great review - it sounds like you're dialing it in just right. I was able to get a TR and am tweaking it now wheels/fork but will probably be upgrading brakes as well after a season.
@@adamtree Actually good point - I haven't ridden it yet, but I'd probably upgrade pads first (thanks for the suggestion) and then brakes if needed! Ride safe, brother.
Thanks for your thoughts, am planning on getting an S build TR for a similar use case (longdays of single track like Chequamegon 100, not long nights and days like MG!)
solid review, also, awesome trail. I'm in the market for one of these, currently have both a 2019 Santa Cruz Tallboy and a 22 Trek Supercaliber, looking for something to blend the two.
Thanks! The Blur is a pretty great bike and probably a really decent blend of those two. The frame lends to a few different build options so you can definitely tweak it to your liking. If you have questions there's a responsive Santa Cruz Blur owners group on Facebook too. facebook.com/groups/1437767033021034/
The new 370 hubs come with a star ratchet rather than the pawl system. Any of the DT star ratchets will now work. There is also a star ratchet upgrade kit for older 370 hubs so you can switch the ratchet system.
@@adamtree i am truly sorry for the out of date information. for my 2019 Blur i decided i may want to check out the higher engagement upgrade options. So 2 years ago i contacted worldwide cycle and they emailed me back and told me they did not have a upgrade for the 370 hub. at the time the new higher engagement came out and i was interested just to get a little more engagement. Thanks for the update and your time.

Thanks! You may have better results with the 180 rotors. Happy trails!

Awesome! I think you'll be happy with that choice (both the bike and race 🤣).
