Fishing In Front Of Alcatraz Island Found Some Really Good Fish
Don't forget we have a website for all the fishing information you will ever need for your adventures and I cook everything I catch:
please visit: www.24ksportfishing.com
Today, we fished in front of Alcatraz Island on an incoming tide and chased bait around the north end of the island. We did catch alot of smaller fish but the big ones were in the mix and eating up the nice Jumbo Anchovy J&P Bait provided. We attempted a few hours outside of the golden gates and ended up coming back in due to swells being unfishable, we hoped and that's all we wanted was a try, we just have to wait until the early and fall days to try again. We caught everything on this day, Stripers,Halibut,Rockfish and Lingcod, the wind was super spotty one minutes is unfishable and the next is next to no wind leaving us scratching heads on spots but we managed to scrape up some fish despite having engine issues. More on that later
I have some work to do on the engine not sure when I can get back out but we will try to as soon as I fix the boat.
not sure when I will see you on the water but it will be soon I assure you.

I was the only maintenance guy on alcatraz island for 24 years, on my lunch hour on the west side used 2oz bucktails and caught many bass and rock fish, back in the late seventies had a boat and caught some Big lincods at alcatraz also
Brought back amazing memories! Thanks for commenting
Good day brotha I was right behind you getting our bait I tried to see if you gave me eye contact to say hi but you were busy navigating good catch
oh really? yeah I had my mind set on filming but will keep an eye open for subs or fellow youtubers haha, nice!
Bro this trip was sooooo much fun!
Not too bad, if we had a healthy crew and motor...ugh.
Saltwater ulterra is the best! Nice vid. Thanks for sharing.
Thank u for watching and commenting, I appreciate the interactions with my viewers a lot :-)
Use a GAFF!!! Use net when they are shakers.. halibut always jump the net!
Lol, we love the challenge ahahaaa
Get a gaff on the boat!
@@Fishkiller84 we like a challenge lol
Dam. Good shiet. Hows the trolling motor working out? Does it makes drifting less easier? Also, whats the best time u prefer to go to the bar?
Going to quit attempting the Bar until early mid to late fall, cause each time we try summer its too nasty out there. trolling motor is helping to keep us on some really hard to get to spots that would otherwise be unfishable so will be using it to do things we like to do so its been a helping hand for sure.
@@24ksportfishing53 i figure i try the bar this week. I was out there last week and all i caught were sharks. Sharks were everywhere!
Do you launch from Berkeley ?
We typically launch out of the Marina Bay Yacht Harbor since it gives access to a wide array of techniques for our fishing style rather than just drifting or trolling, also late in the day when Berkeley becomes unfishable Angel island gives us a few more hours or fishing since its always protected from the winds shooting through the gates, if you launch at Berkeley you pay the price by midday often
@24ksportfishing53 .. yah, I have a smaller boat and we been having ugly trips. We launch from Richmond.
Great job guys.
Hey Captain do you ever take out subscribers?
I have considered it and have been asked by many sub before, I will eventually open it up for that but need to make sure the boat is healthy before I invite subs aboard, but would love to sometime. last outting we had engine issues and had to troll home so working out the kinks with the engine before we can even hope for another outting :-(
@24ksportfishing53 thanks for responding, I appreciate that.
Hope you get all the kinks worked out.
