I don’t think I heard Africa mentioned once in this interview. It was replaced buy the words, culture, Swahili and other words. The kanga represents the African culture and not just in East Africa but across Africa. I love both the Omani and Zanzibari culture but it’s sad that racism and whitewashing the Africa out of Zanzibar is done because black is still seen as somehow not as good as the other. There would be no true Omani modern day culture without Zanzibar or it would certainly be incomplete and the silent, unspoken history that links the two is beautiful Africa.

Kanga words is about conveying the message . You can wear yourself but your intension is the other person to get the message
