The problem having all these options is that you starting getting paralysis by analysis. I spend more time trying to get the right tone and less time writing tunes.
The solution is to write the song before worrying about the mix. Pick a tone that sounds decent and then run with that. Plugins allow you to change tones after a song is recorded.
I'm still rocking the M-Audio Profire 2626 and getting kick-ass guitar tones with this (And other Amp Sims) This is older technology! All those people complaining that it must be a very expensive interface to get those tones are wrong! (I used to think the same way). It's how you set up your signal chain (like a real amp), How you record it, new/er strings, doubling, tripling, quadrupling your recorded guitar,, eq, etc. Plus the compressing from video editing, to youtube, etc. All affect the tone. Also must mention not to clip your signal before it goes into your DAW. You can get killer tones from ancient equipment! It's how you work with it. Buying expensive gear won't make you sound better unless you know what you are doing! :-)
I’m trying to use desperately this plugin to GarageBand for a full year already and has never worked. It must be something I don’t understand in the installation process with ilok or something… also I can open the program but my garage band doesn’t recognize my STL Tonehub plug-in as an Audio Unit although everything seems correctly installed ! 😅 can somebody help me with the « informatic side » of this stuff so I can play please ?
OK, got this. A few observations after two days. 1) I was able to get that Darkglass sound on bass with just the Core presets that came with it. Literally just one of the SVT rigs and two overdrive pedals in the plugin. In fact, I like the Darkglass sound from this better than from the actual Darkglass plugin. To really simulate an amp tone with the Darkglass plugin the way I like it, I find that I have to use a Sansamp BDDI plugin in front of it. With this plugin, nope. Just sounds right straight off. 2) Sometimes I want to run bass through a high gain amp sim and do that kind of thing. It sounds WAY better in Toneworks than other sims I've used. It sounds like I'm actually plugging a bass into a distorted amp, not a plugin trying to sound like an amp. It's really f'ing close. 3) The overdrive pedals and the effects are great. OD pedals on most sims suck ass, imo. These actually sound very good. The Delay and the Reverb look like they might be modeled after Strymons(?) maybe? Whatever. The effects are awesome. 4) This is an inexpensive, yet very high quality step-up for anyone who's been f'ing around with Amplitube, Guitar Rig, or some of the free sims out there. Yes, you can get a good sound through those, but with Toneworks, it just takes less work. Plus the interface is brilliant. annnnnd, it;s relatively low CPU. Very surprising. A miracle? No. Pretty f'ing good? Yes.
Can you tell me what DAW and version you are using. I have Cubase LE AI Elements 12 and I cant seem to get STL Tone Hub to record live into an audio channel in realtime/ is there a way to record the amp on the audio file/live/realtime as opposed to just pressing record and being able to change amp models after. If I add FX channel it does open STL Tone Hub but its non functional.
I bought this plug-in the day it came out and only been using the stock presets. Honestly, they sound incredible for stock presets. I will say the tuner is not accurate at all but most amp plugin tuners are absolutely horrendous. I'm hoping the next update they do they will allow Kemper profiles/Axe Fx profiles to be added into the plugin form. It would be amazing to have this type of versatility for those that can't afford the Kemper.

Lol
Also I subscribe to amp hub, but dont like messing around with configs to get my tone. Would this be a more streamlined way to play or record than amp hub?
