as you had with said person as you... some days after the false accusations I would be playing real life Ace Attorney with "this guy".

"until this guy rolled around" the video cut to an ad featuring Jeff Goldblum. JEFF how could you?! 😂 I'm a traditional media rather than a digital artist, but we've taken shortcuts and use time/labor saving tools all throughout history. Work smarter not harder and sell your innovations like any other non art professional does.
I love how after talking about the brushes now every time I notice a brush I'm like whoa a brush!
The ad after "Until this guy rolled around" felt like an ad break on TV with the timing.
It's sad when people keep trying to get you to give up, and make you sad with false accusations, it's good to see that even with all these bad people making false rumors about you and your custom brushes you moved on and didn't give up even with them continuing with that.
I hope you have already solved this problem, even though it's been four months since this video was posted, I hope you no longer have to put up with the behavior of this type of people and can do what you like without being accused of cheating and steal from others.
3:53 wow, such a cheater. Star even uses a circle tool instead of drawing a perfect circle.... THE HORROR!!!😱
hey, coin pen video, that's where i first saw you! 🤩🤩
Outro: I have a newsflash for these "Cheating" AHs and I am SO TIRED of these people saying using tracing/rulers/mirrors/articulation dolls/brushes/a reference/painting from life!!(yeah I heard that one before)/ *plain old pencils* are cheating.
**eats skittles while slouching** I’m so healthy
brushes like that sound fantastic for storyboarding too. and if the artstyle doesnt match you could just use the brush on the sketch layer as a first draft
Not default, or you'd have to go look through an Assets Library of a sort, such as on the CSP Assets page (which aren't necessarily by CSP either)
I think this is my only issue with using these types of brushes is exactly what was touched upon: Matching the art style. The only things I'd use from someone else are maybe some effects brushes, but that's about it
I suppose if I ever do end up going into comics, I might consider working with these types of brushes myself due to the sheer need of simplifying and speeding up the creation of repeated elements. But for now? I'm not creative enough to work out how I'd get the defaults or ones people use into my art style/workflow, and I'm a bit too lazy to create my own -- so I'm not touching them for the most part, with some special exceptions on very simple effects
wait...that's your book shelf brush....hm, you learn somthing new everyday.😄
I love how some people are so bold in screaming "scammer" but don't have any recipes...
People who say using brushes is cheating clearly don’t know what 99% of artists do in order to save time (and sanity).
Moral of the story, social media sucks, some people suck, damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Also, love your art and stories. 😁
Thats like a kid accusing you of cheating while you are answering a math problem om the board the teacher just made up
When you mention this guy and switch to making the grumpy elf thing, I’ve thought you were drawing him at first😅
I wouldn't have nearly as much patience as you had with said person as you... some days after the false accusations I would be playing real life Ace Attorney with "this guy".
Trust me as a scenic artist in theatre things aren’t always about how technically skilled art is but about conveying the over design and specific details, especially for a first mock up to show the rest of the team. I’m in college so you best believe I’m using my brushes every chance I get. If anything I love find unique ways to use a brush.
As soon as I started watching this video I knew exactly who you were drawing!! What an adorable chibi Fearne!!
And I never understood why people think using brushes and stamps is cheating. Let’s see those people hand draw all those coins or books.
you know "this guy" is probably watchin this and getting butthurt 😂
i think i watched this video a few months ago (rewatching it now) but im almost sure this video pushed me to make my own custom brushes (coins, laces, fur trim etc) it was really fun and apparently people on CSP asset store really like them too :D
oh i only saw the bookshelf brush video ages ago, its cool i stumbled upon the one behind that through unrelated videos!
Oh..., that was your first mistake. Twitter. Oh, nevermind, there was no issue there that you could've reasonably made, and honestly you kind of dodged a realistic bullet that would've been used against you. Oh, it was only one guy.
I honestly burst out laughing when I went back to the thumbnail and saw her use the exact same coin brush she got accused of "stealing" in the thumbnail. Touchè
i was accused of stealing art on my instagram once. they literally linked my own instagram to myself in my own instagram comments to accuse me of "stealing from this artist"
OMFG!!! That's wild 😂🤣
Lmao
lmao some people are really pathetic
….why!?! 😂😭
This didn't and then did go where I was expecting. This internet stranger is sorry you had to deal with all of that BS.
the sad stock music has me weak 😭😭😭
As i was listening to this while driving, i thought maybe someone was accusing you of copying the viral coin brush i saw on tumblr a few years ago... then i realized you're the guy that made the viral coin brush i saw on Tumblr a few years ago. Here take this 👑
this is the first video I've ever seen from you, randomly popped up in my recommended and by the loa you have some amazing artwork!
watching your speedpaints is so satisfying!
7:56 this brush comes I think standard in a version of clip studio paint I have!
I’ve not found a use for it but I have something like this brush…and I was so happy.
But yours are way better…so cool and look amazing
Everyone go find this guy and repeatedly tweet this at him
The smug aura of your thumbnail mocks me!
>:3c Ehehe
I’d love to see him panic trying to “prove” that these brushes are real.
Also, I’m the type to believe that, if it makes things easier use them. I don’t mind custom brushes.
Oh hey the short you posted of that coin brush was my first contact with your channel a little while ago. I thought it was clever. These kind of repetitive fiddly patterns are what make me apprehensive of making comics.
