To all the commenters talking about tax dodging etc., you do know that once upon a time back int' olden days, there were no bank cards, do you not? As long as their till rolls (or digital equivalent) are kept for inspection they are doing nothing wrong. They are simply avoiding the transaction charges associated with taking card payments, as is their right. It probably helps them to stay in business giving the apparent amazing value of what they are selling.
I totally agree, Banks make money on every card transaction, with Cash the shop saves about 3% or more in costs, it pay the wages or gets passed on in cheaper food prices. If everyone stops using cash the banks will have us where they want us, then we will be charged a 3-5% FEE and pay even more, The Banks love Fee's, it fills their pockets, People need to wake up we are losing control of our Money.
I had fish and chips on friday last week. 13 quid, and it was absolutely shocking! Those chips are hand cut in the chippy! That's a proper looking chippy dinner!

Only thing that let's the Chippy down is, it's not open long enough. Fish is bang on cooked to perfection (despite what people say on FB groups), proper fishcake, proper brown chips, none of that veggie oil anaemic chips here.

Having had a restaurant myself in the past, this is perfectly normal. Simple practice with as little involvement from the robbing banks as possible.

loving the stream as always i am now 68 and a young teen ager my grandparents lived in Outwood just outside Wakefield and the fish shop (not chippy lol ) sold only fish chips and specials and nothing else and of course all done in beef dripping as a 12 year old i used to watch the fish being skinned sat outside served up wrapped in the local newspaper which my nan used sit there eating her dinner and reading the paper many thanks for all the time and work you put into your videos cheers 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I live in Oldham and none of the chippies as far as I'm aware cook in beef dripping, have to go over the border into Yorkshire to get some, nearest I know is Outlane fisheries and the food is superb.

The total for what you paid could have accommodated a couple to have had a cheap meal out at a restaurant! Sadly, despite the taste and look of the food it really comes down to affordability and cheapness for me. Everything has gone up these days so every penny counts. The average cost for fish and chips with a small pot of curry sauce here in Leicester is £8.60. An enjoyable video upload. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Well Danny have never been there I am from the south where Fish and Chips are cooked more healthier. How can you rate that with a high mark Ok portions looked Fish cake looked disgusting to much batter and fish looked greasy and overcooked and those chips to looked greasy and over cooked. So 3/10 for that lot. You should have Tartare sauce instead of that gravy and curry sauce and mussy peas are a no no/
no chance mate no one eats tartare sauce, especially in the north, scotland, northern ireland they dont even have it often times. Curry and gravy is by far the better sauce for chippy food.
The fish does look lovely, but the batter is far too dark, I hope the oil isn't too old, judging by the colour, fresh oil gives a more lighter coloured batter, and lighter coloured chips, good to see you enjoying yourself though*🤪😋😜**
So the question is: are they charging those low prices because they are ignoring the inflation on ingredients and taking a financial hit with every meal, or are they charging a reasonable price for the cost of ingredients, and the prices we are being charged elsewhere are just gouging for profit? I had fish and chips from there, it was too well done and dry. I prefer Barracuda in Ossett.

The beef dripping was too hot, it's got through the batter into the fish which makes it dry.

Well Danny have never been there I am from the south where Fish and Chips are cooked more healthier.
How can you rate that with a high mark Ok portions looked Fish cake looked disgusting to much batter and fish looked greasy and overcooked and those chips to looked greasy and over cooked. So 3/10 for that lot.
You should have Tartare sauce instead of that gravy and curry sauce and mussy peas are a no no/

no chance mate no one eats tartare sauce, especially in the north, scotland, northern ireland they dont even have it often times. Curry and gravy is by far the better sauce for chippy food.

The fish does look lovely, but the batter is far too dark, I hope the oil isn't too old, judging by the colour, fresh oil gives a more lighter coloured batter, and lighter coloured chips, good to see you enjoying yourself though*🤪😋😜**
Gravy doesn't belong on fish imo. Bit of curry but mushy peas is my go too. Each to their own though.

So the question is: are they charging those low prices because they are ignoring the inflation on ingredients and taking a financial hit with every meal, or are they charging a reasonable price for the cost of ingredients, and the prices we are being charged elsewhere are just gouging for profit? It does make you wonder.
