Halibut Fishing SF Bay Paradise Cay In the Rain Storm - Are We Insane?
Don't forget we have a website for all the fishing information you will ever need for your adventures and I cook everything I catch:

We had a pretty decent outting for the most part. The rain just kept coming the entire day and the wind with it. We expected the 15-20mph winds and it to be 100% rain out there, but the water was suprisingly calm for the conditions as you might see in the video. There were a ton of fish and bait marked everywhere with birds contantly circling above helping us locate the bait. We marked all the spots and found some huge balls so we ended up marking almost a 1000 foot section that we ran back and forth over with and against the tides at 1.5 mph and 3 mph. When changing directions you have to change speeds but we were Successful at Halibut and Stripers if we adjusted accordingly. Occassionally we switched over to lures to see if we could get them to bite anything else since they were very active but we lost interest in that.
The weather prevented us from hitting some spots we wanted to, since the cold rainy wind was pounding our faces leaving us to stay in cover behind the mountains and even that is spotty however we managed to make it a day despite the weather challenges.
Trolling absolutely works if you are on the incoming tide around angel island since we picked up a few Stripers in 10 to 15 feet of water using Rat-l-Traps hugging the shore safely in about 5-10 feet of water. Overall it was a great day. The secret to fishing in the rain comfortably is dress for it, full 100% rain proof gear and dress warm and a little rain make fishing even more interesting if you can avoid the wind.
Thank you for watching and see you on the water!
Heavy rains kept coming, Winds kept coming, spots were limited due to both. We just knew we only have Saturdays to fish and we will take whatever we get for the conditions. Fishing during the week is not possible without taking time off work so if we have a planned day to fish we just have to take what mother nature dishes up since we wer itching to get back out for some redemption. The fish are out there almost everywhere during the rains, but winds and rain is all that might force a spot move even if you are on them, the weather is on you! We found fish and we will be back to find more and probably with nicer weather so stay tuned and subcribe if you like the content, Thank you to those that are watching and supporting the season, it's already looking pretty awesome despite the weather lol
looks like your going to need a new net!! Good fishing bro!! get out there and fish!! Rain don't hurt the wind is what you have to watch ! The fish are already wet!!! LOL great day
Haha, true! I have a new Net :-) and will try to patch up the old one, landing bigger fish is putting a beatin on the net haha, you are right, the wind can ruin a good day but rain, no problem!
Man what a day, the rain was brutal but we put them halibut’s on the deck! Captain Rick for the win!
I know brotha! if we had access to our spots to try without the wind and rain in our face it would have been optimal but we had to go where we had cover. We did try some spots but we payed dearly for trying and ending up needing to find cover. Glad we found a working zone and the fish so that was worth it hahaha
I like it. You getting creative bro. Keep going my dude
For sure, trying to make video for 4K TV, espisode style video..
@@24ksportfishing I know you can do it.

What program are you using for your planning? Is that Google Earth? Would be to have a video on how you plan and what programs/apps you use in that process.
Thanks!
I don't have a single program but use mutliple tools so, Yes it is google earth for the spot views and if you visit my website all my tools are there for all my subscribers www.24ksportfishing.com check out the links and see which one you like, every outting I use every link there to plan an outting I like the navionics charts because of the depth and contouring floor maps to see where to target zones during tides, but.......one day I can make a how I plan my day video :-) which is alot like this video just behind the scenes, while my buddies just go, i plan to go so we can have the best shot at catching.
Is that garmin livescope?
It is, its the: Garmin 010-01864-00 Panoptix LiveScope paired with the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 94SV, it does a great job for fishing in the deep and does a fairly decent job at the shallows even though cone angles are shorter it does still give us visible confirmation of what the 2D see, only the Livescope see fish and bait swimming in real time
Right on thank you
My question is, why are you using spinning reels with a conventional reel just a question and I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep killing the halibut.
Truthfully, they were really cheap on sale and I needed 8 of them and they work lol, but maybe one day we can upgrade to a matching rod since we love the coldwater alot! does such a great job at multiple species minus the larger sharks that can spool you out in the ocean but inside the Bay it holds its own. I haven't caught less fish on the Rods we have and have not really thought about it, truthfuly, but you guys watching my videos are pretty hardcore in seeing that! you are not the first to ask that but that's a great question! and the answer, No real reason other than cheap
