Is it at all possible to get when you put what points in as you leveled? Using this a reference and I see it spike dramatically and can't keep up lol
Honestly this is the only time when the fourth ending actually makes sense. In all other play-throughs you are just throwing under the bus all the demons who helped you the along the way. But here, you did it all on your own without relying on demons (other than Aogami)
especially when you consider that this character has already gone through the other endings, seen what they had to offer, and decided that the fourth option Nuwa gave was the one he was looking for.
I took it in an opposite sense, namely, both sides agreed that the situation was a mess and they'd maintain order on their side of things seperate from humanity while you Shepard humanity, both going their own way knowing the promise to one another.

@@christopherbravo1813 the Op, he says if you do the run with demon's it's like throwing them under the bus, I took it as both you and the demons coming to agreement that both sides need to be seperate as "the world for humanity alone" doesn't delete the demons just seperates them from the human world and as half of the issues in the series come from demon X fighting with Angel Z over control over the human world having them seperate may stop the fighting all together
@@AnarchicArachnid I don't think anyone agrees to it, but yeah. I do think that all the protagonist does is keep the demons separate from the new world.

What a run it was to watch. Shiva alone seemed like absolute hell, but props to you for your persistent's in going at it solo and learning his quirk's. Some might look at the use of DLC as a bit of a run invalid, but personally I see it as just making the prep work go faster. Great job and you certainly earned a sub for this.
The Mitamas don't give an unfair advantage, just speeds things up.

I couldn’t record it but I was able to beat demi fiend solo. You need an absurd amount of vitality but you *can* tank gaea rage. After 32 new game plus runs my vitality is 527. Megidoloan and freikugel do minimal damage and gaea rage does 150-250 damage. Chaotic will is the only scary ability left.
My only point is that it is possible… just not practical. The max stats are 999 so doing many new game plus runs is the only way to make it possible to solo demi fiend. Most players are better off modding their stats though
You did 32 new game pluses? How long did that take?

Thank Christ for the Level Cap rule; makes the run actually interesting. I hate when people do challenge runs for RPGs and their solution is usually just to be over-leveled for the whole game. That's so boring and more a test of one's patience in the face of hours of grinding.
Breathtaking is an understatement. The commentary, the editing, there’s no way this shouldn’t have a million views at the minimum! I rewatch this every now and again. You should absolutely write a guide on how to pull this off, though you explained it pretty well. Please consider writing a written guide, and let us now!

I actually wanted to find a story recap video as I want to resume my playthrough but decided to check this video first and it turns out it was exactly what I was looking for in the first place. This video not only was fun for the challenge but was also useful for remembering the story up until where I reached it. I will resume the video once I finish the playthrough as I stopped at some point to avoid spoilers.

I have yet to play this game, but if it's any merit...
There was a way to confirm the identities of Ongyo-Ki's clones back in Nocturne, so perhaps a similar method could be performed with Tsukuyomi? The method required you to enter the fight during a *full moon* (or, in that game, full Kagutsuchi), during which you could see the real Ongyo-Ki's shadow.
Top tier video. Informative, entertaining, engaging and not to mention hilarious editing. I don't know HOW you had the willpower to keep pushing through but you did it. Your efforts are inspiring my dude.

I remember having the exact same issue happening with Shiba and fionn's rematch, so maybe it has something to do with how luck functions in this game?
My only solution I could suggest is fighting a couple of monsters and let them hit you to see if it fixes it

My first playthrough of this game was "typical" run, with demons, on hard.
My second (fresh new) was Nahobino solo, on normal. I have only 2 registered demons in compendium (Pixie and Tao) and even though I played on normal and not on hard, I fell a sense of accomplishment, namely because I didn't have (nor do I plan on using) Mitama DLC. I haven't beat Demifiend, tho. 😕😕😕
But I will, one day. Solo run in SMT V was really fun, and definitely less stressful than solo run in Nocturne.

Looking back at this video from some of his more recent ones, it’s very obvious how much he’s improved. He’s so much better at writing scripts and building tension nowadays.

This was amazing to watch. I haven't played this yet(I've so far only been on the Persona side of things play wise) but I was curious. I've fallen into the challenge video hole and this was recommended to me. And I certainly am glad it was. I started tearing up when you got Shiva to low health animation. Your flashbacks to the times you'd died. It was all just...amazing. Wonderful. This was lovely.
I rewatch challenge runs for background noise to help with my adhd. But sometimes some editing just makes me pause and concentrate on that section alone. The Shiva Low Health to flashback to win section is always one of those. And it always makes me emotional. Love it so much.
This is truly incredible. This game is hard by itself and you went the extra mile to not have a single demon. All I can say is that you’re awesome!!!

The mitama dlc is so broken that if you activate all of them, you'll be overrun by mitama and the normal enemy will become the new mitama. You can even encounter the elusive mitama that drop gospel in group of 3 if the RNG is right.

Sometimes I wonder if you miss the Monsterhunter content, but Im really happy you decided to make more SMT challenge videos regardless.
In truth, I do not miss it, no. While I had fun making the MH videos, back then, I never felt like I had found "my thing," and the YT growth was really difficult. Now, I have found a format (challenge runs) that I can use to tell stories and express my creativity in ways that fulfil me.

This is so cool. I love SMT solo runs (watching them, not playing them) and I wonder if there are any optimizations to what you can do, specially against Shiva since you needed NG+. What do you think, is there still a chance to beat Shiva without demons and not in NG+?
NG+ was required for 2 reasons: obtaining drain physical (equipping the skill on nahobino) and more balms to survive the impaler animus boosted attack at -2 defense. The balm issue could be solved with better planning and stat points allocation, but I don't see how you do this without drain physical. The only source of drain physical in the game comes from Nuwa's essence, which is an essence that you cannot get unless you go to NG+.
The easier way to get drain physical would be to switch your affinities to those of a demon who drains phys naturally (i.e. siegfried) but there is an issue with that. If you do that, then you don't have a guaranteed way to avoid Kali's fogna. Status immunities are a lot harder to get because your only reliable way to get one is to change Nahobino's affinities. That's part of why I changed my affinities to those of Zao Gongen's essence, to make sure I had a mirage immunity to deal with fogna. I did a lot of testing and combining the drain physical skill and Zao Gongen's essence looked like the best combination.
Maybe there is another way to tackle this fight but this is the best strategy I was able to come up with.
@@Doos No idea if this will work, but perhaps you could kill Kali so Shiva summons Parvati? Parvati uses hama and marakukaja, so you would need to grab drain light as well (which unfortunately would have to replace high restore) and hope that the longer fight is manageable, but it gets the fogna issue out the way. You can then use Siegfried's affinities for drain phys and inherit resist fire (instead of drain phys) and drain elec as usual.
It does add another problem though, which is mp and healing item management. I'm not sure if you will run out of items dealing with Shiva if Parvati starts putting up marakukaja.

About 4 months ago Robin and Zephyr did the same challenge and defeated shiva on normal new game.
Currently trying this run out myself, and bro let me tell you using mitamas to level is absolutely the way to go. You are doing yourself a service with the amount of time saved and you still have tons of difficult fights that actually matter for you to get through. The game actually feels more rewarding this way, and theres so much extra glory to use when you dont have to care about demons!

Thank you ! I used Nuwa's theme for that section. Funny that you mentioned Shadow Hearts because I've recently heard about the game and I'm considering playing it for the first time. I like JRPGs with interesting takes on the turn based formula (SMT, Octopath Traveler etc...) and it looks like that game is right up my alley. I could see myself covering it on the channel if I really enjoy it.
@Deus omg you'll love shadow hearts . I've been wanting to replay it for years but the game is expensive now for the legitimate copy. I borrowed and played my friends copy years ago but I still play the shadow hearts 2 that I own to this day. I've played through it like 8-10 times. I recommend greatly plus there is a game inspired by it coming out soon called PennyBlood

I know you are teasing, and for those who don't know about SMTV Demi-Fiend (somehow), it's pretty impossible solo.
Buffs, debuffs, aggresive elemental coverage, big damage, instakills, healing, Gaea Rage which acts as a timer that WILL kill anyone who is alone and Chaotic Will which if it does not kill you, you basically lose a turn which leads to Gaea Rage.
I would like to see the Fiend fights that lead to Demi-Fiend.
