Black Flag is what made me realize the magic of open world games. I enjoyed the worlds of the games before it, but after playing it, I was completely turned on. I have Black Flag to thank for getting me invested in the likes of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2, The Witcher III, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, and Breath of the Wild just to name a few.
Just started assassins creed origins after years of not playing the franchise, and I can honestly say It’s one of the better maps/Games I’ve ever played
And to Origins as well. In fact, the desert regions in Origins is so monotonous with very little in the regions. The same definitely can't be said of Valhalla.
The difference is that origins and odyssey’s city and island actually look good. And Valhalla’s doesn’t. Don’t compare Valhalla’s maps to the other rpgs it’s not even close.

I've never played black flag, so I cant speak on that, but for me having played the majority of the other games I find this list mostly agreeable aside from origins being so low. Origins was truly an incredible world to explore and I think it needs to be up around where odyssey is. Odyssey i think could've been second, Gorgeous game
re: Valhalla - "fans" want Ubisoft to make the games as visually and historically accurate as possible and yet you complain when the landscape is.... accurate?
Y’all say what you want abt the ranking, but you have to admit, AC Odyssey’s and Origins’ maps are beautiful. And the fact that they take place in their ancient time periods, which let us see structures that are in ruins today. They are gorgeous maps
Reasons why this ranking is SO WRONG: 1) Origins should be higher up. The npc's are the most interesting npc's ever seen in the entire series with each npc having its own routine/patern. The open world is also really big, yet almost everything feels unique and it doesn't get repetitive very quickly and it's just super beautiful to say the least. 2) Assassin's creed syndicate should be somewhere in the bottom because it just isn't the right setting for an open world when it comes to an ac game, especially when talking about parkour and getting around the citty of London. This is proven by the fact that ubisoft had to develop a new tool to make it easier for people to move around, which wasn't necessary for any of fhe games that came before. And then I'm not even talking about the fact that it's just super boring to constantly have to zip line between buildings. The amount of content in the open world also gets pretty repetitive, like constantly having to free people from warehouses that all look pretty similar, just to give an example. 3) Odyssey should be way lower. The open world might look pretty good and there are a lot of important landmarks, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the rest of the map, such as regular villages and enemy camps, often look really similar and get repetitive and boring very quickly. The npc's also had a huge downgrade from Origins, with most of the npc's now feeling way more like ai rather than actual living beings since they don't have unique paterns anymore, they are way less reactive and most of the time they are just stupid. 4) The older games really don't get enough credit for the fun and smooth transitions when, for example, you climb through a window. To me this has always been a little element that made the parcour more interesting and I really used to enjoy it back in the day. Weirdly enough, the older games also had npc's that felt way better and way more alive than most of the modern games. Most of the time, I really agree with Mojoplays' rankings, but this one just really didn't sit fine with me because you can clearly see that the only thing that's being looked at, is the actual look of the open world and not the available content and, even then, the critiques are inconsistent since some of the open worlds (Odyssey's in particular) are very repetitive yet they still end up very high on the list.

origins may have been pioneered the vast open world of rpg type AC but for me Odyssey perfected the open world exploration that's the reason Valhalla looks vast but pretty boring at the same time the clues and locations is really hard to find when it's first released i agree BF will always have the greatest exploration and over all gameplay but sadly fans will always prefer the Ezio trilogy

the first game needs a remaster along similar lines to Shadow of the Colossus (i.e. from the ground up, not just a lick of paint). Would be great to release it along side Mirage, considering the similar setting and time period. For all its faults at launch, Unity still looks stunning to this day.

I was surprised that AC: II didn't get the number one spot because it normally does. Not that I'm complaining. I'm just surprised. But hey I do get why AC: Black Flag got number one.
Black Flag is still my all time favorite
Played ODYSSEY 3000 hours...the king of all games...
the first game needs a remaster along similar lines to Shadow of the Colossus (i.e. from the ground up, not just a lick of paint). Would be great to release it along side Mirage, considering the similar setting and time period.
For all its faults at launch, Unity still looks stunning to this day.
1. Origins
2. Odyssey
3. Valhalla
4. Black flag
5. Syndicate
6. 3
7. Brotherhood
8. Unity
9. Rouge
10. Revelations
11. 2
12. 1
In terms of map size and things to do etc

@@qrx9352 In terms of open world, yes ofc they are better. You are a foul if you deny
@@Forest762 false. SMALLED BUT DETAILED OPEN WORLD IS MUCH BETTER THAN BLOAT OF NEW TRASH GAMES.
