It has passed some days since i have finished it, but it is still present in my mind. I still think about Trico and how this adventure with him holds such a special place in my heart. The fact that this game came out is truly a happiness for me, after many years of development, switching consoles/technologies and general problems, it still managed to launch beautifuly and true to its initial purpose, it is something that is pretty rare to see nowadays in the game industry. Trico is beautiful, it is alive, a masterpiece in technical terms, never before i have seen a criature so rich in details, animations, different behaviours and charisma. He is like a cat, a dog and many other animals together, maybe it stroke me a lot because i have a cat, but all the time while playing i understood and feared for Trico, felt his emotions and rapidly became attached to him. Overall, I have some problems with the controls and the camera, but it really doesn't matter in the end, i have loved playing it from the start until it ended. TLG is very special and i will cherish it forever in my heart.

What's sad about all this graphics talk is that people seem to miss the coolest thing in this video -- character interaction. This game has the most involved character interaction I've ever seen. You learn the creature's feeling and intent through non-verbal cues, and the creature does the same to you. And you must overcome obstacles by using these non-verbal communications. It isn't like in most games where you hit the talk button and the other character starts barfing out dialogue. There's something unique and cool right in front of you, and you people don't even see it.

Ueda actually responded to everybody saying the game will obviously have a sad ending involving Trico dying. He swerved the question somewhat, but said that the ending would be very open to interpretation. The way I read that is that something will happen where Trico appears like he may have died or not but the boy never gets to definitively find out, because he gets blocked out of the land or something like that.
People complaining at the graphics but notice all of the individual feathers and blades of grass fluttering in the wind. Also when the bridge collapses, you can see every piece of wood crack and every block of stone rumble. I've not seen anything quite like that in that detail before in a game. It's quite impressive and adds more realism than the graphics could

I dont like the graphics, those "amazing feathers" are nearly vibrating it looks totally unnatural, also the color sheme of the boys textures doesnt fit at all with the environment, and while the asthetic is quite nice, the resolution of the textures doesnt seem to be... so yeah it looks pretty mediocre if not less

DFK I don't know, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and the MGS games proved to be more substantial in the fidelity regard. What made Shadow of the Colossus grand was how unique it was and the profoundness of its atmosphere.

***** Never played MGS3, but for FFX are you talking about the Gameplay? Because, while a die-hard fan of that game, I think SotC had better gameplay visuals. They had some really amazing visuals with the pre-rendered cutscenes, but you can make prerendered cutscenes look far better than in-game visuals without worrying about frame rates or anything.

I still feel like I got more out of SotC visually though, but now that you've mentioned something specific, and I can recall what you're talking about, maybe it just has to do with different stylistic choices, and one of the styles appealing more to me than the other.

Legend Length Not sure if you'd played the previous games like these, but it's generally a thing that you have a 'call friend' button, and it acts as a universal command (usually for them to come to you, follow, or help). But you always can control your character while doing this. Though, if I've gotten the wrong end of the stick on what you mean, then you might have to specify the parts of the video you mean so I can understand.
Omg, the sheer sense of urgency when you are helpless and have to watch your beloved companion risk certain danger from afar like that. And Trico feels the same way about you when you are risking your life. THAT is great story design, that's how you build a bond, a relationship. Team Ico saw how people got attached to Agro in SoTC and decided to create this!
very capturing visuals, atmosphere, and textures that make the game feel alive, even though there's only 2 organic things in the entire game (or from what we've seen atleast) the entire world always seems to look like it's moving. The heart warming relationship between the child and the creature is amazing to witness simply for how they interact with eachother, it seems like a bond that is just bound to lead to some heartbreaking moments. good work, Team Ico, that'll do.

One of the best games I've ever played! One of the few that made me cry for many different reasons. The only game where I felt real anger and hate towards the boss when I was killing it. Masterpiece! My respect and gratitude to all people who took part in creating this game.

I don't understand people bashing the graphics or play style. SotC never had the most amazing graphics and it didn't play like an action game. This is mainly a puzzle game and to me it looks great and the characters seem to have so much life, can't wait.

On PS2 it was basically the very best the whole console had to offer ever. Ported on PS3 it was seemlessely a PS3 game.
DFK I don't know, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and the MGS games proved to be more substantial in the fidelity regard. What made Shadow of the Colossus grand was how unique it was and the profoundness of its atmosphere.

Never played MGS3, but for FFX are you talking about the Gameplay? Because, while a die-hard fan of that game, I think SotC had better gameplay visuals. They had some really amazing visuals with the pre-rendered cutscenes, but you can make prerendered cutscenes look far better than in-game visuals without worrying about frame rates or anything.

Good point, I had forgotten about some of those. They were pretty good. I still feel like I got more out of SotC visually though, but now that you've mentioned something specific, and I can recall what you're talking about, maybe it just has to do with different stylistic choices, and one of the styles appealing more to me than the other.

Legend Length Not sure if you'd played the previous games like these, but it's generally a thing that you have a 'call friend' button, and it acts as a universal command (usually for them to come to you, follow, or help). But you always can control your character while doing this.
Though, if I've gotten the wrong end of the stick on what you mean, then you might have to specify the parts of the video you mean so I can understand.

Omg, the sheer sense of urgency when you are helpless and have to watch your beloved companion risk certain danger from afar like that. And Trico feels the same way about you when you are risking your life. THAT is great story design, that's how you build a bond, a relationship. Team Ico saw how people got attached to Agro in SoTC and decided to create this!

very capturing visuals, atmosphere, and textures that make the game feel alive, even though there's only 2 organic things in the entire game (or from what we've seen atleast) the entire world always seems to look like it's moving. The heart warming relationship between the child and the creature is amazing to witness simply for how they interact with eachother, it seems like a bond that is just bound to lead to some heartbreaking moments. good work, Team Ico, that'll do.
