Great video. I am wondering if you tested the wires that connect to the motor. My wires are showing mah's fluctuating in voltage. Is that supposed to occur?. Because my bin works well for a while then it stutters trying to close. Batteries are showing 9.2 volts which is normal. I'm wondering what you would say about this. I know this is an old video. But thanks for Making it.

This looks identical to the Costco bin sold in the States. I watched a video on converting power from a battery to a DC converter. While the presenter started out using a 9 volt 1 amp DC converter, he recommended a 9 volt 2 amp converter. He said the 1 amp was raising and lowering to slow. In your video the 1 amp seemed to work fine. Do you have an opinion?

It shouldn’t be too quick to open but I think 1 amp is plenty, it’s just a motor controlled by the A1SHB. If it was 2 amps the batteries would go flat too quickly. It’s definitely 1 amp. And the voltage will control the speed

Hey Max, thank you for your video. I actually have a different problem though, my daughter accidentally kicked or got tripped on it then it started making a loud annoying noise when it's wide open, the sound is like 4 to 5 countinuous loud clicks. Could you help me figure it out please? 😅

It would be a mechanism issue, you’ll probably need to pull it apart and make sure all the stuff are in its place.

This is for those with experience fixing circuit boards. Question is it possible the moisture from the trash will rust out any circuit board.

Yes it’s possible, that’s why I recommend sealing boards with protective lacquer.

Hi Max, I have a similar trashcan with the same brand of open/shut mechanism. I accidentally got the insides whet and after I dried it with rice the mechanisme started acting up. Do you have any advice? It powers up with the batteries but when it tries to open the lid, it only opens it half way and then shuts it super fast, like it just lets it drop.

Probably motor and mechanism needs to be pulled apart and cleaned, then lubricated and reassembled.
