Much better audio on this video. I look forward to following your UA-cam career - excellent presentation skills. We are starting to do these conversions on Patrols in Australia.
Very nice neat conversion! You can see the attention to detail! It definitely pays off. I keep looking at options for an engine swap on my d1, looking at an m57 or om606 but it’s a lot of work.
would like more info on the engine mounts as i am doing one soon in one of mine,do you have a wiring diagram so i can switch from the x5 pedal to the tdci one cheers
Nice job. However, I wouldn't put that engine in anything, just leave it in a BMW. I had a 2006 Range Rover Vogue with that engine, I regretted buying it instead of the V8 petrol. The BMW engine was underpowered, noisey and not particulary good for a working vehicle towing a trailer.
This is the m57n, NOT the m57 with a terrible gearbox like you've experienced. Maybe instead of making such generalised opinions, do your research next time you wet wipe. The m57n can handle 400HP easily with basic mods and a new turbo.
Immaculate presentation in the engine bay; I think an engine start would enhance and top off your video nicely.
How I thought. NKT

Cracking bit of work! Would be lovely to hear it running on a road test.

Thank you, have you seen the previous video of the D1 M57 we did?

Good video. Would have been nice to see it running
So excited to be in the passenger seat in the summer
Lovely piece of engineering
Looks great! How about a shot of the engine running! Love an M57
Great Video, just subscribed.... Would have loved to have seen it in action on the road and heard the engine note etc.
Great engineering
What about airflow to the air filter? Does it get enough ?
I want to hear it while driving...
Beautiful vid .. you really give me some great ideas and it was helpful
I will indeed like and subscribe as this kind of thing excites me much more than it really should. Splendid stuff old bean

Super neat. Love it. Subscribed.
Does it not have a transfer box? And how does it sound?
It has transfer box looks like a Landrover one probably from the original V8
New sub! Keep up the great work!
Big Boyz toyz 😎👍
Nice conversation. What brake master are you using?
Just got your video recommended after some ALive tuning homework.
Would you rate an M57 as a worthwhile upgrade to a tweaked TD5?
Roughly how much would you charge for an m57 into a 2.4 puma defender

How to make a Land Rover run properly fit a BMW engine
such a robust engine. have a 22 y old 530d with over 200k miles

Clueless
@@gerryr1893 No idea who you are referring too, but in my experience and that of others, the BMW is a POS in anything other than a BMW.
The range rover straight six was a different engine...
The l322 td6 had a poor gearbox and was an early detuned variant of the m57 engine 177hp. Bmw kept the higher hp variants for their owm cars.
