Even an expensive Chinese is cheaper than ordering from Dominos in terms of how much food you get and it’s quality and value. Should have been a solid 10. I’d rather pay 12.50 for a smaller munch box filled with quality than have more food that isn’t as good for the same price. There’s more to it than just “how much do you get for the money.”

Yes! A proper Chinese restaurant review would be good. Even like a Taiwanese/Hong Kong style fast food place would be interesting. We have some good ones in Sheffield not too far from his neck of the woods

Often wobbled out of social club and into there for a Quality Chinese. Decent chip shop opposite it too if it’s still there. Kirkstall the area he’s in is one of the most congested parts of the city. It’s like the town planner doesn’t like the area. New road required, not through Kirkstall. Oh and build loads of shops and houses but keep the roads the same size.

damn man, its been near impossible to find duck near me the last few years. Growing up I had a real fancy asian cuisine restaurant near me, they had these massive banquet dinner reservation slots for holidays with limited capacity, whole duck was the main course with fixings to make wraps and everything else you could think of related to eating duck, then obviously they had a menu available for extras. Probably the closest thing to a proper feast I've ever experienced. We used to go there with family until they closed probably circa 2005. After college and all that when family holidays got scaled down a bit, I still made it a point to find a duck to eat at least for New Years, had a local Chinese place that offered it up until covid, then guess they cut duck off the menu for supply reasons. And another place I found fairly local did the same shit in 2022, offered duck that I purchased in 2021 and the next year it was gone. Most recently this past New Years I found another place pretty local that also offered duck, so I got it, but it was screwed. Straight up costed near 40 bucks and container had probably like 8 meager pieces of duck and the rest was all stupid ass vegetables not worth $40. Won't be getting it from there again. Guess now if I want to eat duck again I'm going to need to purchase an uncooked one and learn to cook duck myself.

The average business will lose more by not accepting card payments. Usually these cash only places even do accept card. They just put cash only to try and get people to go do that. Guaranteed if cash is paid then that order never existed.

That boat wasn't the "Dry Dock" pub near the university, the Dry Dock is a pub inside a boat, it is very popular with students and if you like something out of the ordinary, it is a unique Leeds pub.
The day a Chinese takeaway make their own chips will be a game changer. Frozen chips and bell pepper chunks that haven't been properly deseeded doesn't sell me I can't lie! Especially if I'm paying 12 quid for it.
That's interesting. I think I've only ever come across one place that did frozen chips. Didn't go back and it didn't last. Always been fresh up here in North Wales. In fact, best local chippy is also a Chinese and excels at both.
