  • In this video, I unbox and install the low cost, high quality ‪@Macy-x4v‬ 270 degree awning on my Toyota 4Runner. Also, I use mounting brackets from TopOak that allow you to mount this awning directly to the side of your RTT instead of mounting separately to the roof rack. Mounting the awning higher on the rooftop tent allows more clearance for a Toyota 4Runner hatch.
I want to point out that the awning works with the 4Runner because it is mounted 3-4 inches higher on the rooftop tent than it would be mounted to just the roof rack.
This awning is listed for $499 on their website. Compare to the $950 OVS 270 degree awning.

This is perfect, I'm glad I found your video. I'm looking into their RTT and now I can confidently look into their awning. I'm 6'2 and my 4runner is lifted 3". So clearing the hatch should be good for me. Thanks for the review!

Could you use longer L brackets to mount the tent onto the awning width? Would that not raise the awning up a few inches so that a forerunner hatch would not be impacted?

Looks awesome. Does the rtt take the weight of the awning no issue with that brackets?

From what I can tell, they seem very strong. I’ll be giving it a true tested Colorado later this month and report back but how it performs.

The awning was great. No issues travel and camping through the San Juan mountains and driving from Minnesota yo Colorado and back again.

@@destinationjourney_overland great to hear. Bought the same one a few months ago, but have yet to install it on my FJ.
