I'm in Cumbria, UK. We've an organisation named Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS) who used to promote and advise on energy saving, insulation, waste management, and ran workshops and talks on such. A few years back they started promoting Net Zero and talks to businesses about CO² reduction. Meanwhile, I was researching in the opposite direction as my career has been in horticulture and arboriculture, and knew something was very wrong with the picture being pushed.. Once I started to find all the alarming connections and lack of, re CO², climate change et al, I shared basic info with CAfS and hit a wall. Clearly as with Gvmt and businesses too, their jobs and funding rests on sharing the deceptive paradigm pushed worldwide by the likes of the (criminal) UN & IPCC. I'll keep pushing and writing, but it's like people won't listen unless you've a PhD.....or they're too frightened to.
Keep up the good fight! Thanks to the likes of Paul, Prof William Happer, Dr Judith Curry, Steve Koonin, Dr Patrick Moore and all the rest, who were called 'deniers' and 'in the pay of big oil', there are more and more people opening their eyes to what's really going on here.
Thanks for doing this Paul, it is good to be armed with this type of knowledge to counter anyone, at shops, supermarkets, neighbours, relatives etc etc I will watch the whole of it, as you suggest, in smaller bites, easier to digest and remember..😀👍
Wow Paul, that was exceptional. What a great start to 2025. I normally run out of steam for most UA-cam videos over 10 minutes (except yours). I started watching with the intention of watching for maybe half an hour and then coming back another time to watch a bit more. I've just sat through the whole video as I couldn't drag myself away. I love what you do and the way you present what can sometimes, for me at least, be a difficult subject to get my head around. (I know what my eyes see, and my memory is still quite sharp, so I know we are constantly lied to). You have an excellent way of simplifying things so even I can understand. I also agree 100% with what you had to say over the last few minutes of your video. I won't mention the party you talked about or the person in case it's picked up by UA-cam algorithms and causes you problems. Please keep up the great work.

I can’t stress enough how impressive this content is and how vital it is we share with as many people as possible. Excellent production - I really did watch the whole thing in one go. One point I would make is that I think Paul may be unaware of the huge price fall on domestic solar panels, which now average only around £60 or £70 per panel of about 450w (compared to £250 for only 400w just 3 years ago). I only mention this because I think Paul is wrong to say that home solar doesn't make economic sense in the UK. You can run simulation software like PVGIS and you can watch youtube videos and the conclusion is that it certainly does make economic sense, and the payback time seems to be around 7 or 8 years. And if electricity prices go up like Paul predicts, the payback time is even less. For myself, I am dead against commercial wind and solar and other "renewables", but can see they do often make sense on peoples roofs. Keep up the good work Paul!
They make no sense without a battery and with a battery have a payback time of about 8 to 11 years. It depends where you are. The further north the less energy you get. You have to factor in the replacement battery very ten years or so and the fact that the feedback tariff is now costing too much and will probably be reduced.
Vincent, yes solar panels have come down in price but the overall running, maintenance, cost of replacement of parts which burnt out when it was 40° & the lack of solar energy for around four months of the year, is unsuitable for many busy families, often cash-strapped families, young & old. For the last five years, I’ve lived totally off the grid; own water, solar, generators, 8x 140 amp batteries (£100 each, which last for 2 years). It’s not an easy life but I took early retirement to see if there’s a chance the majority could life a ‘Net Zero’ life. There’s also the impact on the environment of producing all the components to meet the targets requested by Gvt & every other fool who’d have no idea how to live this kind of life unless they’ve plenty of resources to fund it.

The panels themselves are so cheap, if you have enough roof space to throw large numbers up there, you get the benefit of a fixed overhead (inverter and installation fee more or less), and low marginal cost of panels. There are loads of videos where people are showing their monthly generation, imports/exports and cash flows that seem to confirm this. Batteries at this time are too expensive but like the panels, may come down in the future. Cheers.

Concerning gas fired power stations as backup for renewable power: that may economically not be viable, as recently acknowledged in The Netherlands. As a result, some GFPS may terminate operations, which, in that case, will leave another hole in our energy supply. Perhaps we should import flywheel power from the UK by then?
Jacob, in the U.k. at least gas is not 'just' a back up, other countries may differ by using a different sources but still despatchable. What gas does is to keep the grid in supply and demand balance which the more wind and solar that is connected gets harder. The grid needs a power source that is controllable to do that so gas is actually the backbone of the grid and would collapse very quickly without it, not due to the supplying of power when wind and solar are low but supplying control. Although the video didn't say it in so many words, frequency is the criteria on which load and supply balance is measured.
A one ton workies van becomes half ton capacity once you add in the load of the batteries. No use whatsoever to a brckie or a ground worker with a cement mixer etc. Or an all trades guy with a full kitchen to install or a plasterer with 20 sheets of gyproc. Madness.
Its also fascinating that people from Nikola tesla and more after researched free energy have either had claims to find it to die or be shut down fast. Same with hydro cars, medic advancements etc
What extra energy is used to fill a battery backup system? When the wind is blowing and the sun is shining, the gas fire plants throttle back and all of the energy from the intermittent is utilized. What “extra” energy is used to fill a battery backup?
Wind power on average is 31% of the rated capacity - that is onshore in the twenty and offshore in the high 30's However sometimes it is say double that and if that occurs overnight there is no need for the energy that we still have to pay for. That is when it can charge the batteries. HOWEVER that is all rubbish because of the practical problems like the distribution network but above all the fact that there is no backup to charge - we may need 12 days and we have 2 minutes - hence it is all nonsense.
@@AtHomeTacticalDefense Last year 2024 in the UK about £1,000,000,00 worth was not used but still paid for. However there is no energy storage that is viable. All the ideas of energy story are absurd - there is nothing that can be developed to last more than a few minutes at great cost.
AtHome, unless you divert wind generation to the battery, it will be gas generation that charges the battery as that is our prime source of despatchable power. To clarify, not all the energy from wind and solar is used, it's not possible. There must be despatchable generation (gas, in the U.K.) to keep frequency stable (Frequency is the criteria used to measure supply and demand balance)

What extra energy is used to fill a battery backup system? When the wind is blowing and the sun is shining, the gas fire plants throttle back and all of the energy from the intermittent is utilized. What “extra” energy is used to fill a battery backup?
Wind power on average is 31% of the rated capacity - that is onshore in the twenty and offshore in the high 30's
However sometimes it is say double that and if that occurs overnight there is no need for the energy that we still have to pay for. That is when it can charge the batteries. HOWEVER that is all rubbish because of the practical problems like the distribution network but above all the fact that there is no backup to charge - we may need 12 days and we have 2 minutes - hence it is all nonsense.

@@AtHomeTacticalDefense Last year 2024 in the UK about £1,000,000,00 worth was not used but still paid for. However there is no energy storage that is viable. All the ideas of energy story are absurd - there is nothing that can be developed to last more than a few minutes at great cost.

unless you divert wind generation to the battery, it will be gas generation that charges the battery as that is our prime source of despatchable power.
To clarify, not all the energy from wind and solar is used, it's not possible. There must be despatchable generation (gas, in the U.K.) to keep frequency stable (Frequency is the criteria used to measure supply and demand balance)
