    Awesome. Thanks so much. I own both Resolve Studio and Fusion Studio, so this is very helpful. And it's good to know that it's relatively easy to do.

    Hi there. You might already be aware of this, but just in case, I thought I would share that with Resolve Studio 17 and Fusion Studio 17, you don't have to change the loader and saver node to import the .comp file into resolve studio. It recognizes the loader and saver nodes and works great. If you change the loader to media in and saver to media out, it loses its mind :). I fought with it for almost a day before I discovered that, but your video was extremely helpful. Thanks.

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  3 роки тому

      Yeah, It seems to be working better now! I still had some cases where I had to manually fix something. Not sure if ti was a loader node or an FBX mesh or something, but generally, it got smarter. For changing loader to Media IN, you could just put the file in the Media Bin and drag it into the comp... instead of a Fusion loader node - shouldn't cause a problem...

    Thank for this!! But, what about the other way around? how can I continue working from Resolve into the Fusion Standalone?

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  4 роки тому

      Well, if you want to move an existing Fusion comp from resolve over, you can export the Fusion comp via the menu. If you want to work entirely in Fusion studio, you can use VFX connect: ua-cam.com/video/acSAJvTuIi8/v-deo.html

      @@VFXstudy Thanks so much for your help! I ended up saving my comp from Resolve as a Settings file (I can't find an option to "export Fusion Comp") and then dragging it to Fusion standalone.
      Though, if you could give me your thoughts on the following, I'd really appreciate it: Using DR16, I have a fairly simple fusion comp, a couple pngs layers and a couple 3D texts and a lights/camera simple animation... Nothing fancy. The problem im having, is that, when I activate the Motion Blur in the Render 3D node, no matter the quality level I set, the exported file as well as the RAM preview, shows some of the layers blinking and flickering at random frames. I'm using Open GL on the Render node, and I've tried checking on and off the "Use display GPU for computing" box and using several output formats and search the web but found no answers... That's why I tried to move the comp to Fusion standalone and try that out (unsuccessfully because for some reason the comp won't render at all inside F. standalone, but that's a problem for some other day)... Any suggestions on why this is happening and how could I fix it? Only you could figure it out!
      Ps. I just need the 3D text layers to have motion blur, the other layers are not moving much.

    Good stuff. Can you do a video explaining path maps used in embedding images into a macro and using the file across different computers pls

      @VFXstudy  5 років тому +1

      Hmm, good idea to look into some time. Haven't much experience with that in DaVinci Resolve yet, though used it in Fusion Studio before.

    I ask my question in your context of your other tutorial showing 5 ways of creating a Fusion clip, and I want to use your 3rd method, i.e. creating a Fusion clip in the timeline. Essentially I want to keep my Fusion clip separate from the video media.
    I tried to import a .comp file into a separate Fusion clip, but had problems. It gave a "Media Offline" error, but my imported .comp file had no media, and only consisted of nodes. How can I import a .comp file into a separate Fusion clip?
    Note I am using the same computer to export the .comp file, and to import into a new project.
    Thanks for your tutorials!

    I got confused pretty much right from the outset, wtf is a saver and loader node and why do I never see them in any .comp files I download and install ??

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  3 роки тому +1

      They are used instead of mediain and mediaout in Fusion Studio. If you ever work with Fusion Studio that's the first thing, otherwise not sure where you would have Fusion comp files from?

    I was given a bunch of Fusion Comps that are .txt files. How do I import those files as comps?

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  2 роки тому +1

      Rename to *.comp if they are comp files. For Fusion Studio you can just double click to open. For resolve you put a Fusion effect in the timeline, go to Fusion tab, then File -> Import -> import Fusion comp.
      Alternatively copy the text and ctrl+c paste into the Fusion nodegraph, either in resolve or Fusion Studio

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  4 роки тому +1

      Not that I'm aware. I believe audio support is not yet available in the Fusion tab. In Fusion studio there is some limited audio support but to my knowledge, it has not been integrated with Resolve so far.

      Premiere is an editing program, I'm talking about VFX! Premiere can't do a fraction of the effects work
      you can do in Fusion.
