Aren't they lovely making you send two back. It's an easy solution...put a DI out on the back...problem solved....but then you can run it through any PA....that would hurt their feelings. Just think about how the spark 40 could compete with Fishman if they added DI out and a XLR mic input....I could gig with it on the street if it had a XLR mic input. It's a pain in the ass using a little two input mixer and sending it into the 1/4" jack...the aux input doesn't cut it with a wireless mic alone. It does on the Fishman! But I don't have the battery version.....the Spark 40 can run off a 19v battery pack. They dropped the ball on a ton of stuff. I'm not spending another 300.00 bucks to lug around a cabinet that sounds like a flock of baby birds are living in the cabinet.
I had a high pitch whine when I hooked up the spark 40. I pushed the bottom button on the cab and mine went silent I was shocked all the whine and hum was gone. It was the push button under the XLR plug. ????? Go figure. It now sounds great.
@@IkeGuitar But you didn't fix the problem with any of the cabs that you had, you replaced them.(you fixed your problem but not the cabs problem) Those first two cabs still have an issue.
I’m in Australia, not sure if it makes any difference, but just bought a Spark Cabinet, hooked it up to my Spark 40, and I have no noise. If I turn the cab up all the way I can hear some noise otherwise good.
I returned two and went with Headrush FRFR instead. I understand the new production unit are allegedly quieter but I would be very cautious with 2nd hand units …
I was seriously considering pirchase. But this noise problem changed my mind. Im glad they sent you a silent one, i would order if i had confidence that mine would be quiet. But i KNOW they would send me a loudie! So im OUT. No Spark cab for me. THANK YOU!
Nice clickbait - does 'it' refer to the Cab, the Flaw, or the noise? Good work there. I have one of these and am waiting to see if the Spark Live is also junk. By the way I have two Spark 40s and they are great.
@@IkeGuitarIt's not hate. You make it sound like by the title that there's something you can do at home to remedy the problem yourself. It's misleading. I have a CAB with this issue and I was really hoping there was an at home fix.

Great video. I have almost bought one of these a half dozen times and I always chicken-out when I hear about the noise. I have tons of recording gear so this would only be for farting around but that noise would make me do a header into the drywall. This is a marketing failure for the textbooks. Positive Grid has nothing on their site that I can find that even mentioned the noise and tried to head off becoming the leprosy of FRFR cabs. It's sad because it's a great design loaded with features but you would have to physically try one out of the box at a brick and mortar location to make sure it's not a sleep sound machine. Having seen your video of them sending you a bad unit (untested of course) to replace the first one made me transition from WTF to WTFF? I want to buy something that just works correctly, not become pen pals with a support person overseas that responds to me every 3 days.

let me save you 9 minutes "... the unit I received was hissy, I returned it twice, they finally sent me one that wasn't hissy". That's it.

you must be fun at parties

@cugir321 did you not listen to the end. The flock of birds was resolved. Theirs no sound on any of them now, it was only the first run batch.

Some people just to conclusions before totally checking it out. I wouldn't want him as a customer. That's ridiculous sending all the others back
The Big question should be, why the hell are they still pushing out cabs that have that defect?
You didn't fix anything. You just went back and forth with CS to get one that doesn't have the issue. Very misleading title.
I fixed my problem by getting a replacement 🤷♀

Unless you live in Timbuktu, it is not difficult to get a replacement
@IkeGuitar I did that once and just like you, my second one still has a lot of floor noise. So I decided to just live with it.
