    I like the chip brush stippling and then smoothing it out. That’s a nice touch. I’d have liked to see a bit more red and perhaps the grout lines picked up a bit more. But this is good.

    I liked the white bricks stage and wonder how I would texture with with other colours and keep them white. Maybe different white hues? I have saved this. Brilliant techniques.

    I’d like to see this done in a German schmear technique with reddish brick background. This is what I’m going for. Do you have any issues with nicking of the “brick” or chipping?

    It's Serendipitous! I've been searching for a clear video on the steps to do this. Not sure about the 1/4" tape, maybe washi tape?? Others said to use painting tape, but never gave the width size... So wasn't sure what to do. Thanks for sharing this.

      Thank you so much! I haven’t tried washi tape. I’d love to see how your project turns out. 💖

      Hello! I don’t use oils much, but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work. Let me know how it goes! Happy Thanksgiving!

    Why not mix the different colors of paint separately with some of the compound? Save yourself a step.

    • @southernyankeedesigns1419
      @southernyankeedesigns1419  10 днів тому

      @@lifesmirage1343 Believe me, I’ve tried that. When you mix paint in joint compound, the color gets weird looking and it gets a lot lighter and doesn’t give the finish the dark, rich colors found in brick.

      @southernyankeedesigns1419 well bummer. Maybe add tint instead?

    Sherwin Williams sample quarts isn't quality paint. It's only barely usable as a primer .I was told this by the manager at Sherwin.

      Hi friend! I thought the same thing for years until I asked the manager at my Sherwin Williams what the difference was between the sample quart and a regular quart and he said (quietly), "none". He said that it was comparable to satin Super Paint. And by the time I use glazes and a top coat, the finish is very durable. I haven't had any issues in 25 years.🙂🙏
      I'm not sure what other companies use and by all means use what you are comfortable with. Thanks for your comment.❤❤

    It really does look like brick. It's ugly though.
