Much better design than USS Discovery or w/e that glorified taxi was in STP.

I'm imagining the end of Voyage Home. The Enterprise's command crew is onboard the shuttle, traveling to their new ship. They fly over the Excelsior, and they see this ship... Yep, it works! This is what I would imagine a new-generation starship would look like if the technology developed for the Excelsior (excluding transwarp drive) were to be applied to a Constitution-class hull.
It would have made perfect sense; in the particular case of the Enterprise-A, it would have been a new ship, but theoretically other Connies could have been refit along these lines. I can easily imagine this design lasting all the way to Next Generation, perhaps taking the Excelsior-class's place as the most oft-used ship in Starfleet. She would have made an excellent USS Stargazer.
BTW, the way that you've strengthened the neck without making it look awkward was outstanding!
One minor (constructive) criticism is that Enterprise-A - even this one - should be noticeably smaller than Excelsior IMO.
This design is being used now in the Enterprise E, F and G, like Gene ahead of their time. Not sure why the flashing lights in space nobody can hear you scream or see the flashing lights.
She's like a fusion of the Connie and the execelcer
this should have bin the enterprise b in cannon. it shows the evolution between the enterprise a, and the enterprise c...... love it.

It's a nice-looking ship, but it feels more like an early 24th century design, an intermediate between the Excelsior and Ambassador classes.
It looks like a great fit for the TNG Era for sure

I hope if you are asked by a tv network who are looking to make a new Star Trek series that wants to use your enterprise as the main focal point you absolutely say YES your starship is by far the best looking ship that will ever be associated with the franchise and needs to be recognised for its sheer beauty and grace.
Dramatic. However, I question the depiction of "banking" as the ship turns, in a low-gravitation field.

I thought the ship was big but still smaller than the excelsior at around 400 or 450 meters. But now the ship looks even bigger than the excelsior. How big it is? 500 meters?
It's weird that this is the Enterprise-A, it feels like a refinement of the Sovereign class.
I was thinking the same thing, this ship looks like it belongs in Picard's era, rather than Kirk's.
More like a predecessor... think if the Excelsior and Sovereign had a love child.

Just awesome! THIS is what the Enterprise-A should have been like. Not just being lazy and just using the same old model from before and just putting an "A" on it and calling it the new Enterprise.
I was never happy with that decision they made in The "Voyage Home"!

This should have been the ambassador class rather than the monstrocity they made. It looks like it could be a mid point between excelsior and galaxy.
It should be considered a different class of starship and it looks like a predecessor of Voyager. 👋
Nice work! What were render times like?
No too bad. The models around 6-12 hours each (per shot), the backdrops around 4, then all layers rendered in AE around an hour. Not messing with complex particle effects so thats about the sort of times for this one.

Good job! But it still lacks a high quality cinema look, can’t totally put my finger on it, but I think the pace of the ship mixed with a fixed ship lighting maybe why. The ship lighting should be more dynamic and less bright, especially on close ups.. there is nothing in space to saturate the same brightness level of light hitting the entire outer hull at the same brightness intensity

its like the Low-cost high-performance Variant of the Excelcior, perfect for turn of the 24th Centrury era. Seriously you shouldn't have named it the Enterprise tho. Dont get me wrong, Yes its Brilliant & beautiful IN & OF ITSELF! but she aint no Constitution-Refined update etc. Still better than Ghey-Ghey Abrams could do tho. Excellent work. But please dont mess with a 60yo Icon. :|
If I was a bit Harsh.. I apologize if need be. I know you put a ton of good work into it.. And it shows. It stands on it's Own Legs, honestly! I really appreciate this since even Star Trek: Phase II got shut down and actors making guest apperances would get black balled. etc.. what ever happened to my Star Trek, we owe much Scientific & Engineering progress to it. Even the Cellular PHONE was Inspired by it. srsly look it up if ya dont believe

Bold statement to name this NCC-1701-A, but Discovery seems to blown a hole in any canon so all bets are off I guess. It does looks very nice though. Well done.

There already is an Enterprise A. You're confusing people.
Think of this as a what could have been. The Enterprise NCC-1701A will always be a Constitution class refit but this Enterprise is a worthy ship deserving of the name Enterprise
Not a fan of the design at all, but really like the animation.
As an engineer, seeing the "Enterprise" go to warp from Earth to Jupiter with the Asteroid belt in between makes me cringe....a forward deflector cannot push an asteroid out of the way.
Yeah, but the astroid belt also isn’t nearly as densely packed as depicted here. In fact your odds of hitting one if you go in a straight line are obscenely low.

It fits in great with the style of the ships in ST 1-6. Is this meant to be for an alternate timeline where only one Constitution Class ship sported the Enterprise name and number?
I'm working on a Blender design for a small TOS era ship, something more like a light escort, civilian transport type of ship. Always felt the genre is short on small ship designs that are more akin to a luxury yacht.
Yes, according to Spencer who designed her, she is his vision of what we might have got if they had the budget to design a new ship for STIV.

i definitely see the connection here Spencer was trying to make between OG Enterprise and Enterprise D, particularly in the lower hull.

This was really good. If anything.... Is there any way you can blur the image slightly so it looks less computer generated? i just feel that its too sharp which takes away from it. Also the impulse engines could do with a bit more glow. Otherwise excellent
I would have done this for Enterprise-B. Better and more advanced looking than the Excelsior. Enterprise-A I would have still done as the "Connie" refit. But that's my take. :)

Gorgeous design, though I totally check-out when you go all in on the evils of Hollywood and couch-hopping crazy hyper-self-righteous. Too bad you can't divorce the two.

That's a Thick Lady there. Baby Got Back. I mostly like it. the giant blue eye of god for the dish is *a bit* much. Would make a good Alt-B/C given the dev cycle. But I'm good.
