New to the channel? I do Let's Play videos -- these are like walkthrough guides of gameplay with continuous English commentary trying to explain my decisions and what strategy I use. If you're looking for hacks or cheats, you're in the wrong place!
In the first episode Quill capture Jerusalem settler and now after the golden age he choose exodus.
I wonder what will happened next.
Quill, Maui is literally the most awesome of all the Heroes, particularly when on a Desert start. Get him, use his activated ability on desert tiles just outside your borders and you'll understand.
Also, build the Etemenanki wonder. Even on base flood plains it is insane with your pantheon.
I was going to tell Quill18 the exact same thing about Maui... 😉
At the beginning of the video there's a huge Octopus on the unexplored map east of Akhetaten.
Akhetaten is building a MONUMENT TO THE OLD GOD.
Coincidence?! I don't think so!
mauri is the best hero fot empty desert like you have since he can create a lot of resources. Make him asap and use.
He's also great around Harbours as well, you can plant 3 resources for an easy +5 adjacency.
You're welcome
"You don't like my secret society." It's not very secret then, is it?
If you can get the Hero Anansi, you can actually use his ability to get rid of the cotton on the suez canal tile to put down a canal there later on.
Settling that place is basically impossible, because that area is usually about as crowded as europe
Agents of Shield was an awesome show.
Quill: has a wide resource poor desert.
Also Quill: Ignores Maui, the single best hero he could possibly get for his gameplay.
You've gotten so goddam lucky on this run so far. Loving it.
when I go voidsingers and religion I choose the crab icon and then name my religion Crustaceans for Cthulhu, it's just funny to me
16:19, puting a holy site on a natural +4 campus, i died inside a little
I love how most of the time when Quill says "Let's put a cut in here" he keeps finding thinks to talk about either related to the next steps in the game or off topic.
Classic Scott Mackenzie reference. I'm always surprised when people reference "If You're Going to San Francisco", it hasn't stood the test of time as well as some other '60s hits.
facepalmed when you built that first sphinx in Akhetaten as you now can't build one to the east of it on either the desert or desert floodplains which you were talking about building on when placing your second sphinx in Sais.
Didn’t expect to be first for once lol. Also ancient golden age seems very mythos canon.
It's making me crazy that you aren't buying that silk tile before the Ottomans get it!
I KNOW! *screams in future agony*
At this point, I just hope the automatic border growth gets it for him next episode.
Ming-Na Wen was also Fennec Shand in Mandalorian and voices her in the animated series The Bad Batch as well. First thing I remember seeing her in though was the terrible Street Fighter movie where she did an admirable job as Chun Li. Then of course she was also in Stargate Universe and Eureka, two staples from the Sci-Fi channel that I remember watching like crazy in university.
agents of shield plug at the end, excellent
Quill got a religion? OK now THIS is epic.
A science victory would be ironic because Miskatonic University is a thing. OLD GODS IN SPAAAAACE!
NOOOoooo :( Rip godtier campus in Akhetaten, it is now a religious site :/
i envy you the enjoyment you seem to have from playing this game over and over again. i wish any game could captivate my interest enough not to get bored of it after a 100 hours or so... no luck yet
Get Liang to have more charges on bought builder, to be able to eureka wheel. Spend money elsewhere, forget about Liang being established and research wheel with no eureka... typical Quill ;)
I like Reliquaries when playing with Cthulhu society.
I'm really excited to see your run at the Religious stuff!
Great Bath for Egypt is a misplay, they do not suffer from flooding anyway.
You should have gone for the other one, the Etimininyanky or whatever it is.
He also put it on his pantheon boosted desert tile instead of the grassland one (which he already owned, could have saved money instead of purchasing a new tile).
Yes. Cuthulu time.
Good job playing egypt it's a hard Civ. Plz go for a good religion and wonders, also etmanank is a good wonder for flood plains, try to find hercules that's a great hero
"Vatican City declares war on the Ottomans" A casual ancient crusade.
Only saw Agents of Shield this year, finally, but Yeah, I agree, it's really good!
I am still more in love with Babylon 5, though, I wonder if Quill has continued watching it or if called quits?
Agents of Shield was so great. Makes me sad that it appears to no longer be canon, but I guess I understand why given that they started diverging pretty hard.
28:45 today i learned.... xD
It’s time to build all the sphincters
I learned everything I know about civ 6 from quill
I'm also an Agents of Shield fan, Quill
Reminder that your pantheon boosts desert floodplains but _not_ grasslands and plains floodplains
Yay Quill rocks :)
Cleo!
Abe?
Cleo!
Abe!
" Dont join that secret clut! "
" But I have to Abe! "
#CloneHighCiv
Thanks for the video
If you use religion to go to space... is that Scientology?
No Ethiopia, No Arabia, No Spain? No problems
So he had 3 +4 campuses available near 2nd city location. You can tell he hasn’t played civ in a while. But also Cleo, so campuses not as important i guess.
I would probably restart with few extra african nations. Civ6 in normal settings is easy enough. With whole africa just for you, you will win without experiencing even minor challenges
"Fa Mulan" 😅😂🤣
The Oasis is strong only because of your pantheon, because it works for them but not for plains floodplains for some stupid reason -.-
How strong are the baths when you are already immune to flooding?
Entirely depends upon the opportunity costs. The primary benefit (housing) is more of a mid game bonus, but if you wait that long, it's probably long gone.
Quill, I think you are legally obligated to change Râ-Kedet name to R'lyeh, since you found a Religion.
Algorithm bumping comment.
Cheers, Ivan :D
how offten will you be uploading this series
Quill's let's play series usually have a new episode go live every day - other than in games in which he doesn't unpause until episode 2 having that second episode go live pretty quick after episode 1.
Up into urope 25:14
Dang Canadian accent
It’s ok. My wife lives in Ottawa
Quill you ruined a +6 campus in Akhetatan where you placed that Holy Site :(
I don't think he realises you get science adjacency from reefs :(
@@nevilleneville6518 Probably forgot or was trigger happy on the holy site. At least he has a +4 with the geotherm and other reef
Nice vid as always man! I am so happy you finally created a religion. Please go for a religious victory this time? PRAISE BE CTHULU!!
Hey Quill you always seem so pessimistic on getting era score, avoiding a dark age is only 20 points.
To me, having checked several of his campaigns out - it looks like it's because of experience. On deity level the AI tends to finish the second era (Classical) too fast.
@@jonnunn4196 I do get that, and Quill dose get results . He is playing his game. The AI setts a tough pace ... Im trying to encourage Quill to be open to risk and opportunity vs and admittedly working strat. losing games doesn't feel good and he needs to turn out videos . all factors. hunting early golden ages can be negative , or spring board for earlier snowballing. and i know the dark ages are not that bad.
This really brings to light the biases in this game. With Africa being empty aside from Egypt and the continent being way too small 😒
Earth with real life locations has never been balanced in any civ game than included it - Europe will always be too crowded, if the other African players don't get selected then Egypt will have it empty, if playing the Aztecs you sometimes only have one or two opponents in North America and nothing in South America. As to size - even on huge map size, the whole world has usually had too few tiles, perhaps it's due to performance (for the machine listed as recommended spec)
Just a suggestion, since you have most of africa to yourself why not rename your cities to its current geographical city.
Jesuit education probably worsts choice in your case, since you will never have enough faith to buy buildings for it.
Not sure why you think that. He's already got a couple of Holy Sites, Old God Obelisks in every city, he's building sphynxes.....on the other hand, I don't think he knows you can faith buy buildings with Valetta.
@@nevilleneville6518 It all nice and good, but he can buy with faith: Settlers, builders, Missionaries, Apostles, Guru, temples and now culture-building too?
