Hi guys, check out my Johnsonville Italian Sausages with Peppers 🫑 and Onions 🧅 Click here
ua-cam.com/video/cXZvtRl8bhw/v-deo.html
This is what the package says and what people I've talked to do and it seems to work, but I've learned over time that you should boil first! Then fry them at the end and let the excess moisture evaporate away! I use this method with beer brats too, it seems to give a much nicer result from what I've found but maybe others experiences are different.
Thanks for sharing.
This method of cooking works well but I found that reversing the process boiling first then browning works so much better for me.
Thanks for sharing!
I do the same. Boil first 10 mins. Then brown in the skillet. Perfect every time.
Wow that was nice plus helps this hungry guy work on his cooking skills.🙂👍👍😉
👍🏽
I fry these sausages all the time on low heat in a non stick pan, you won't have a burning problem
Thanks for watching and sharing!
I thought non-stick was a no-no due to causing cancer?
@@taaj4403 not an issue with ceramic non stick, just teflon
@@taaj4403You can get non stick pans without Teflon.
Sweet apron!! Thank you for the video!👌🏻😃 great choice of flavored sausages 💪🏽
Thanks and thanks for watching!
That's exactly what I was looking for.. thank you.😊
You're welcome 😊
My grandfather would boil them in the frying pan first then pan fry
Nice 👍🏽 thanks for watching!
Really?? I don't know what Im doing wrong but at 1st they were coming out so plumb with juicy center..Now lately they are not. crisping on outer and juicy with a plumb on in side..The only thing I can come up with is up the heat from 250 low cook to 300/350 which may crisp the outside. With a dash of veg oil in pan to start. No poking holes in it at start to aid cooking.. keep juicy flavor inside You've got me thinking about this boiling aspect...
thats what i do boil 1st then fry for a quick 1 min of so let it rest 3 mins and damn good stuff
So I'm not the only one! Alright, well that makes me feel better lol
That’s what I’m going to try. Thnx!
Cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ ... 🌷🌷🌷 Ngày mới ... Mình chúc bạn gia đình vui khỏe và hạnh phúc

i'd watch you cook anything, so pretty❤
Thanks much, and thanks for watching!
How do you mellow down the heat?
I am not sure what you are referring to exactly but thanks for watching!
She could have added 1/2 water to caramlize the pan to cook the flavor in the meat.
That was done as to company’s instructions. 😊 Thanks for watching!
Are you cooking them with that paper or whatever that encases them?
The casings are natural casings, you can eat them. But if you wish you can remove them.
@@laurafordesvideos Thank you.
You are welcome!
Where is the 5th one they usually come with 5
Added Water Will Help.
Thanks for watching!
I bake them
okay bet looks easy enough
Thanks for watching!
@@laurafordesvideos Thank you for cooking!
When it comes out of the package, it looks like there is something transparent covering it. Do you cook without taking it?
That is the casing, it is edible I cook with it on but before eating I usually take it off.
I bake mine 😊
Interesting…
Only 4? Where I come from Johnsonville always come 5 in a pack
It had 5 in the pack but I used one before. 😊 Thanks for watching!

I LIKE COOKING SAUSAGES IN A AIRFRYER
Ok, personally I have never used an air fryer.
I personally do mines backwards I boil first and then fry on lie medium heat just for color!
I guess what’s important is that you get the desired results you were looking for. 👍🏽
How long do I cook them for?
Until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 F. Thanks for watching!
This is going to make them nice and soft. So if you don’t have real teeth this would be great. If you’d like crispy and savory, boil first then fry. I like to fry first and boil because it’s softer for me
FYI - This is my unique, faster (smoke-free), less cleanup method.
Cook them in the microwave for 5 to 7-min
(3-min, then flip. 2-min more, check internal temps are above 165F. 1+ min more, only for the ones below temp).
Optional: I quickly brown with a butane torch flame (outside to keep your house smoke-free). ~10 to 15-sec each. Warning: they may squirt hot juices at you!
This method results in less clean up time (as long as they are covered while in the Mic).
PS - Poking a couple of holes in the sausage/bratwurst might be safer / less explosive. And possibly better for people with high cholesterol. And they are Not 'dry' to me, but definitely less juicy.
Thanks for sharing
Trini 🇹🇹❤
😊
SHOULD'VE THROWN SOME ONIONS IN THERE & COOKED IT IN ALL THAT LOVELY FOND. (BURNT PIECES) THAT WAS ALL FLAVOR YOU JUST GOT RID OF.
That’s what I did in this video 😊…ua-cam.com/video/cXZvtRl8bhw/v-deo.htmlsi=_wvAaZFxXK_xltHR
I made this last night.
What did you have it with?
@@laurafordesvideos a nice bun with onions & a yellow bell pepper.
Oh yes sounds good!
@@laurafordesvideos no feedback 😬...
The air fryer is probably faster and better.
I guess that is an option for those who own one.
I don't know how they do it at the carnival, county and state fairs but I have never had an Italian sausage that was as tender as the ones they make. It looks like they slow cook them with green peppers and onions on a flat griddle. I've tried it. They never have come out the same at theirs.
Maybe you should ask them one day how they get it so tender. I did another video peppers and onions with the sausages. Click here ua-cam.com/video/cXZvtRl8bhw/v-deo.htmlsi=DfaYw7FxZoCWY12a
@@laurafordesvideos I would but I moved away from the US 23 years ago.
Oh ok
I make delicious tender brats...1st cut 3 or 4 slashes with a knife across both sides. Place in baking pan. Add cut fairly thick cut slices of onions, same with bell pepper. Spread these generously over the Brats. Add approx 3/4 cup of water. Cover with HEAVY foil. Then use fork to poke a few holes in the foil. Bake in oven at 275. After 2o min or so turn them. Give them about 20 min on the other side. Adjust water if you need to. Then I remove foil and let them brown. Takes maybe 10 -12 minutes per side. They're tender, brown delicious.
Adjust your time and water as needed. I'm NOT A CHEF. I'm a southern, experienced, from scratch cook of 50+ years. Enjoy!!!
Can’t see bottom of video when you show the food
Thanks for your feedback
The supermarkets in B.C. are full of Johnsonville sausage ,,, as to why well that's a mystery ,,, the epitome of high priced garbage sausage ,,
Anyone watching this video, you should steam first to avoid the sausage coming out at the ends.
Next video search: "How to steam sausage before cooking"
Or cook them on the grill and enjoy them as they’re intended to be
Thank you so much for this! This helped so much!
Put a little water on the non stick pan with the sausage on it ( prick a hole on it to prevent from bursting) and cover. Turn in the other side on a low med heat and keep turning until it turns brown. It’s my husband’s favorite sausage or put it on a grill 👌
thats chorizo in latin america and mexico, sausage we call it to american sausage. Spaniards and italians call it similarly.
Thanks for watching!
not even close to chorizo
That not what the package says. Chorizo is a whole different color and not this plump. NOPE
My first viewing. Please adjust the camera to show us the sausages cooking and please show us the internal temps.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
brown little then finish oven way easier
Thanks for sharing.
Could you substitute the oil for water if need be?
You use the oil first to
brown the sausage and then add the water to cook through the sausage.
you cook them in the oven cause the dripping ruin your pans.. put them on foil in the oven at 350 and rotate every 5 minute till done..you can throw the foil away and save your pans. ps where is the 5th sausage lol...
Thanks for sharing your suggestion, however personally I would not cook on foil, that is just my preference. I cooked it a few days before 😊🫣
Cook these low and slow in strained bacon grease.
Don't see this in the store anymore not the spicy..
Oh ok.
Trader Joe's have hot Italian sausage
Walmart has the spicy ones in the store. I'm going to cook some as we speak lol
i hate when people say cook till a certain temperature . not everyone has a thermometer for food 🤣
Well you have to mention what is the safe temperature.🤷🏽♀️ It is encouraged though that everyone try to get a thermometer.
❤a
if you're cooking pork you should get a meat thermometer to be safe
I cook them in microwave
Ok. Thanks for watching!
You put ‘em in plastic bag
Bake'em
Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
You got rid of all the flavour by cleaning the pan. You should've just added the water, put on the lid and let it cook until the water is gone.
Valid point…
Need to have better audio quality to hear you.
Thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching! Here is another nice recipe ua-cam.com/video/ph-yWWZ9ZZE/v-deo.html
You don’t take the plastic covering off?
The casings are not plastic they are edible. However if you wish you can remove the casing if you like.
They are not plastic, these would be natural casings. Natural casing would be the intestines of Sheep, Pigs or Cows pending what size of sausage you want. We would Never boil them as we like our casings to have a snap to them when you bite into a sausage link. Cast iron pan for inside is also a preference. That being said the great thing is that you can make them how ever you like them best!
😂
Lmao nah you can’t be forreal 😂😂😂
Very slow video 😮
I am sorry, but thanks for watching! Here is one of my latest videos on making a really refreshing drink needed for this hot weather. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/J_Od3dskCXk/v-deo.htmlsi=JT4r8AIpb4NSWbjZ
Toooo slow!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
No water when cooking brats!!
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Look at these in the grocery store and they visibly have so much fat, that juice is not juice, it's fat. Not for me thanks.
I can understand I personally don’t eat process meats often only very rarely.
You did it completely backwards
My intentions was to simply highlight the companies instructions for preparing the sausages.
