A little secret...sea salt spray on my hair is so drying, but what does work for my hair is epsom salt. Epsom salt is NOT salt, but a mineral...magnesium. As an epsom salt solution dries on your hair, it shrinks and increases curls and gives it a bit of texture, but it is not drying. You can buy a bag of epsom salt, put about a teaspoon in 8 oz warm water, shake to dissolve and spray. On the days when my hair is feeling too soft, which happens often, I use my epsom salt spray and it really helps texturize my hair and helps my weak waves pull up a bit.
OMG thank you so much for the tip. Tried the epsom salt this morning it does feel good on the hair , not drying. Did way more for me than sea salt and it absolutely did make those non complying sections of my hair and make them curly. I have a strip on each side of my head in the front that is almost straight but the epsom salt curled them right up. Thank you again!
I love that you talk about maintaining bleached hair! I was bleached blonde to my roots and when I decided to grow out my hair I embraced balayage as it grew out. I don't mind it, but at this point my natural hair is majority of my length and I MISS blonde ... There is nothing wrong with brown hair but my hair was blonde as a child and I feel like my features are better suited for it. THANK YOU!
I have very similar curls, my biggest problems are my hair holding the curl and frizz, which living Florida it's very humid. The frizz is a constant problem. Definitely going to check out these recommendations. Thank you so much.
My hair is more 2A / 2B with some 2C waves strands or sections throughout. I am new to wavy hair methods and embracing my natural texture. I am definitely going to give some of these products a try especially the sea salt spray!
I've only just begun my journey with the CGM. I've been using sulfate free and water soluble silicones in my shampoo/conditioners for several months after discovering that it was drying my hair out. My hair has become very healthy since then! I've slowly been finding that my hair has some waves too! I always thought my hair was straight and fluffy lol. They're probably still transitioning, but so far I've had relaxed 2a-2b waves! Thanks for the reviews on your supplies. I've been looking into different styling products to help hold my delicate waves since I move around a lot and they just fall and lose their definition.
Oh girl as someone who also has 2b-c waves you HAVE to get into mousse! Total game changer for me for volume and actually getting a cast. I’ve swapped my creams for mousse lately and have gotten awesome volume and definition. Must try!
Hey. :) How are you using it, what is your routine? Something like Mousse-Gel-Mousse? I have mousse at home and I tried a bit around, but I think I've done something wrong because my curls are not showing their best. Any tips? Greetings from Germany! :)
TheGermanDoll From Germany so cool! I have just been using a small amount of leave in and sometimes cream, then plopping for about 10 minutes while I get dressed, and then a really REALLY decent amount of mousse all over, then gel. I’ve just found the mousse has given me the ability to use enough product to create a cast without completely weighing my hair down. I think cream was just too heavy for me. I did find that I had to play around with the right amount. If I didn’t use enough my waves just fall flat. Also using mousse on refresh days has been a game changer as well! Try it out!
With summer coming I’ve been thinking about sea salt sprays. I’m so glad you mentioned it, I don’t see many curly girls talking about it. I’d love to see a quick video about how you use it and the results.
Love this video! My hair is very very similar to yours, with the wavy 2c-3a hair texture, and medium density, only my hair isn't color-treated, so I have med-low porosity (I think lol, finding out your porosity is hard). For me, the innersense gel isn't a hard hold gel! idk why. People are always saying that it's hard hold, but I get a light cast with it. It still styles my waves and curls pretty nicely. I get a lot of shine, and my hair ends up looking pretty. But idk I love hard hold lol. I use five-six pumps on dripping wet hair. I probably need to squeeze out excess water first. What would you suggest?
Tiffany Daniels I have low porosity hair that’s similar to yours and I only get a soft cast with this as well and then I get massive frizz after I scrunch out. Unfortunately I think it’s just our low porosity 😭😭
I squish out the excess water before I apply my gel, this helps me get a strong cast and reduces the amount of product I use. I wonder if the Aloe in the gel is making your hair react that way?
How long have you been on your journey? Did your hair go into barrel curls in the beginning? Your hair is amazing...I also have 2b 2c curls high porosity bleach highlights. I think I have spent a small fortune on products and like quite a few but my hair goes limp by day 2. I am going to try your method with LUS curly products and she how that rolls. Keep up the great work...so glad to see someone with wavy hair instead of type 3 or 4. 🙂
I've been on a healthy hair journey since December 2018, so about 16 months? No, my hair was very stringy and flat when I started. I was a bit heavy-handed in the beginning and I weighed my hair down pretty easily. It took a lot of practice with application to figure out what works for me :)
I always try to find truly natural products and have recently ordered Innersense. I also love Pure Haven hair products, have you ever tried them? I’d love to hear your thoughts on their hair line.
I think the Bounce Curl clump and Define cream doesn’t have a strong scent; it’s a light fragrance. FWIW, a cream that is highly scented is the TreLuxe cream. Oddly, there other products don’t smell perfume-ish. The TreLuxe gel is BOMB 💣!!!
Thank you for this video! Can you recommend something to take the place of DevaCurl's Wave Maker? I use a leave in and loved using the Wave Maker next but I need something to replace it. Thank you!
How do you use the Innersense I Create Waves? Wet or dry hair and how much do you use? I think I went overboard yesterday. I tried to refresh with it and ended up with hair that felt like straw and somehow went totally flat.
I only do a few spritzes on the parts of my hair that take longest to dry. It will dry your hair out very quickly, so as Ali mentioned, a little goes a long way.
I found moptop professional conditioner to be more rich than the lus and more slip. My hair loves protein too and I can't use it much lol so I have a 32 oz bottle that will last me a lifetime but it's literally the only thing I found that is more rich and more slip than the last deep conditioner and the 32 oz is same price as what like 12 oz of lus?
Hi! I have similar curly type as you and I’m having problem with the ends now that it`s long (a bit shorter than yours). Can you share how you take care of a long hair?
@@ksabetzadeh4136 she did a review video of her Deva Cut. As a 2b/c wavy myself, I also highly recommend them. I posted a comment in that video also, with a few additional recommendations for wavies.
I haven't tried the deep sea repair, but I really LOVE to add a few drops of the Neutral Protein Filler to the DCs I mentioned and let it sit on my hair for 5-10 minutes.
Hi CeciliaF, my hair loves protein too and I get great results from Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt Protein Power Treatment and from Palmer's Deep conditioning Proten Pack treatments.

Well it is a salt- chemically speaking 🙃 just a different one composed of different elements.
WOW! 💕Thank you so much for featuring us! We're honored to have made it to your favorites, Ali! ☺️
Of course! Love your products

Yes!!! I need more mousse in my life lol
Especially during the more humid months. Creams are only for cool weather! (@ least for my hair!)

Mousse doesn't seem to work for my hair. I get better results with light creams.

Thank you SO much for listing the products in the description! I’m never sure if I need to take notes!
Of course! Happy to hear it was helpful!
Do you have a video where you talk about how often you use the diff products i.e clarifying shampoo vs normal shampoo? Thanks!
YOUR HAIR ARE STUNNING !!!! Thank you for this video:) STAY SAFE
Just a note, LUS shampoo also has a mild sulfate in it.
Great to note! Thank you!

Hi Madison! Yes, the products are all listed our with hyperlinks in the caption ❤️
You’re such a beautiful girl. I’ve been inspired by your tutorials.
Fantastic video Ali, thank you!
Just a quick question: How often do you deep condition, and do you always add the protein drops to it?
Once a week

How do you use the Innersense I Create Waves? Wet or dry hair and how much do you use? I think I went overboard yesterday. I tried to refresh with it and ended up with hair that felt like straw and somehow went totally flat.
I lightly mist on damp or wet hair, focusing on my roots since I like the grit. A little goes a long way!

Have you tried RawCurls, Evolvh or Jessie Curl oh and Treluxe these are all amazing brands.
I have not yet! All on my list. Theres just so many out there lol
I think it is low porosity? It floats forever & I don't dye it & only diffuse on low heat.
Can I ask you what kind of haircut do you have? Like do you have layers?
Of course! I most recently got a devacut, but before that I would get a wet cut with layers starting just below my chin.
@@WavyCurlyAli Allright, thanks a lot :)
Was the Deva cut worth it? I have heard pros and cons. I have fine hair with 2b/2c and some 3a.

Have you tried the innersense oil?
i want to see how you use the cantu mousse
Good video ....thank you for sharing....
Do you get foils in your hair or pintura highlights?
I get a full balayage with face framing baby lights
Is there an app like Think Dirty but for curly girls? Where you scan the product and the app rates it?
