This is Chica Jo with a transgender dandy
‘bout plain gals turnin’ into male eye candy.
If ya snorkel by slowly ya might not scare ‘em
as they strut their stuff in their own swimmin’ harem.
Now they sleep at night in their own mucus wraps,
stayin’ safe from moray eels and other toothy traps.
That goo’s not gross; it’s got antioxidants
repelling parasites ‘n’ fixin’ body scrapes ‘n’ dents.
Hey! Look out your window and see the Gulf water.
We’ve got five species here, chillin’ in the water where it’s hotter:
Bumphead, Bi’, BlueChin, Loosetooth, and Azure.
Those’re the common names of ours you can be sure.
It’s time to clear up an important misconception
and give these fish a more grateful reception.
Most folks think they munch on living coral polyps.
Truth is they’re vegans; so there’s a news wallop!
They actually scrape algae off our coral ‘n’ rock reefs
with their super strong, crazy, beak like, fused teeth.
Thanks to them corals get a place to live and grow,
so give’em some appreciatin’ now that you’re in the know.

Ya gotta know. They’re poopin’ out the sand. Every time they scrape,
they get a little bit of rock, little bit of hard coral, ‘n’ they poop it out
an' you’ve got your vacation. Ahhh. All ya gotta do is relax. Just chill.
