Wow, I'm impressed with the stairs. Well done Marius. It looks like you may have a small length of stairs left to maybe access the loft bedroom [for guests] from the 'landing' upstairs area?.
Hi Sindy. There’s no loft bedroom other than the one in the little house. I’ve got only two steps left and I think I’ll use the wood to reinforce the stairs. I’m a big heavy guy so I need sturdy stairs 😀
That ivy will destroy that wall. I think you will want an eve or that walkway will be really wet when it rains. If you would spray the original wall with water before you render, would the lime still crack?
Yes the lime would still crack. We do love to have the ivy there. The walkway has french drains installed with 4” of gravel on top so even during a massive downpour it’ll be no issue.
Good thinking! I screwed on an angle from the step into the sideboard. This obviously all on the underside of the steps so that the screwheads are out of sight. The straight part of the stairs was held together by 6 screws on each side, I.e. 3 steps were holding the whole thing together. I have now got 4 screws in each step to make it stronger than by design.
When I saw you reading instructions I thought it was the wrong channel. Great work and problem-solving as always.
True. Who do these manufacturers think they are telling me what to do?!?!
This is a great looking staircase.....looks amazing and I am sure Nadia will love it. Great wood storage unit! Great week!
Thanks so much Jane!
I’m impressed with the staircase! I’ve never seen a prefabricated one before. Cool. Your makeshift shelter looks amazing. Your chickens are lovely 💙
Thank you Lorrie😀
That’s a pretty stylish firewood cover. What well behaved chickens they look so healthy and well cared for.
They’re our babies. Only the best is good enough for them 😀
Your chicken children are lovely.❤
Yes, they’re my babies
Very nice storage, but the ivy is destroying the stone wall! Ivy gets between the stones and water gets in too!
But it looks great!
It's looking absolutely great! It's also lovely to see your girls and hey hey doing their thing too 🙂
Thank you!! 😊
It’s a real turning point getting the staircase in (excuse the pun). You’re doing a great job. We’re all proud of you. ❤❤❤
Thank you Carolyne😀
You are brave captain, I wouldn’t know where to start with those stairs pre-made or not . 😂
It’s not about being brave. It’s a combination of naivety and stubbornness 😀
Nice jobs Marius you have been a very busy man .Its all coming along well now. Love you let the chickens come in with you. Loved watching Marius😘
Thanks Annette. Yes coming months most pieces of the puzzle will be falling into place

Always a challenge, installing stairs by yourselves. Well tackled! Just curious: how did you reconnect the steps to the lefthand beam?

If you coer the waste bin you will have to keep dragging it out every time you want to put anything in it ??
Exactly my thought.❤
Yep, it didn’t work. I’ve relocated the bin this week.
Are you going to fix the floor? Looks awful!
A good sand and a coating. It’s nice hardwood
