I actually think Karl approached this with a better mindset. He is realisitic about his experiences and has legitimate worries about problems that could be caused by Warwick. Warwick on the other hand enters the whole situation with a goal to educate another grown man which is actually kind of arrogant. If you approach another man with the attitude of "trying to enthuse them about stuff like I do with my son" youd be lucky not to get a smack in the face. Warwick does change though and so does Karl, they develop some real cool friendship-moments and banter
Warwick is used to being coddled because of his disability and sheltered middle class upbringing. He doesn't realize how hard it is for others who aren't privileged.
