Our military should really consider this brand. Proven in combat.

Problem is it's to small for our military. We train for distance and abilities to ah give people long naps. Lighter, faster, longer blades are the choice we have, which reduces pack weight and overall carry weight. We don't need a bushcraft blade, or survival blade, we need a weapon pure and simple. Most guys do carry a secondary blade for other tasks, but this wouldn't work for us, and the lack of a guard is a major issue for what we're trained to do, a wet knife , force , speed, ends with hands sliding and hands being injuried. We need slicing and stabbing, with distance.
I own this knife and sell a bunch of bps knives. They are amazing blades especially for the price range. With that said, those are the sane reasons Ukraines military uses them, and they can be mass produced there, taking very little in ways of material and time to manufacture. This knife wasn't made by their military, it was made my bps and donated put of need for the soldiers and fighters, trust me Ukraine wouldn't have designed this for themselves, for the same reasons we wouldn't.
Two inches and the blades shape makes a huge difference, weight over miles and miles makes a difference. In Ukraine vehicles are being used to get from a to b, while most kf pur boys are traveling much further on foot and jumping from planes

Just got the Savage today. I took the handle scales off, you need a small metric allen wrench. And I found some rust under the scales, used sand paper and a sanding sponge to clean that off, then a good coating of mineral oil, then put the scales back on. Sheath was very tight, so put a good coat of mineral oil on it, then pushed the knife in. Now I have a nicely formed water proofed leather sheath.

Hint: Put the blade down into your tender. Then draw the ferro rod over the top. This will shower sparks down on the tender.
Also, force a patina on the blades, they are carbon steel and will rust.
Lastly, you can wet form the sheaths to the knives. These knives are great and will allow you to “play” at a really low cost entry point.

I put a good coat of boiled linseed oil on the sheath of the BS1FTS I just got. Water proofs the sheath and the leather stretched nicely to fit the knife all the way in as it is supposed to. Wet forming can cause rest on the blade, if your not careful.

I got mine last night. BPS B1 HRC is 59 to 60 1066 steel.
If you buy one like mine, can you see if the hardness rating makes a difference.
    Thanks,
    A new guy to knives.

I really like the adventurer. I got it because I really liked the setup with the firesteel.
I like finger grooves but my hands aren't large. So my hands tend to fit those handles well.
The adventurer is a great camping knife probably my absolute favorite.
    It's the perfect size.
I tend to take different knives depending on what I want to work on. But the adventurer stays in my pack.
My other carry is a sp5 or my cutless machete by kabar. That is a knife I recommend you give a try. It did amazing work when I lived in Florida. The size and its cutting ability made it perfect for the terrain.
    Anyway have a good one.
