this is probably the first bike build vid I ever saw, and immediately messaged one of my friends who has a passion for motorcycles. Dude taught me to drive and brought me to multiple motorcycle expos and events. We lost him last September of 2018. He will be missed.
This is what motorbiking really is building your own bike with your own hands and with the tools you have to your own taste. Very good job, the bike came out nice!
One of my father's friends give us a Honda Cb 125 of 1978. Very old and very rusty, we started by demonstrating it, and repaint all parts. We needed a Cafe Racer model, when I found your vidéo. Youre vidéo motivated me a lot and it helps me visualize my goal. Thanks for youre video and congrats for your beautiful model. From France :)
My father would be very impressed with your work! (as am i) i grew up in a biker house, bikes where in are blood. My father would often turn up with a hunk of junk and spend many hours stripping it down and rebuilding it. Great job love the old school/cafe racer style of bikes (its what my father was into back in the 80's) I have subscribed! Love from Liverpool UK.
Hey everyone! since many of you guys asked me where I got the seat or other parts on this build, I created a parts list with the links on my website! be sure to check it out here: tomracingdesigns.com/index.php/parts/
Thanks a lot for all the nice comments!! :) I'd love to know which one of my cafe racer bike is your favorite! I would really appreciate if you guys vote to tell me that via this link :) tomracingdesigns.com/index.php/2018/06/04/vote-for-your-favorite-bike/
I didn't remove them because I didn't paint the tank, it is platidip, a rubber coating that can me removed. I wanted to keep the stickers to give a kind of shape to the platidip it was intentional lol. And also that way I could go back to stock tank design if I wanted to
You did a great job on your bike ! VVe dont get any 2 cylinder 125cc models here in the USA so its nice getting to see the models that Honda offers in other countries .I had a 1978 CB400T2 for almost a decade . It got converted into a retro Mini-VVing vv/an old Craig Vetter fairing , a trunk, saddlebags & a crash bar . It vvas comfortable & like all Hondas , Reliable . The only thing I'll suggest to you is that you eventually put the front fender back on the bike . I've removed mine @ one time & after having to ride through the rain & then having loose gravel get throvvn right into my face @ 50mph I realised that no matter hovv cool it looked , fenders are vvorth having. That said I vvish you many years of safe & fun riding & if you ever build another bike please post that video as you did a great job .
Just got my 83’ CM250C running good after a small accident. This has given me a lot of good ideas for over the winter. I never thought of it but the split handle bar is nasty looking. I love it.
nice simple, seemingly low budget build. I see a lot of builds where people spend thousands of dollars and scrutinize over every detail so it’s cool to see you using a hacksaw and spray paint among other things to still build a bike that looks pretty damn nice
you can tell a lot of love went into this project, lots of other people would have skipped some steps just to make it look cool, but he went the extra mile, putting the extra time, love, effort & money into making it a better machine, instead of just making it look better.
This is so good. The video makes it look so easy to do this. I hope people realize how long this can take and how hard it can be if you haven’t done it before (took me 8 years to finish mine 😂😂)
After watching this video, i am going to devote my life to learn how to build one of my own bike. I've learned to built my car a few years ago and now I have a new goal. Thanks Tahitian Rider :)
great work man. you are doing the same things like me. i was created my cafe racer from honda cm 125 too and all by my hand with a few tools. at last it not perfect but it's REALLY mine.
While some of us are here to critique his tank paint job, this dude demonstrated his artistic ability as a mechanic to preserve the original aesthetic and manipulate his work all within a makeshift workspace! 👏
I really like what you did here. I love how you kept the honda logo on the tank too instead of just leaving it solid color. Lots of nice little touches.
Fantasic job, you have talent and an eye for design, your passion shined through in the video and you didnt even need to say a single word ha, well done sir id ride thqt every day
Really like it, great choice of tunes too, what's the first track called mate? I'm just about to start a project cafe racer on a 1985 cb125T and I'll be taking a few of your idea's hope that's ok 👌
damn..big respect for your talent.. i am interested in mechanic but i am gonna study civil engineering next year....i hope i can make an mechanic apprenticeship afterwards
Amazing build, amazing video, everytime I watch one of your cafe racer videos I say that is my favorite bike and then I watch the next one and I say no that is my favorite bike, you do excellent work, please make more.
What an amazing job, it inspired me even more to do something on my motorcycle, congratulations for the work, LIKE! Which plasti dip did you use? / color
This is the only best modification videos out there, but i need more information for thin and light cafe racer built like this one, instead of the thick bulky one.
Bonne route
As of recently I’ve really started to dig the stock look of those older bikes, maybe change the rear lights but man I love the look, kinda getting over the cafe racer thing.. weird, I used to like boots, now I love dress shoes, I was a dive watch guy, now I want a Cartier.. I’m growing up! 😂
Superbe ! Mais ta vidéo me motive trop.
The build was so clean despite of lacking expensive equipments in your work area. ...pure talent i might say in achieving that cafe racer looks. ..i am just wondering if it is possible to lower that front fork down or it will not be advisable in terms of engineering (whatsoever) purpose. ..thanks for the reply evryone. ..great job sir!
When I started watching I thought, this isn't going to be very good. Then you broke out the hacksaw! I thought holy crap this guy is putting a lot of effort in! The end result looks fantastic! You proved this doubter wrong and inspired me along the way. Thanks for the upload. One nit pick. Not sure about the wooden paddle under the seat. You'd be getting spanked every time you hit a bump. Just kidding. But still, is a bit sketchy. Thought about fibre glass and welding some brackets?
As requested by so many, the parts list with links for this build is available here ;) tomracingdesigns.com/index.php/parts-list/
Hello, can you tell me how much was the cost of all pieces to past by a cm 125 to this niece bike ! Thx

Wow. I'm amazed on how you built it! You didn't even used expensive tools. And the outcome looks great.

loving the style but the fact that he didnt peel the emblem off the tank...my ocd kicked in haha. your bike looks great!
Random Girls Yeah, that was driving me crazy, too. Seems like it would have been so easy to do!

Amazing! I haven’t seen a video this interesting in a while. I had my eyes glued on the video fron start to end. Good job, sir!
These little hondas are sweet - New seat, new exhaust, maybe a repainted fuel tank, and you've got a pretty nice looking scrambler

The demostration!! The passion doesn't need an officine and professional tools.
Don't have a bike but I come back here every time because your work inspires me.
impressive work , great builds . you need a garage dude , a workshop of your own . watching you do your work in that parking space makes my back ache
Its the most simple and wow looking build I have ever seen....
what an absolute awesome transformation!!! exactly the look that im after!! brilliant

thanks man! This is the classic black plastidip ;)

Looks good. I just hope the rattle can paint job holds up.
just repaint it its not a big deal
It's plastic dip so you can just peel it off
Ouah t'es trop chaud ! Tellement de taff, et le résultat déchire 🔥
very well done, so inspiring, best of luck for all your projects

Magnifique!
I would love to see the whole detailed build at real time
Dude, i´m your fan. That was pure art.

loved it mate!! One of my bucket list to have a bike like this!! Original is very expensive, I guess I will let modify to someone as well.
