    I just want to say thanks for highlighting the power bins feature. I'd been using a "template" project which I was just copy-pasting then renaming in order to have my project independent bins and media. Power bins solves the issue of adding new global media and it not being in the old projects haha!

      @@VFXstudy I don't know if it's the scope of your tutorials, but it's just an idea. Maybe a video on how you organize your files (assets for a particular project, assets used on many, final exported videos, etc).
      Are you using one folder dedicated for everything going into a particular project, and keep the common files used elsewhere too in another folder (like music, sounds fx, etc)? Or do you copy the assets you need from it to the project folder to keep everything in one place?
      I'm so used to software where you have just to save the project file in the main folder of the project, then you create other folders related to music/images/etc in it.
      In my case, it's day and night for the files organization between my Fusion 9 projects and the Davinci Resolves ones lol. For Davinci Resolve, it's a mess now.
      I know files organizations can be very personnal, but maybe there's better/good habits to pick up with database based software like Resolve to stay more organized.
      This tutorial helped me a lot, before that I just copied my assets/fusion fx between projects.

    AMAZING tutorial! Thank you very much! I have a simple question, when you pulled your UA-cam like+subscribe reminder, does it comes with the sound effect? Because I noticed in the end of this video two bell rings and I was wondering if you added those later in the edit page. Thank very much again for all your work here on UA-cam :)

    • @VFXstudy

      Good observation! No, It does not come with the sound effect from the Fusion effect. But you can put the Fusion effect together with the sound effect into one dedicated timeline and then put that timeline into the bin. Or compound clip works as well.

    I made a control to the user page on accident. This created a single page with one control. I then edited the effect again an moved the control to a new tab but the user tab still exists with no data in it now. (it didn't exist at all before) And this causes there to be too many tabs and I need to scroll to see them all.
    How can I remove tabs with no content and also how can I change the order of the tabs

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  3 роки тому

      I'm not entirely sure. I don't think you can change that in the macro editor after the fact. You would probably need to copy the node into a text editor and check there where you have references to the controls page and remove it there from the lua table.
      I don't think you'll be able to reorder the default tabs. For your own custom tabs it might depend on the order they are listed in the code? Not sure either, since I haven't tried that, but maybe reordering in the code does something 🤔

    How do I expose a FileControl option? Right clicking the Filename for the loader doesn't bring up the ability to set an expression but one of the options when adding a control to a template is a Text "FileControl." What other way do I have to set the filename of the loader in the template?

  • @DavidPierceMedia

    This is amazing, great work!! Is there a way to make them responsive to the resolution and frame rate? For example, working on a 1080p timeline vs. a 4K timeline? Cheers!

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  4 роки тому +1

      By default Fusion is resolution independent. So all transforms etc. work relative to the frame size. Masks should adopt to the fame size they are attached to. However, creator nodes like the background node have a dimension. It can still be set to autoresolution and should adopt the resolution of the project / edit timeline. Beyond that there might be scripting options to access the resolution.

    If I do this, in the new project it just shows me media offline.

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  3 роки тому +1

      Well, that's not a Fusion issue but a Resolve thing where Resolve for some reason doesn't find media that it expects to find on the disk. If you imported a project or renamed / moved media on disk try relinking the media. If the media is playable in the media bin but not from the timeline also check if you have issues with any optimized media you might have created or with cache files - e.g., cache files Resolve typically creates from Fusion comps assuming the caching is enabled. For example cache disk full can be a reason. Disable/enable one setting at a time until you figure out which media cannot be found...

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  5 років тому

      Have to check how much is possible. You can save templates for added effects like text effects etc. But not sure it's possible to have a Fusion effect in the templates that can be dropped onto a clip and work after MediaIn

    • @Kwamedave
      @Kwamedave 5 років тому

      Thanks. I have been looking for ways to save custom effects on the Edit Page. For example, scale, rotation, etc. I know that doing this in the Colour or Fusion tab is possible. But there seems to be no way to do this in the Edit Page.

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  5 років тому

      @@Kwamedave if it's only about transform and scale you could do it purely in the edit. Make a short sample clip, scale and transform with the edit tools and later do copy and paste attributes to any other clips.

      @@VFXstudy It's not your fault, it's resolve having no good way for reusing node graphs, to my knowledge.
      Natron for example, free, open source nuke clone, you can create group, fill it with nodes, including generic inputs inside that group, and those inputs then become, well, inputs to the group nod, as well as outputs that then also become output plugs.
      resolve does not do that, I don't think so anyway, I don't know if it has anything but readers and loaders, I don't think it has a nice compact boxed up version.
      In 19 it has these weird reference fusion clips and whatnot, but ...that's not really an improvement. ah well.
