An augur was a priest and official in the classical Roman world. His main role was the practice of augury: Interpreting the will of the gods by studying the flight of birds - whether they were flying in groups or alone, what noises they made as they flew, direction of flight, and what kind of birds they were.
The first clean morning means that on the first cloudless day the augurs are going to interpret the flight of the birds

To me they are two different kinds of shows, one of very action packed, bloody, and focuses on the slaves and gladiatorial aspects and the other has much more of the political intrigue and has more historical accuracy
