ShaDHP23 The entire Ark segment was unbelievably sad, especially finally learning Waka's backstory. This theme encapsulates the emotions of that part perfectly: it's melancholic and very sorrowful, but also undeniably beautiful. And following that area up with the scenes during the fight with Yami.... It really does make you feel a genuine attachment to the game world and genuine investment in the story, and it sticks with you long after you've finished the game. There were so many different emotions in that part of the game, but it ultimately made me appreciate how wonderful the game was even more. It's a truly beautiful game, and in my opinion it can deservedly be called a masterpiece.
This is a super old comment but I'll necro to say this. I have finished the game 5 hours ago. Since then, I have cried for 20 mins and have been going back to videos of the game's music and landed here. It's now about 6:30 am. Best game I've ever played too. I eagerly await the day another game is able to move me like this
Devastating to think about what happened to those celestials inside the ark. Killed and torn to pieces, painfully and and probably slowly by the demons wreaking havoc inside that place.
This song never fails in making my eyes mist over when I hear it. It's so damn powerful on it's own, and yet when you combine it with the few short scenes it plays in during the game it become nearly overwhelming. I honestly don't think we'll see a game with nearly half of Okami's emotional impact for a very long time.
Its hard to bring into words how this melody touches me. As I think and reflect I picture those whom I've helped, those who I call friend and family, and those I have lost. My heart goes out to you all as I pray for a bright future for us all.
as I listened to some of the game's soundtracks I started to cry...and than as I calmed down I wanted to rewatch them and that's what I did...now I'm crying again but still I'm feeling happy at the same time as I listen to these soundtracks
This melody is so beautiful, so gorgeously heartbreaking... I can hardly stand to listen to it's sorrow but I can't bear to make it stop. This is so beautiful, and music like this just makes my heart melt with emotion. The Okami Soundtrack is truly beautiful. ♥
How do I explain this soundtrack? It´s... just packed with feelings, you feel happy, sad, like you can do anything, like you can do nothing, like your life has been bad, but will get better, that everything is regardless in this world... That everything has a meaning, that nothing is enough. This soundtrack made me think of life actually, how many things there are that matter, that no-one can explain life. I´m possitive that music can though. At least this soundtrack. At least this game.
I haven't played Okami in a while and was starting to forgot how moving, simply amazing, the music is. Coming across this song again brought tears to my eyes. I'm not even sure what kind of tears. Ones of happiness that I get to hear this again? Ones from my moved spirit? Ones of awe? I don't know. All I know is that I need to replay this game again. As soon as I possibly can.
I think this is best as a stand alone game myself. With you having all the brush techniques and defeated all evil... It's hard to think up of something else, and restoring the Celestial plain seems more like using bloom and stuff over and over... Though it is possible for clover if it was still around to tweak some stuff to make a sequel happen. I absolutely despise the thought of a sequel not made by clover. Though one made by them is fine, if they weren't gone. My 2 cents.
@@ambrodigon175 its been 14 years i dont even know the person who wrote that image anymore honestly lmao Capcom is in a pretty good place they can probably do something good or even great with okami on their own now.
@@VulgusBangaa I feel like after Okamiden, it would be a mistake to try and continue the game, at least with the same characters. Maybe a different point in time of their mythology would work out, but that's just my opinion.
This song is just so beautiful. This game has so many memorable tunes that you only hear once or twice. I'm so glad I got the soundtrack. ^_^ Love it with all my heart.
I just dont know why 0:25 i just bursted into tears that is by far the best part of the song and that flute sounds just so beautiful!! I love this soong!!
the game is beyond beautiful. the music goes so well with the atmosphere of the game. it had its funny moments but overall the scenery and music will keep you so calm
Clover is platinum games yes, however they don't have rights. However if Capcom is smart, or if Platinum games begs enough, the rights will be allowed to them for any other games dealing with it sequel/prequel wise.
I think that may have been the composer's intention. It plays at a tragic stage of the game: when you're meeting the spirits of the Celestials who were murdered due to Waka's mistake in lending them the Ark of Yamato, all of which could have been avoided. It's a sad moment, but they're still happy just to be able to see Amaterasu one last time before their spirits leave the world.
I hate the fact that I looked up okami music again at a time like this.. I have to work with my exams now, but I got this huge urge to play after I listened to the music again.. After the exams I will go through the game for the 5'th time.
In all honesty, I could listen to this song forever and ever! I absolutely adore the music in Okami and this song is my personal favorite out of them all!!
I'd probably say because there's a similar level of awesome involved. This is good -- it shows Google is starting to relate videos by awesomeness, coolness, and radicalness.
I have never loved a game so much. I cried my heart out when it ended... I have played it so many times I can recite each part word for word. Beautiful. Just listening to it makes my heart burst.
I cried to this game as well and was a mess. This might have been one of the most emotional games I played. The only game I cried more than this to was the ending of MGS 4.
I really liked how the game transitioned from the colorful forests into an inhospitable snow-world, but the music is still so brilliant and beautiful. Wonderful game.
Damn this is so nostalgic to me taking me way back to middle school remembering from my library of Capcom games that this one stood out from the rest with it's art style and beautiful music a true masterpiece indeed Mega man X and RE are my favorites of all time from Capcom but Okami has a special place it's in its own league I'm glad I relived those memories playing the ps4 version
You can always listen to it in the 'Presents from Issun' section on the title screen, it's unlocked after you beat the game once. Search for this track in the 'Ark of Yamato' section in 'Okami Music'. Cheers !
It's lovely how many great lessons are in the video games I've played recently including Okami and a game called Fragile Dreams, Farewell Ruins of the Moon. ^-^ I wish I could convey them to people, but I need to practice at speaking, and I'm the only one in my family who really likes video games anyway. Thank you for uploading! I love this theme to bits!
HD version was great and its what I always wanted. Sure bring a lot of memories :). Lol first time I play Okami it took me 55 hours and still did not complete a lot of side quest.
Well, perhaps not online, but I've only ever seen it on store shelves once. I don't think it was produced in large number or highly advertised, so there's only so many circulating now - a number which will decrease as they meet players who aren't willing to part with them aftre playing them.
@KirbyChan i think it may be because its a theme in the game, Ammy has wing thingys, and so do the other gods, maybe because they are from the celestial plain maybe,.. but good question :D
My Lyrics to this song: omigosh it's you its Amaterasu. The goddess of the sun let me see you shine. It's too late for that you can see just what has happened to the precious body of mine. Ive been dead for a hundred years or so in hopes that I'd be safe in the ark of Yamato. But instead I was sure that I'd be dead when everyone I knew had bled. Still my spirit rests in this ark of Yamato in hopes the gods will praise me for helping out a hero. Go and kill the darkness that brews upon the land.
that is legit so adorable. i hope you forgot about this entirely and cringe a little at it now, but still find it again from my comment reminding you 💛
@TheSuperEricWarshot Amaterasu is actually part of Japanese Mythology, not just a game character. Amaterasu, Amaterasu-ōmikami or Ōhirume-no-muchi-no-kami is apart of the Japanese myth cycle and also a major deity of the Shinto religion. She is the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe. The name Amaterasu derived from Amateru meaning "shining in heaven." The meaning of her whole name, Amaterasu-ōmikami, is "the great August kami (god) who shines in the heaven".
@EmotionalHeartless Yes. It's an excellent game. If you love action adventure games, it's one of the best games you can get. It's my favorite game of all time.
Fellow Okami fans.... we are so fucking back.
SO BACK
Yes!!! Now I can finally have closure about Princess Kaguya cause she went there since we know what happened to Celestial Plain, I hope she's safe🥲
Is it just me, or does this game start to legitimately hurt when you enter the ark? It goes way beyond just feels, it's a knife in the heart.

Yes, because I felt that what Orochi and his band of Demons did to those gods was unfair and unjust! It made me want revenge more than anything.

I was so hurt when the game finally ended, and Issun's departure was also a thorn in the heart for me. Best game I have EVER played.

This music with the Celestials stories about being afraid, eaten alive and defenseless, just broke me into tears.
Okami, Everything about it is amazing. Even now, whenever I see a dead tree, my instant reaction is to want to draw a circle around it...
