This is like purposefully going out of your way to create a problem, then going further out of your way to create a solution for that problem. But then that solution actually cause many more problems. Q make a whole system for a purpose, rock set the cherry bomb on the barrel and it will never break loose when taking off the suppressor. If you didn’t do that and it does break loose with the suppressor, then you just rocksett the whole stuck assembly to the barrel, let it settle, then you can take the suppressor off the cherry bomb. Also, if you should ever have to send in that trash panda to q for repair, you will void your warranty using those 1 or 2 port brakes. The cherry bomb is actually a genius idea as the perfect suppressor host, being a sacrificial blast baffle it kinda evenly disperses the muzzle blast so it won’t wear down your suppressors nearly as fast. Long story short, just use the cherry bomb, and use it CORRECTLY! You’ll never have any issues
I’m a 07/02 and a stocking dealer for Q products. I have installed more cherry bombs than I can count. It doesn’t matter if it’s a 90° or a sig/q tapered shoulder. If you clean the threads, install the recommended amount of rocksett and torque to spec, they will NOT come off with the can. I have ran a trash panda on machine guns for expos and even when they require a wrench to get off, they ain’t taking the muzzle device with them
I have to disagree, I have used rocksett and torque to what Q's spec calls for the cherry bomb and have used a Plan B mount for my Sico Chimera 300 on a host post sample gun and had done 3 mag dumps and left the gun to cool down the suppressor and cherry bomb came out together, I had to take the Plan B mount off from the suppressor then I had to take the cherry bomb from that out of it.
The real problem is how hot the barrel and these components get after a few mags. An adjustable wrench is your best friend if your suppressor gets stuck from the metals expanding
I’ve got the flash hider. It’s not gonna rival a surefire or kac 3 prong if that’s what you’re wondering. These are fairly small muzzle devices and even on 14.5 and 16” barrels you’ll get the occasional fireball every 3-4 rounds. And it’s still fairly bright compared to the other 3 prong options like surefire and kac. But… when paired with a suppressor they work great. The same q style plan b taper mounts, easy and simple qd for your cans and the flash performance with a fan is quite good.
I totally agree I'm switching too. However when you thread a Q plan B mount onto a Rearden muzzle device , does it wobble excessively , while trying to index the muzzle device threads to the mount threads? Once past that point ( being real careful not to cross thread) everything is fine.. The Cherry bomb doesn't do that. Easier to index.
Thanks for posting, I too have been thinking of switching out my Cherry Bombs as well and have been looking at various options. What’s the concussion like when shooting the Reardon brakes?
Wouldn’t say “no way” as it’s definitely happened before. Once to me personally on a honey badger. Torque’d to spec but didn’t use rockset. Figured the q barrel taper would work as advertised. Well one time it didn’t and it all came off. Wasn’t too terribly difficult to fix tbh but just annoying enough that wrench flats really would’ve helped haha. Since then just reinstalled with rockset. No further issues
QUESTION, my ARs compensator is not equipped to allow a suppressor to be attached, how or who can I send my upper receiver to that will modify my compensator to allow a suppressor to be attached. Hope this makes sense, thanks 👍
Nobody modifies comps, you will have to purchase a new designed to work with the suppressor you choose. Most suppressor companies have their own muzzle device that works with their suppressor.
if you torque the cherry bomb per its proper torque specs and hand tighten the suppressor, per its instructions, that should never happen. The only way this could occur is if you're applying a tapered muzzle device to a non-tapered barrel without a taper wring and without rocksett, which is not recommended. A downside to those wrench flats is that they add a 1/4 to 3/8th inch of space before your suppressor. Say goodbye to that seamless transition you tried so hard to achieve between your handguard and can.
Uh…not if you put it back on with some loctite or Rocksett on the barrel threads and set it set. Get a strap wrench, can heat up the suppressor with a heat gun as well.
@@derek3154 exactly my thoughts. Have had mine for about 2 years and had no problems. If it it gets stuck, likely the rock set is done.. get some rock set and reset it.. shouldn't even need a wrench if you didn't tighten it like a dummy in the first place..
The cherry bonm already has that. It’s a 3/8 nut head that’s at the back where the threads are. If you hnclacrew the can and the brake come off with it you have direct access to remove the brake with a 3/8 socket and wrench

That's what I though. Bummer... They look great brand new
Just wait for the suppressor to cool before removing it. It won’t take the brake with it

I run a Xeno, that avoids this issue altogether.

Yes

Why dont they just make the threads on the supressor left hand and the ones on the break right handed?
You shouldn’t ever tight your can on that tight it will take off the Cherry bomb
The xeno mount should solve this since its left hand threaded

The main benefit of Rearden MDs is not having to give Q any of your money.
