This was recorded in Logic Pro with a Roland TD27.
I really like the Steven Slate samples! Thanks for the time and effort to put it all out there!
Nice work on this, definitely very helpful! 🤘🏼
Samples sound great, but the playing sounds even better! Great timing, killer groove!
Thank You Ryan, Just What We Needed To Hear....
Happy it was helpful!
Great effort has been put into this , thanks for this !
Thanks! Happy to do it.
Thank you so much for this awesome work! Very useful and informative. 👍
So glad this was useful for you!
Hell of a job))))) but someone had to do it. Thanks man.
Happy to do it!
Спасибо.
I recently bought EZDrummer 3 but i still have a soft spot for SSD5, as ive done lot's of recordings with it. It can sound a bit more "drum machine" than EZDrummer but it absolutely cuts through the mix with hardly anything needing doing to it
good video, good production as well. deserving of more subscribers for sure. if anyone were asking (and they're not 😉) I expect more content (regularly posted) would help get the word out. My request? As a newbie to recording in general I would love a step-by-step on the basics of how to use SSD5 (how to set it up, how to assign keys, etc.)...
Sorry for the reply that’s 7 months late. I would love to start putting out more videos on a regular basis. And that’s a great topic to cover. More coming soon.
Perfect video! I have the Steven Slate 5.5. Can I have a third crash cymbal as an option with a different diameter (18",19" and 20 "Crash) in every set I make? I can't get a third cymbal except for china
Great video Ryan thank you. May I ask a quick question. I have a TD50x that I use to record with all internally using the module and SD card. If using SSD can the module still be used to record using SSD or does the recoding need to be done via an external capture such as computer etc? Sorry to be asking this.
Thanks for watching! To record from your TD50 into SSD, you will need to connect to a computer via usb or midi. Hope that helps!
Hi Ryan, do you think SSD5 have enough black metal grooves ?
What do I need to make my drums sound like this in my headphones or external speakers?
Is there any chance you added any processing to the sound? I just bought it and am comparing what I hear on my DAW to this video, and your sound is much bigger and thicker (I don't think its just a volume issue), at least on the snare samples (I also made sure I was doing rim shots hitting max velocity). If not, maybe it's the UA-cam Compression?
It doesn´t look like it (In Logic, the left side there´s a tab where you can add "Audio FX", and there aren´t any). However, he´s clipping around 3-5 dB + UA-cam compresses the sound, which may be making it louder and beefier than normally
Right, there was no processing added to the samples. I wanted this to be as transparent as possible. Like @thedolorpolar said, it’s likely gain + UA-cam compression.
Just add saturation and it’ll make them sound bigger and thicker
Puh... Ez drummer vs ssd5?
I have been using ssd free firnyears and I must say that I enjoyed the 1 kit so much. Also becazse of the tweaking of attack and release.
But they say that ssd kits are always so overproduced and always hit so hard... True?
Does it have Rim Clicks. i use them a lot in my real drumming but I don't have a live kit at home to record demos so I'm looking for something that has them included in the library
I remember when Slate first got started. They mailed out one shot WAV samples burned onto a CD with a DIY jewel case and label. Lol.
Wow! Hope you kept that historical artifact. 😆
@@ryanrichardsondrums I still have it.
Hello! Can you please share .mp3 or .wav or .m4a sounds of deluxe 2 alternative kit? I want to play drums but i dont have PC to use this plugin
I'm from Indonesia, I like the library, can I ask for the drum library?
Thank you for this video. You saved me money as I decided to not buy this software. I like the kick drums, but nothing else really. My perspective is coming from ELE drums, and I still like that more especially with the new update.
Which snare would you say you could get the most snare buzz out of? Sometimes that's the sound you are looking for..
I like the buzz you get out of the Zeppy snare. Although, on any kit you can turn up snare bottom for more buzz.
Oh my God this is almost 2 hours long!
It’s a doozy
I am very underwhelmed by ssd5.5. Big issue is the hats sound terrible especially doing open patterns very bashy I also think the rooms sound over the top .
@@yyyy17368 hi I mean the room is one of those 1990s huge rooms . Anywhere I've had a bit more luck since posting this .hats still bad tho .

@@marcpeiron_studio es que siento que todo suena igual
