Love the new tent setup! Looking forward to seeing your first camping adventure with it!
Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
That’s nice Brian, I can see myself in this tent, no critters and I’ve seen some big spiders on some of your camping vids. Can’t wait for your Thursday video.
Hopefully this setup is spider proof😂
Good video, I like the tent and your enthusiasm.
Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
Top Oak is Chinese company, but every other RTT is made there as well. Good on them to penetrate U.S. market to undercut local price gougers.
Great video!! I have this tent and love it!! Also got the insulation package! Highly recommended this RTT
I ordered the insulation skins also! Hoping to get those in here quick!
Looks like a great setup. Waiting for the updates
Thanks👍🏻
Nice setup!! Looking forward to the next video. Curious to see how it does in the cold.
Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Brian. I have looked at this tent and others that are more cost effective than the outrageous tents. The only one I have seen with 2 tube ports built in is Roofnest. I wish these other companies would offer that. Looking forward to your camping video with the new setup.
Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
Kinda like being in a tree house pretty dang kool man
Thanks bud👍🏻
Hell yeah Brian, looking forward to the adventures with this addition!
Thanks bud👍🏻
Looks Awesome. Let us know if any problems arise. Looking forward to watching.
Thanks! Will do!
Enjoyed The Video 👍
Thanks👍🏻
Nice, did you get the SS2? saw it was back in stock and just ordered one, cheers!
Sure did. So far, it’s been the best model
😊 Very nice.
👍🏻👍🏻😀
You got to be cautious if you have too many donkeys going down that latter! Are you getting a room ac with flex ductwork?
Will make for a fun exit😂 I’ve got a few ideas for ac setup for this summer
Nice! What's your plan for AC in the summer?
Got a few ideas in the works😉
Hey Brian, I am looking into getting a topoak galaxy. I am trying to find a bed rack that will work for a chevy colorado. Is the length of you bed 6'? I am trying to figure out if I need to get a bed rack that is taller than my truck cab
My bed is 6.5’👍🏻
A mobile deer stand. Hope you don't sleep walk. The second person would have to be short to leave room for the power station.
👍🏻👍🏻
Did I miss it? Did y’all sell your big pull behind camper?
No, we still have our RV👍🏻
Looks interesting. I know you had to get rid of the camper shell to tow but is this tent better or does it have more room? Seems like more of a pain to use than the shell.
I got rid of the shell for the weight reduction I needed. This setup I can take on/off as I need when I tow the rv👍🏻
Great setup, what cooling system are you going to use in the summer? I know it's months away but had to ask.
Probably my ZeroBreeze a/c
I’m glad you’re excited for camping again. That tent definitely looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully you’re able to figure out a hoist system
Thanks Steve👍🏻
That's a very nice rooftop tent setup! I can't wait to see the next video!
Thanks bud👍🏻
Is it legal to drive with tent covering up the 3rd brake light? Maybe a plug in hitch light?
Probably not
Hey I like that setup! Not on the ground, no critters can get to you. Just don't get in a hurry getting out of it 😂 Can't wait to see some camping. Enjoyed watching!
Thanks Scooter. Looking forward to testing this out this week👍🏻
Forgot to ask but is the truck bed 6.5 feet long?
Yes, it’s a 6.5’ bed
Cool tent for one. Would you not be able lower your tailgate to use for a step without needing the ladder? (Just a thought)
You can, and I’ve done that on a few trips instead of using the ladder
@@BrianWatersOutdoors Cool! Thanks!
Nice rtt. Didn't you have an EF Wave 2 or a Zero Breeze to use for a/c, come summertime?
I do, and will be using something similar to that this summer
@@BrianWatersOutdoors 👍. That's what I'll be trying this summer. My Wave 2, with a wye connector, feeding a/c to the rtt and Hiker Trailer. I tried a test run using the aluminized interior dryer-style hose, but the non-smooth/crinkly interior of the hose caused disruption in the airflow. Ordered some sturdier pvc flex hose used for dust collectors in wood shops, and that test run went much better.
Does the rack on the truck bed included?
No
What hoist system are you going with??
Just a ceiling mounted hoist with some lifting straps. Nothing fancy. I’ll post a video when it’s done👍🏻
Really LIKE that one. Was ho-hum about the other one. The huge windows will be great for cooking. Wonder if Reflexit around the truck rails underpinning the bottom area would help keep it much warmer from pass-through airflow drafts/winds? Maybe try that while to temps are cold now. It might make for a warmer experience when the heater is not turned on. Yep, LIKE 👍 it a lot.🍻🌮🥗☕🍷🍻🍺🍻
Good ideas Pamela. Thanks👍🏻
Awesome setup! I had a similar set up for years, but it became cumbersome, taking the tent off and on myself. Sounds like you have that figured out with your hoist system in place, looking forward to seeing that setup as well.
😊
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wish you could have shown the opening and closing procedures especially with the extender. Maybe we can see that on your first overnighter??? Thanks
Yes, I’ll show all of that on Friday👍🏻
Going to be fun climbing down at daylight before you’ve had your coffee. 😂 At least the bed of the truck is open and you can bring some firewood or what we with you back there! Looks pretty cool so far!
Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
The only downside to those quick connections for mounting is it makes really easy for someone to steal your tent. Awesome setup though. Love the videos.
Thanks Larry👍🏻
Do you have a access point to bring your heater’s duct inside
I do. I’ll show the setup this week when I take it out on its first trip
NOICE!!!!! You’re ready to go, all you need now is some Banquets, a good meal and a place to go.
Hell yeah😎👍🏻👍🏻
Yeeeeah buddy👍🏻👍🏻
Heyy Brian nice setup I like that one it looks great, hope you have lots of fun sleeping in it,looking forward to your first camping video in it,thanks for sharing stay safe
Thank you 😀
That looks amazing can you also add the link to the mount rack /ladder reach into this video also. That the tent attached to. I know it’s in the other video but if someone is interested they may not know to go back and look in previous videos. Great video
Hey Trevor, good point. I added the link to the racks now
Hey Brian! That looks like an awesome tent. How long do you estimate it will take you to close it down and get back on the road after you sleep in it?
Maybe 10 minutes start to finish. I’ll show it all this week on my first trip out👍🏻
@@BrianWatersOutdoors looking forward to it! I’ve been missing your camping videos, man. I’m so happy you’ve got it all figured out!
That looks to be very high quality. Looking fwd to your camp trips in it.
Thanks George👍🏻
Better rig up a pee funnel & hose for those late night urges 💦💦😂 That’s the only real downfall I see for an older guy like me with a small bladder 🤷🏻♂️ Love the vids! Thanks and good luck 👍🏻
lol. Not a bad idea
Gatorade bottles work great, anything with a wider opening than the average pop bottle😂
You will definitely make sure you are wide awake when you leave the tent.. Looks great have fun.
For sure👍🏻
It looks great. I hope you have alot of fun in it. Looking forward to your first trip in it.
Thanks👍🏻
What are you going to do when it's 100 degrees out side can u put your air conditioner in the tent
I’ve got a plan😉
At that angle I would imagine it will feel like the tent is tipping over
lol. It’s not bad inside. Just feels like more headroom
Looks like a nice tent. Looking forward to camping videos in it!
Congratulations 🎉. Good job.👍😎
Thanks👍🏻
That is something much better with the tent. 😊
👍🏻
Really nice set up!! See you Friday.
Looks good 👍👍
👍🏻
Very Nice...:)
👍🏻
Nice setup!
👍🏻👍🏻
Nice set up.
Thanks!
Nice tent
Thanks 👍
From South Africa the compromise of a RTT.
1) from a self defence standpoint, you are compromised, and you are kind of trapped up there.
2) The ladder.... getting up and down that thing..... Dang it becomes old very quickly, and that killed a RTT for me.
But if it works for you, then that's amazing 👏
Would advise keeping coffee makings and a piece of ply to work on in there, I once woke up to rain in the morning, and, well you can imagine how crappy that worked out.😢
