My husband's an OB/Gyne. I just had to share it with him. Thanks to these docs, nurses, and staff for making such a fun parody...and showing the world that people in the medical field don't always have to be so serious about their work. :)
So happy to see young doctors with sense of humor. They are just what suffering patients need. Nice to see Sunnybrook is supporting them. Self-righteous Christoff should get a life.
I wish Sunnybrook hadn't pulled this video over a few people being offended. Someone will ALWAYS be offended - hasn't someone stopped to think that maybe it's the person being offended that has the problem? The video is fantastic - these people work extremely hard, at a very stressful job, and if they can have a little fun making a video like this, all the better for them. I applaud them - keep it up!
Love it! I cant believe this has been seen as offensive. In fact, I hear a positive message underlying the humor which is that that you dont discriminate and that you feel competent to manage any case that comes your way. Im a midwife and would love to work with a group of docs who know how to have a good time like you guys clearly do. Kudos to you for actually making this video.
You can love you job more than life itself but that does mean that it is not physically or emotionally draining and rough, being able to have fun once in a while does not mean that you are unprofessional or bad at what you do. Someone compared this to a driver for a company driving erratically to have fun. they endangered no one in making this and showed nothing that's bad practice. I've worked in hospitals and have 3 children i find this video great. I would use this hospital.
Sunnybrook is the best hospital with the best Staff!! I love my babies life to them and there were beyond fantastic!! I love this video and seeing the fun side!! Thanks for posting this video and our Sunnybrook Gang (baby group) all love this video as well.
As a nursing student and 3 time mom, I thought it was real funny stuff and I am glad that it's been reposted. I hope they had alot of fun making this video. It sure looks like it, and that's great because nursing (especially maternity) is very stressful and humour is needed as a release. Shame on those who have tried to censor it. Seriously, it should not have been removed it the first place. I'm offended by censorship.
Love it. Thank you sunnybrook staff for sharing your creativity. Medical school productions such as Tachycardia an Daffydil are simila showcases of medical student/staff creativity. Lives during training and on the job is stressful enough. Most will only see ER and Grey's Anatomy or TLC but really never know what it is like. And living through it and being able to have and share this amazing humor and talent is fantastic. Thank you and keep it up. Waiting for production number 2. Go Sunnybrook!
more and more groups --- typcially associated by the public for their stoic professionalism are coming out thanks to this Gangnam phenomenon. It's fascinating, but more than that it's harmless FUN! Let professionals show another side! I commend all of them, well done Sunnybrook OB / GYN team, and boohiss to those that really can't see past their own confined and humourless spaces!
Love it!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent you all broke out of the professional shell to show people...WE ARE HUMAN. (im a nurse) To the people who are offended......sorry we broke your glass house. Seriously get over it !! we arent medical professionals 24/7...we live, love and laugh...like everyone else. GREAT JOB SUNNYBROOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From an expat Canadian who spent more than his fair share of time at Sunnybrook as a teen, and as a nursing student in Jerusalem, Israel, this video kicked my ass. I'm glad you got censored the first time because some poor souls took offense in the first place - because otherwise I wouldn't have been linked here by the National Post. Well done.
Honestly, this video is great. It not only shows that the Doctors/Staff are not only people who dedicate their lives saving others without the bias of whether they are offended or not by this video. They are human also, who can not only handle being a professional, but who are talented enough to make a popular song and throw in their medical terminology to fit and have fun with choreography. It shows they have a sense of humor, a real personality, and a variety of talents. Laughter is key.
this is absolutely HILARIOUS !! I can say that because I WORKED in a high-risk l&d unit for over a year & a half, & worked alongside the INCREDIBLE physicians & residents as a business clerk. I can tell you that their job is incredibly stressful, can guarantee you that they are professionals & do their job incredibly well. In fact, I can see the nurses on my former unit doing the same thing, why? It's stress relief, ob is especially a stressful environment to work in, they save 2 lives not one.
Oh, come on Humanize Birth! This was a laugh provided by those who help deliver life and not many professions take their jobs more serious! Thanks Sunnybrook Maternity!
I don't know what the fuss about this video is. It's harmless fun, and frankly I'm happy to see that professionals have a sense of humour. I'm Canadian and I support this video.
As a labor and delivery nurse who works a very stressful and busy unit, I understand that sometimes things go wrong and we need to be able to laugh at and with each other and this video had me laughing. Totally enjoyed the video.
My wife and I just had our preemie baby there last week. Awesome dedication from the hospital staff and a very healthy, non-corporate mentality was most welcoming. People really should not associate the fun, happy attitude in this parody video with a lack of professionalism as that surely was not the case when we were there. I think this parody is awesome: Just like the staff who helped us. The naysayers can go stuff it.
I read about this in the news and figured I'd come have a look at what the problem is. After watching it, I had to log in, in support of the ob/gyn staff and others that created this humourous video. Fantastic, and downright funny.
Still laughing!! I had a midwife/birthing centre birth with no drugs but believe me the people/support team around you is very important during labour and delivery. it is ultimately the choice of the mothers on how to deliver their baby and everyone must be respectful of each individual mother's choice. If they choose hospital (or sometimes that is out of necessity in emergencies) the team at Sunnybrook hospital is one of the best there is in Canada. Keep up the great work and the smiles!
I don't understand how anyone could be so offended by this video to ask for its removal. I'm glad that these hospital employees enjoy their jobs and are allowed to have fun with their coworkers. Thank you to all the hard working health care employees who dedicate their energy to helping the people of the GTA!
If you work in a high risk hospital you have to appreciate this video. It can be so stressful that you need some sort of release. Good for them to have a sense of humor.
This is a great video and I don't see anything in it that is so offensive. Isn't it great that these doctors have such a great sense of humour and can show it here? I wish more doctors and other health professionals were so much fun.
I am an OB Gyn NP and I found this to be the funniest you tube ever. I shared it with all of my Gyne friends. I want to put it on my facebook but do not know how :(
Amazing to see how everyone online is supporting the video, even if Sunnybrook is not. Hope this provides them a wake up call, and some courage to stand behind their staff, the true measure of a good employer.
When all is wrong with the world and violent news arises, I return here to watch this video and laugh out loud. These gynecologists struggle and work so hard to take out 15 cm fibroids out of little half centimetre incisions, and make sure your baby is delivered when others cannot... those who complain don't even know what the medical terms in this video! Love what BobNoxios said about donating to the Hospital per view! We in Canada should be grateful for the amazing care we get "for free!!!"
Video very funny. Congratulations sense of humor that mirrors our life as Gynecologist that is no different in the United States and Brazil. Congratulations!
People like this that have a sense of humour and show love for their job. The RNAO "Healthy work environments best practice guidelines" mentions the importance of a persons and organizations "well-being". This includes positive professional fulfillment, decreasing work exhaustion, and feeling enthusiastic, active, and alert. Even with todays generation engulfed in social media, if you really want to connect with the public, this is one of the best ways. FYI, I dont represent Sunnybrook or RNAO
I would go there after seeing this video. I think it is extremely funny! I think it is very sad that some could not see the humor and complained and because of that it was removed from the hospital website. Why is it that some think medical people are supposed to be humorless prudes? Especially since laughter is wonderful in so many ways.
Just saw your earlier comment Mike, so we're talking about the same doc. Do keep in mind that Ricki's talking about birth care in the States. I do think it applies to Canada but not as strongly. There are some docs who are awesome & don't push for unnecessary procedures, then there are some who do take advantage of a woman/family in distress, whom I've even heard abt from friends who are OB/GYNs. Also mind OHIP allows for midwives so our choices are not *that* limited.
Meconium, amniotic shower…. haha so glad I can laugh about it outside of work! Good on them for making light out of careers, that are tough muddas sometimes!
This is a great video. It just shows hard working professionals having some fun. Seriously, the only way I could see grounds for complaint is if there had been a lady about to give birth who was left on her own because everyone was filming this video. And I doubt that's the case. :) Find something more worth your time to crusade against, Ms. Christoff. I'm sure there are a lot of valid issues that need your attention.
Love it My colleagues and I thought it was Hilarious. SOO TRUE. I would love us to do that on our shift. It's just a fun but realistic song and I can totally relate to it.
If anyone fails to see the positive in this clip, that person requires much more than OB/GYNE help. Glad The Star provided link. Why on earth would it be pulled? It puts a human and hilarious face on what is a joyous moment for most women. Birth is a miracle. Why denigrate those who facilitate it because others are not getting paid to do so? Whatever happend to CHOICE, Dear Whiners? You didn't get chosen? You lost $ to a maternity ward? My heart bleeds for you, it jes' bleeds, I tell ya . . .
I gave birth to my children in hospital, and this funny video actually makes me remember the positive things about the experience. "Meconium...amniotic shower" LOL.
The totally uptight Kalina Christoff should get her head out of her butt and laugh a bit! Having worked as a nurse/nursing instructor for many years, I can attest to the tension-filled atmosphere that exists in these areas of practice. All of us use some degree of "dark humour" because if you don't laugh-you'll cry. And, just who are these "many women" of whom Kalina speaks? That's rather presumptuous. This video was well done, hilarious and with no malicious intent. Lighten up people!!
See what you don't understand is I do understand and apperciate what modern medicine has done. I personally have used an OB and I had a c-sectio. ( a medical emergency) I'm not living in some fantasy world I live in an educated world where I believe people have rights to their own bodies. They are not wackos they are women who have been hurt and abused by the system that is supposed to be helping them. They are looking for a change so it doesn't happen to another women. They don't hate doctors!
Which documentary? The Ricki Lake one? I think that was a well-balanced doc, even though it was commenting on birth care in the States and not Canada. I'm pregnant with my 2nd child and looking forward to visiting our hospital again. Nurses and doctors were all great and helped a first-time mom ease into parenthood pretty well, no pressure for any other procedures or tactics even tho they kept saying "We're so close!".
Great Job guys!! the video is cool and sad there always has to be some "group" that has nothing else to do but complain. what losers! keep up the videos!
I would clam down before calling people wacko's. Ob's have their purpose and the humanize birth movement recognizes that. What they want is women to to respected during the birth process. Which means at all times checking with the mother before any interventions are done. Ob's are for medical emergencies, birth is not a medical emergency

I was an OB nurse for 37 years and I found this hillarious:0 Nothing better than a little tongue in cheek humor after years in the trenches!
Love it! I cant believe this has been seen as offensive. In fact, I hear a positive message underlying the humor which is that that you dont discriminate and that you feel competent to manage any case that comes your way. Great job! I don't think people appreciate hospital staff for the stress they endure for a living. What a fun way to blow off steam!
Sunnybrook is the best hospital with the best Staff!! I love my babies life to them and there were beyond fantastic!! I love this video and seeing the fun side!! Thanks for posting this video and our Sunnybrook Gang (baby group) all love this video as well.

Yes there should be a Humanize Birth version - one with no music, no dancing, and no smiling.
Love it!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent you all broke out of the professional shell to show people...WE ARE HUMAN. (im a nurse) To the people who are offended......sorry we broke your glass house. Omg this is hilarious ! I am an OB nurse. This video tells it all ! Thanks so much for making it guys !

Am an OB/GYN resident and have to say this is one of the coolest videos ive seen on youtube!
PS- would love to work in this hospital!!
Omg my dad showed me this when it went viral omg it was such a fun memory

Thanks for throwing this up. I just reamed out Humanize Birth over their over-reaction to this video. Nobody has the right to censor.
Glad to see our professionals are loosening up a little. You all need to do this once in a while relax and stay focused
This is a great video. Thank you for posting it. (I hate Internet censorship.)
Exactly! I'm offended that these people are offended. Where does it stop? We all need to lighten up and laugh, even if it is at ourselves.
I wondered why it was gone. Thanks for bringing it back!
Love it!!! Looks like it was hella fun filming too.
Great video, the folks at Sunnybrook are a fine bunch, thanks for the smile
Absolutely hilarious!! you guys certainly have to blow off steam as well. Well done. I laughed my a** off!!
I'm OB/GYN in Brazil and this is one of The coolest video in The world :) GREAT!!!!

excellent video, lots of fun, don't let the hospital take it down...
Phenomenol video ... hopin' the staff at Credit Valley can match this awesomeness!
I think it's a great sense of humour and I had two incredibly difficult pregnancies that ended with preemies in the NICU. I like this video.
Best gangnam parody out there. Great job!

Let's relax. Just about everywhere, people play with what they've got. And when it is time to work I'll bet this crew is really good!
It's a great vid, funny and very human ans the staff who did it deserve full kudos for it.this is a keeper.....30
Very, very funny! Muito bom mesmo!!! I'm a brazilian obs/gyne and really love this! Congrats to your production! Looks real actors!
I don't understand how anyone could be so offended by this video to ask for its removal. I'm glad that these hospital employees enjoy their jobs and are allowed to have fun with their coworkers. Nice representation of OB GYN life!!! Like the video!!
If you work in a high risk hospital you have to appreciate this video. It can be so stressful that you need some sort of release. Good for them to have a sense of humor.
Lol you guys rock! OB gyne style !
This is a great video and I don't see anything in it that is so offensive. Isn't it great that these doctors have such a great sense of humour and can show it here? I wish more doctors and other health professionals were so much fun.
Oh my god this is phenomenal. It seriously just made my day :)

I think this is just too funny!! Great job!!
This is hilarious !! I am a L and D nurse and it is a really funny video- you gotta have some humor in your life or work will kill you with the stress
Amazing to see how everyone online is supporting the video, even if Sunnybrook is not. Hope this provides them a wake up call, and some courage to stand behind their staff, the true measure of a good employer.
Fantastic! Reminds me of when it was fun to work in the hospital.
Thanks. Made my day.
PS: I think you meant 'bawlin' ?
When all is wrong with the world and violent news arises, I return here to watch this video and laugh out loud. Heh, truly awesome. If i was having a baby, i would want these guys to deliver it.
That's hilarious! I would have loved to have them on staff when I delivered my son!
LMAO!!!
Awesome parody!!! Well done
This was awesome! Humanize Birth just got some haters.
Glad to see somebody fighting back against the politically correct buzzkills. Congrats to the crew who made this video - some talent there!
Awesome video.. although i dont know what half of the words mean, but i LOVE it!
I am a retired L&D nurse. We were also doing funny things for comic relief! We had so much fun when we had the time!
Great show! Thanks a lot.
Awesome video! Thanks for uploading!
Tremendously horrific. Thank you Renata

The staff at the hospital laughed all night long...hilarious!

I think this is FARR more fun and interesting that the ORIGINAL Gagnam Style! AT least they are terminologically correct, and its funny as HELL!

great idea - hope they read this and go for it!!!! :-)
This was funny. Some people are not.
Merry Xmas, OB/GYNY.
great work!
Great job!
I have 8 weeks to go and this really made me laugh!
this is soooo great...wish they were there for me
Meconium, amniotic shower…. haha so glad I can laugh about it outside of work! Good on them for making light out of careers, that are tough muddas sometimes!
haha fantastic!
I pity whoever takes offense at this!
This is so funny - I passed it on to all my nurse friends who work on baby floor
I'm a student midwife and think this is the greatest thing in the universe.
