I think if you use your video cam, you can review each run. And the instructor can comment. Instant feedback and instant improvement. Variability among instructors is huge. Some are awesome help. Some are just there killing time for their free pass and prestige.
Its so sad because for both ski and snowboarding lessons are super expensive but the actual instructors get paid peanuts. If you can ski with better people who are happy to help you out its a freebie way to becoming better. - 29 subs to go !!!
I don't mind teaching people, but to be honest, 90% of the people are just not physically fit enough to do what I ask them to do for more than 5 minutes.
I recently discovered Ski Maxx in Colorado Springs - which is a similar carpet skiing experience. It's like $50 per 45 minutes private lesson. They claim 5-10 minutes on the machine is the same as a full mountain run. I don't doubt it - I'm exhausted by the end of the lesson. I agree - I think this is the way to learn to ski. Not only do you get private instruction but also a great workout.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking into getting lessons this winter somewhere. I want private, but will probably buy group lessons in hopes that no one/few people sign up. Just a huge cost difference. Quick Question: Is it customary to Tip your ski instructor. We tipped in Vail years ago when we learned to ski, but wanted to double check.
What would be your advice on handling the steepness of double blacks? I am not a beginner and I like to carve low and fast, but I actually don't know how to ski really steep slopes slowly and safely.
Stay forward and pole plant. I think practicing jump turns can also be helpful. Also getting comfortable with moguls. I might not look great on steeps, but I sure can ski them slow :D
Group lessons are much cheaper and a lot of times there may only be 2 or 3 people in the group so it could be similar to a private lesson except at much lower cost.
Shout out to Taos. One of the best ski schools in the U.S. I try to do a ski week lesson there every year and I'm light years ahead of where I would normally be skill wise.
Lessons are expensive no matter where you go! Last time we had a lesson we split a full day private lesson between 4 people but it still ends up being about $150pp!
i taught myself with carv. learnt off piste on my own.
i did take private lessons at loveland few times.
I watched my mate learn using that, was very cool
How did you like the lessons at Loveland?
Lessons at my home mountain are like 40$ usd or 60$ can for an hour. I find it crazy seeing how pricy it is in the US. You're almost at 1000 subs ;)
Wow! Where is that?
@@angelinaoutside In Québec :) My home ski ressort is le Valinouet
Wow, you really ski all over. You're so lucky to live in colorado.
Yeah, coloradocamera is an extreme skier that skis all out, all day. Fun to watch

Better people don’t want to ski with me 😂
@@angelinaoutside Not gona lie this did make me laugh - Well you can always find better people on the slopes and follow their lines.

That sounds like a great deal!

Instructors get paid only a fraction of what we pay them, so the consensus seems to be to tip. It's a really crappy system.

I take 1 lesson a season. My last lesson was a mogul lesson at taos. I was crushing moguls after that.
nice! i need that. maybe at winter park.

Same, I try to get one on-mountain lesson per season. I've also recently discovered carpet skiing for off season.
where are the cheapest lessons for a brand new adult skier near Denver?
I would honestly just go to Snobahn if you are brand new. The only gear you need for that is long socks and it’s a comfortable environment to learn
Curious if anyone is interested in our smart ski goggles? With intercom, the ability to listen to music, take calls, etc.
Going on a cruise at the beginning of the season instead of being out on the slopes. For shame. 😂😆
Hahaha fair. I filmed this a couple weeks ago before a wedding so it didn’t really make a difference for the season.

Dang that’s a lot for 4 people!
Prices are out of control!!
Boot update plz

The lesson helps you skip long lines
