Just survived this ish. Had a brain tumor that caused a bunch of seizures and my muscles to tense up. I literally have no memory of about 4 days. Finally went to the hospital and they flushed me, then removed the tumor. I’m good now, can’t wait to get back to myself.

Thank you for this information. I recently heard of Rhabdomyolysis but did not quite understand it. I appreciate the clear explanation concerning this disorder. The "Management" section and the acronym "STOPPED " is the absolute best! Bravo!

Thank you! Don't forget to subscribe!
The primary mechanism of statin therapy-induced rhabdomyolysis is believed to be a decrease in ubiquinone (coenzyme Q) produced by the HMG-CoA pathway.

Hi , do you know if Rhabdomyolysis can be caused by chronic muscle fatigue caused by sleep deprivation possibly?

Sleep deprivation and chronic fatigue can weaken the body in a variety of ways and might contribute indirectly to conditions such as rhabdomyolysis. When you're sleep-deprived, your body doesn't recover as effectively from physical stress including the microtears in muscle tissue that occur during intense workouts. This hypothetically might increase the risk of more serious muscle damage. However, most common cases of rhabdomyolysis are triggered by severe muscle strain, often in the context of heavy weightlifting or extreme endurance events, especially when people push well beyond their normal limits or when they exercise in extreme heat.
While chronic sleep deprivation and general fatigue can make people more susceptible to various health issues and potentially could contribute to rhabdomyolysis, they are not typically listed among the primary risk factors for rhabdomyolysis.
Always consult a healthcare provider if you're experiencing symptoms like dark-colored urine after workouts, muscle pain and weakness, or fatigue. This should be evaluated by a healthcare professional who can take into consideration your overall health, habits and risk factors.

@@sameerahamed1592 Hello, truly appreciate your thoughtful response, it is helpful. I had this connection to the condition of rhabdo because not much talk on the physiological impact of sleep deprivation , I've noticed that for me that by having chronic sleep deprivation for 3-4 years now that the fatigue pools to my face specifically the zygomaticus/cheek region and it has similar symptoms to RHABDOMYOLYSIS may not be as severe as others though it is intense and lingers also difficult to get rid of.

I might just add that the muscle pain of rhabdo usually. goes well beyond that of ordinary muscle soreness caused by exercise. Ordinary muscle soreness and stiffness is ueually. experienced during movement, whereas the muscle pain of rhabdo is constant, even when not moving. Rhabdo also causes swelling and the muscles are painful to the touch or any kind of external pressure as well. If the muscle is very painful even at rest, rhabdo is more likely. If the pain and stiffness only occurs on movement, it's more likely to be DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Rhabdo pain also occurs sooner than DOMS (0-24 hours as opposed to 24-48 hours for DOMS). Also, some people do not have the classic dark urine, at least not right away. It's best to go to the ED and get tested if the pain is severe and constant, especially if there is swelling. @@sameerahamed1592
