The first of three videos in production from our trip Canada! Next we’ll be heading east into the Alberta plains on the Brooks subdivision. Stay tuned!
Your video is superb. As a Canadian who has been a lifelong railfan and model railroader, the CPR in the Rockies is at the top of my list to railfan or model. The merger of the CPR and KCS has created a new set of opportunities for the company. Let's hope that the employees and railfans from Mexico, the USA and Canada will embrace CPKC. The Royal Canadian Pacific is truly a magnificent experience to see. Thanks. I hope that you enjoyed your trip to Canada and will return.
As someone who was born on the Canadian Pacific Railway in Chicago. I'm glad that the KCS fans and railroaders are being great sports about the beaver. I hope that your business train, the Southern Bell, will continue to ride the rails for years to come. Great video. Keep up the hard work. 👍
I'm a BC native from Canadian Pacific home territory... not fallen flag territory, or merger territory... territory that CP itself built. And one of my biggest questions before the merger was even completed was: "so what the hell happens to the southern belle?" - you don't generally hear about railroads with two simultaneous and completely distinct business trains... Hell, CP and KCS were already somewhat unusual just because they still HAD business trains operating at all. NS and UP have both retired theirs, and CSX/BNSF... well they seem to just hate the concept of heritage in general. And the less I say as a British Columbian about Canadian National... the better.
@@LouisianaRailProductions Very good point , I would do it in the dead of night with my trusty bow saw....... I keep my favorite spots trimmed and it is a pain , but worth it .
Your video of Golden is not quite "in" Golden and yet is golden to me. I'm no railfan but I've never seen this phenomenon before: a freight train giving way to a passenger train. I suspect luxury train tours get priority all the time. Then I measured a bit: this section is double-tracked for at least 6km on either side of the level crossing here. The longest freights are 5km long. The RCP is maybe 200m. What am I missing?
If you check Google maps and search for jumping creek, you’ll see that it’s right by Illecillewaet off of a brake check area. Seems like maps call the check area illecillewaet, while further down that gravel road is called jumping creek. Maps may be off, but as a newbie to this turf there very well could be a discrepancy on maps.
@@LouisianaRailProductions I understand as a newbie to the turf, you went by a road name. I'm certain this is the siding named Illecillewaet. By any chance did you use a rail traffic scanner in your chase?
Maroon, not burgandy. Only old Cadillacs are painted burgandy. The color was chosen to match the older cars' natural wood finish. This business/official train is not the same as the Royal Canadian Pacific train, on which tickets can be purchased, though some of these cars are used on the RCP.
@@LouisianaRailProductions Well, if you want to be 100% correct you should actually call it "Tuscan Red" because that was the official CPR name. So, the locos from this time were painted "Tuscan red and grey". Now you know!
Years of practice and taking notes of others that narrate like DistantSignal and several others. Trust me I look back at 3/4 year old videos of mine and wince haha!

cant wait another great documentary from LRP!
Fantastic work! Keep it up! Morant's curve is just stunning with those F units.
Was on the RCP back in August of 2007. First Class Plus!!
Nice video!😍😍❤❤
Just another outstanding rail chronicle by my young friend, Bishop! You're the best!!!
Thanks Mr. Ronnie! Means a lot!

We will definitely have to come back! I have nothing but good things to say about our week in Canada. Thanks for watching!
Wonderful to see these F units in use, that closing shot is incredible!
1401 has some insane milage for sure. The locomotive traveled through Canada, the USA, and Mexico in less than a year!

I appreciate your comment sir! The Belle is our baby so we hope so as well!

Um… CSX is getting their own heritage units and they put a lot of effort into making them.
Wow fantastic and beautiful video. We enjoyed watching once again and have a great rest of your weekend.(Steve)
Awesome video! That’s a very interesting train for sure.
The shot at 12:20 incredible! Well done
Spectacular Video. Beautiful scenery and excellent camera work. Much appreciated, as always.

It was nice meeting you guys at Morant’s Curve - great video work and production
We appreciate having someone to visit with during the “down time”. It was a fantastic way to pass the time!
@@LouisianaRailProductions I was the ‘local’ with the radio - I’ve watched more of your stuff - very well done !
Okay gotcha! I was wondering which one you were haha. Great meeting you man!

Great video Bishop😊
That was cool.
Me: **drop whatever I’m doing to watch**
Just got my tickets for her in 2025. Can't wait.
You sir are in for a treat! Absolutely one of my best experiences was riding aboard it. Enjoy!
Amazing work!
Great video of the train Bishop!
Great capture and coverage enjoyed
Great vid , I did this chase in the 1990's , looks like Morant's Curve needs a bit of tree trimming !
It’s in a national park, so I imagine there are hefty fees waiting for anyone who decides to take that task. Thanks John!

Spectacular. I completely understand why we would call him Buc-ee. But what to the caballeros en Mexico call him?
This is a question I need to know the answer to.
Super sweet catch. Where did you get the name Jumping Creek for that one shot? That looks like Illecillewaet to me.
We got it from the road name and it’s what pops up on google maps.
@@LouisianaRailProductions I'm pretty sure that spot is Illecillewaet. I've been there before.

And grey not silver. 🙂
Well I hope that didn’t ruin the video for you guys haha! Thanks for watching!
@@LouisianaRailProductions Well, let's just say it didn't help! Facts matter!
Why not use the empress
She's back in Calgary recovering from her Mexico trip! lol
Why is this beautiful train of Canada being announced by announced by an American with a southern accent?
Well my friend, that’s probably because I am an American with a southern accent haha!
My accent is a bit heavier. 😂😂
The paint scheme on the locomotives is grey and maroon - not silver and burgundy.
Ahhh well I’ve been corrected for saying Maroon as well! I’ll switch it next time haha! Thanks for watching!

Man i gotta figure out how to nail my voiceovers like you do, that is literally my LEAST favorite part of editing
