Rep. Keicher calls for PUA overpayments to be waived; support workers & families displaced by COVID.

State Rep. Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) speaks during a press conference today calling for immediate state action to waive all “claw back” debt owed by Illinoisans who received Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) in 2020 amid the COID-19 pandemic that received benefits in excess of the amount they should have received due to an error by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), which incorrectly calculated applicants’ benefits based on their gross income as opposed to net income.
