A 1959 Ford hardtop retractable in pristine condition. This is the full cycle of putting the top down. Many small electric motors all have to be synchronized in order for this to work. Notice the custom made suitcases that match the car in the trunk.

I assume this is hydraulically operated and the engine must be running to lower and raise the top? Or perhaps it has an electrically operated hydraulic pump?

The engineering that went into this retractable roof. Oh my goodness!
I once read somewhere that the adjustment and timing of the roof mechanism is best left to someone with prior experience.
A very handsome and unique car!
When I was a little kid my mom once told me “Ford made a car with a roof that folded into the trunk.”
