Phil Learns About Email, Jase's Fried Deer Recipe, and Who Do You Think You Are? | Ep 180

  • Опубліковано 14 лис 2020
  • Phil and Jase talk about creative (and delicious!) ways to cook deer, why eating game is biblical, and why young deer are way better than big bucks. Phil likes to eat wild game, but mounting it on the wall isn't really his thing. Jase explains the concept of email to Phil. The guys respond to a question that comes up when we go public about the Gospel: "Who do you think you are?" And Phil laments that in today's culture, the "truth" doesn't include Jesus.

You two have no idea what this time out of your day means to us. Jase, I love your stories (don't ever be quiet) and listening to the word every day for an hour, means I don't have to wait 7days (Sunday) to be fed with the truth. Guests are nice to have on, but you two are the real deal! Thanks so much!

The commercials and sponsors’ messages of the podcasts are so distracting. Many times Jase is making a very important spiritual point and they cut to a break ...about underwear or baldness products, etc. I personally think it would be great to have a show without the excessive merchandising. Thank you.

@S Campbell I was thinking the same thing. Al says he needs to be there to "guide" the podcast in the right direction or it will be all over the place. There was no direction needed by Al here. The podcast after this one, they used Al's commercials, Jase didn't do them. Seems to me, that someone wasn't happy. Doesn't seem Christian like to me, just my thoughts.

Best podcast ever. “Who do you think you are”? Christ’s ambassadors. I am incredibly grateful for your studies from the Word of God of His eternal truth through Jesus Christ. I have come to know, love, and serve God more because of your obedience to Him. Saying “thank you” seems so trite but it is all I have...so thank you.

My husband is on a list in our county to pick up deer that has been hit by vehicles. So far this year, even before opening day, we have been blessed with one doe and one buck. The doe he did traditionally but the buck he turned into summer sausage. My parents raise hogs annually, and this year our hog was over 342 lbs! Our freezer is full and God is so good!

My Mom used to dredge very thin slices of venison in flour w/ salt and pepper, then brown them in oil. Then she would stack them in the frying pan with just a touch of water put the lid on and let them cook on low for a while. That was so good 👍💝

You all are making me hungry. I used to be an avid hunter but my health no longer allows it. Back in the day we would take the horses to pack us in about five miles back into a wilderness area and we would all walk. Then they were used for the same to get us all back out along with our game. We camped at around 8000 ft but hunted at over 10,000 and would walk up there every morning. We would stay for six days and would rarely see anyone who we did not know. We had six in our group and about the same in other group that we knew. This in Ca. but it eventually turned into a draw area impossible to get drawn. My uncle and my hunting partner hunted that area for 27 straight years in a row. So once it became a draw area we started to go to Colorado. Some of the best meat I have eaten was a cow elk and of course we always made liver and onions with the first deer and at times along with elk over an open campfire. Not sure if you folks eat the liver but it is something I have always enjoyed.

My choice for cooking venison (deer meat), is to take coarse salt and spray just enough water on it so you can make a flat salt cake about 1 inch thick, then place the salt cake on top of the steaks and broil them in the oven, then when you flip the steaks over just flip the salt cake on top. Not only does it prevent the meat from drying out during cooking but it will not be salty! Try it and see for yourself.
