    Tuffy just sent me a picture of a Coast Tea Tree, found in the San Francisco area. Looks like this is not a root, just a part of that twisted tree! 😊

    One of the coolest of the root balls you have turned Phil. I would say it was Phil meets nature and we win. If it was a movie it would be called "Phil Meets Root Ball"
    I see the face but the first one I saw was where you pointed to an area and said you want to do something with it. Looks like one of those little bulldogs with its lower chin sticking out.
    Great turning my friend,

    Thank You Phil....WOW YOU actually figured out how to hold and turn that knarley dude!!!... Well Phil you must know now that you have upped my "Phil wood" searching/collecting game. The more twisted the better., ha!!! ... Over the years you have defined your style. I think, you have perfected your style of "wonderfulness" and you know exactly how to approach the un-approachable with very positive results. All of that knowledge comes from just doing & Phil YOU are doing pretty darn good. You have said in the past "I do not have an artistic bone in my body", ha. Time for you to sit back and look at what you have created with that non artistic bone of yours... You have made so much fun this afternoon and I always look forward to next Thursday....Beautiful bowl Phil ... TM
    PS- It could be "Tea Tree" wood from San Francisco and not a root ball but a limb. Tea Trees are just strange trees and all over the City planted in the 20's

    • @PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop
      @PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop  7 місяців тому

      Oh, interesting. Never heard of Tea Trees. It did have quite a bit of mud in a couple places. Maybe from sitting in a mud puddle or something. Sure seemed like a root to me, though. Anyway, thank you for the challenge, it was good fun, Tuffy! 😊

    I am a quilter and my favorite kind to make is a scrappy one, using a mix of prints and colors, often donated from friends. I like this kind because, like you and your wood scraps, it allows me to plan and design as I go thereby making unique and special quilts. To some people those may not be their cup of tea, for me it’s fun to imagine what I can do with scraps that no one sees value in. That’s what you do with those grungy bits of wood that you turn into pieces of art. Long may you continue producing your works. I love seeing you find the beauty in your medium.😊

Love how you let the natural characters of the wood to form your pie e and don't lots of products to enhance the natural beauty & wonders God has made. Like some of the sites that use epoxy yet their finished products don't have as interesting forms as your bowls.
