    Thank you so much for the real and detailed review on the Yamaha Stagepass 200. I am planning to get this 🙂

    Hi Scott...I was wondering if you could tell me if you could plug an acoustic-electric guitar (with preamp) directly into the 4/5 sum channel and if you've tried it? Reason for this is an acoustic duo with 2 vocals and 2 guitars. Vocals on 1 & 2 and guitars on 3 and 4/5. I can control tone right from the guitar for channel 4/5. You briefly mention it at the beginning of the video but I'm wondering if you tried the guitar in 4/5. Also, if the guitar works fine in the 4/5 channel, can you still use bluetooth (for break music) without having to unplug the 1/4" instrument cable? Thanks in advance and thanks for all your reviews on AGF. I'm not a member there but I follow a lot. Thanks!

      Hi, Sorry I'm just seeing this. Do you still this information? I'm not positive about your questions but I do still have the unit although I do have it up for sale on FB marketplace. I could easily check these questions for you if you are still considering buying one. Let me know. -Scott

      @@Methos19795001 hey no problem thanks for getting back. You know what I think I'm all set right now actually. Like most of us sometimes we have ideas and then a couple weeks later maybe they aren't the best so I don't think I'm going to purchase a stagepas 200 right now. Bummer it ultimately hasn't worked out for you because I'm kind of a Yamaha guy. But with that being said, the two Yamahas I've had to return in the past have been the stagepas 1K and the newer DXL1K. I'm back to my sweet spot which are the DXRMKIIs. Thank you!

      @@JHGurganus I get it, same here. The YSP200BTR was my backup system to our EV30M which we love. But I like having something smaller and with battery power (just in case). I used to have a couple Bose S1 Pro's which were great but since we're an acoustic duo I wanted something with more inputs, hence the Yamaha. The reality is I almost never need/use it so it's like new. But as someone that loves trying the 'next greatest thing' I jumped on the new Mackie ShowBox which is pretty cool with its detachable mixer which I like better than app control. I've got the 200BTR up on FBM for local sale only as I don't want to have to ship (don't have the original boxes). If it doesn't sell I'll just use it for my outdoor streaming music player.

      @@Methos19795001 sounds good and yes I see me getting something battery powered as well (possibly). I told myself no new gear this year but we all know how that goes! We do bigger outdoor concert in the park stuff to graduation parties, other private parties and small bars. Maybe an everse 8 with a Y XLR cable so I can run a guitar and 2 mics. We have a monthly senior living center gig where we use only a monitor and the everse would be great for that with a Lekato setup. As you know, quick and easy for that. I'd use our Allen & Heath CQ-18T and DXRs for our regular events especially when I gig with a friend so 2 mics and 2 guitars. My wife only sings (well shakes a tambourine) so usually 3 inputs are good plus stereo inputs for break music.

    Can you use the wireless Lekato inear monitor system with that?

      I don't see why you couldn't although I have no experience with IEM's.

      A relatively inexpensive one I got off Amazon. Lekato, I think. About a $100.

    How would I compare to Aer amps

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  6 місяців тому +3

      I have no personal experience with the AER amps other than hearing them in person - usually on the streets with buskers - and of course I know of their reputation. The AER 60/4 (their newest iteration) is a relatively small and lightweight amp that has great tone and gets fairly loud. The AER is 60 watts while the Stagepas is 200 watts. The Stagepas is physically a little larger and significantly heavier at 27 pounds vs the AER 15 pounds. But the Stagepas also has many more inputs than the AER and of course it is also battery powered (at least the BTR version is) while the AER needs external power. The AER is also significantly more expensive at $1,399 vs $849 for the Stagepas. So if you only need two inputs, don't need battery power, prefer lighter weight and don't mind paying the extra $550 then the AER is a great choice. For us, we need more inputs (duo with guitars and two vocals) and battery power so the extra weight is not an issue and of course the cost savings is significant as well.

    Hey.. nice review..
    Heard you mention the jbl eon compact .. would have liked an audio comparison.. if you dont have the jbl i saw your bose s1 pro video.. a comparison between the bose and the stagepass would be great also..

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  9 місяців тому +7

      The Stagepas is far superior both in overall sound quality and volume compared to the JBL Compact. I'd probably give the sound quality a bit of an edge to the Bose S1 Pro but the volume definitely goes to the Stagepas over the Bose. If you put something like a small mixer in front of the Bose to preamp the signals and give you more inputs then the Bose can get much louder. But we were looking for something that was a self contained unit with enough inputs for our duo without the need to carry and power any additional equipment so the Stagepas won out over the Bose S1 Pro that I used for several years. I have since sold both the Bose S1 Pros I had as well as the JBL Compact. If I didn't need the extra inputs and volume, the Bose S1 is hard to beat for size and weight. I was really hopeful when they came out with a new one that they would add a third full input AND boost the power for microphones but they did not so that's when we looked elsewhere, first the JBL Compact and then shortly thereafter the Stagepas.

      I just got lucky. A friend of mine recommend I look into them (after initially dismissing them) and I bought direct from Yamaha and the price was only like $659 for the battery model! Like a week later they pumped the price up to $859 and they were suddenly out of stock seemingly everywhere.
