Ya know... I was with a woman for almost a year and almost married her (I'm a woman myself) and... God just woke me up one night... I didnt love her like I thought. And a few months later I started talking (again) to the man I'm married too now. He reintroduced me to God and I completely changed my life around. From being gay and smoking weed and drinking to wanting to be a preacher and learn as much as I can about his gospel!! THANK YOU JESUS FOR SAVING ME!!

maybe not a pastor but Mark 16:15 tells us to "Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation." All four Gospels have the Resurrected Christ appearing to Mary Magdelene first and instructing her to "go tell." Being a woman should not stop anyone of us of sharing or preaching the Gospel. Sounds like Phil's sister Jan had a lot with his being saved:)

Allot of this conversation reminds me of myself. I was born in 1951 so by 1966 give or take I was introduced to the newly formed drug scene at that time. I smoked pot and a federal offense I actually had a friend who spent a year in prison for less than an ounce. My drug of choice over a short period of time was LSD and I and a friend also sold it after taking a new batch ourselves to insure it was actually good. Long story short myself one of stepbrother's were high as usual and went to a free rock concert in one of our local parks. Just so happened when it was all over the band was unknowingly a christian rock group. They talked abit and gave an alter call and myself and stepbrother raised our hands. Across the street was a canal where we all of us local kids all swam. One of the folks in the band baptized us both in that canal that day. When I came up I was a new young man and he told us we where now disciples and were to spread the good news and that we did. Also started a church in that same park and god changed allot of young lives over time. I love my lord dearly and I thank him for all that he has done. I got married shortly there after to a gal I had known for sometime and we had actually gone together way back in the seventh grade. I lost touch of her when I lived out in the country for a couple of years and just happened to see her at the park when I moved back to town. I was 18 at the time we just had our 51 anniversary in October of this year. I actually had to have a parent sign for me to marry at the time. And everyone was saying it won't last very long but what God had joined together is still together this very day.

Fun fact. I went to Florida bible camp where Gordon Dasher was the director and he taught at my high school. Jan Dasher was a kindergarten teacher at TES where all of my siblings and I attended! :)

I love your podcast it is my favorite bible study 📖. But this is one of the first time I have disagreed with a statement on here. The one about healthcare for people NOT being a human right. I am a Republican but I do feel that is one thing that should be available to all here in America.I mean what about the parable of the good Samaritan? I understand the problem is who will pay for it, but if we can figure that out, America would be a better country if we could make Healthcare available to all. I remember Phil paying for the dental work for a lady who came to the Lord because she was losing her teeth, that story touched me so much I cried like a baby. And the countless stories of you all feeding the poor and sharing the love of God with them. I mean who chooses who gets Healthcare and who doesn't? Isn't that why we/you talk about saving the unborn, to be a voice for the weak and voiceless...to save someone who hasn't even lived yet? If you can get behind the money it costs to save an unborn child, or a mother who has no place to go or no money to raise that baby...then why can't we also be behind Healthcare for our people? Certainly the wellfair of the unborn falls under the narrative of healthcare...doesn't it? I just watched a small excerpt on George Washington's death, and now the doctors know he most likely could have been saved if he were alive today. They actually said the bloodletting probably.killed.him, but their knowledge of medicine wasn't like it is now. So would George Washington deserve to be saved? Who decides? Sometimes the things we Christians say are an oxymoron. That doesn't make sense to me when we are suppose to come from a place of love. George Washington died a grewsome death, if he were alive today we would try everything in our power to save him. 💔

Gordon, I know youre referencing Catholicism, and I hold no contempt, but I suggest more exploration into the faith. The reason why so many people leave the church is because lack of understanding. They don’t feel understood, yet they don’t ask questions before deciding to pursue other pathways of religion. I appreciate how you didn’t completely slander the RCA. God bless, RC

Health care should not be a commodity either. I love you all but Ive worked in healthcare many years and the salaries of CEOs of some of these companies are pretty nausiating..i agree gov should not be the keepers of our insurance...but something has to be done. Al you even talked about it in a previous episode comparing the cost to have something done with or w/o ins. So something has to be done for us regular working people who live in double wides and apartments who cant afford huge homes.
This is a christian show so can people please from now on stop with all the negative comments about Jase and Al, it is disgustng. Everyone has different personalities which makes it more enjoyable, neither one is better than the other, just different. Think of how you feel if people were saying the same thing about you, christians shouldn't be acting this way. If you don't like the way someone on this show behaves then either don't watch or keep your comments to yourself. If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all!!!!!!
I got checked for posting Bible quotes.. This same platform (I forget which one) had a rampant ad program where actual, blatant, active, advertising prostitutes were posting. I noticed these ads came to me thick and heavy as soon as I started talking about Bible issues. It was strange, because IM FEMALE. Reporting the illegal ads just made more ads sent to me.

I am a cradle Catholic, and we always had a bible, read it daily, and say the daily Rosary, which is the Gospel in meditation, and every mass has 2 bible readings, one from Old and New Testaments, and a Gospel that the priest reads, followed by a homily on the Gospel, and mass is said daily. There are Catholics in name only, Biden and Pelosi for example. The bible was compiled by the Catholic church.
@@joseh3564 not saying they don’t do it now ! I’m 75 , I grew up under Vatican One . Every mass was said in Latin. All the congregation had was missals to follow the priest in mass. It was printed in English on one side and Latin on the other . We had nuns in school , no lay teachers and communion was given by the priest ONLY , In 5fh grade the nun taught the altar boys their Latin responses they had to give to the priest at mass . I think I was brainwashed at that time because the rest of the class had written English assignments while she took the boys to a corner and went over and over the responses ! To this very day I know a fairly long Latin response ....don’t know what it is saying ! So yeah , Catholic Church is way , way different from Vatican One ! I hope this explains the comment I made ...there was simply no Bible read .....unless when the priest was reading out of one for a funeral and even then Latin was used for mass itself !
@@joseh3564 true, and like Phil always points out there are no denominations in the Bible. I would never call myself Catholic as though my allegiance is to the vatican or catholic hierarchy or something though. The whole pope thing is very strange and I don't feel it has much biblical presence. The good thing is most Catholics don't either, it's just what they were born in to and they just love Jesus.

Good point on projection. We don't trust because at some level, we know we aren't ourselves trustworthy. The good news is that can be a way to indicate we still have awareness of our sin.
