Years ago me and friends were fishing half way between Kingston on Thames and Teddington lock on the Thames and one of my friends was plumming the depth using a clip on plummet with a single maggot on the hook and caught a lovely carp of about 15 lbs, that would have been around 1977
Love your vids Adam the filming its just awsome . And been fisher 40plus years and never had a river carp . cant wait for the next one to come out 👍👍👍👍
mono hooklengths of 15lb take more damage than braid. braid is strongest when its perfect and undamaged. but the braid catches on things and comes apart easier.
The braid wins for no stretch, and a much lower diameter compared to breaking strain , I only use braid for lure fishing , where it has less chance of coming into contact with bottom structure, or sea fishing from a boat with a long heavy nylon rubbing leader. Great camera work and editing in the videos , on a par with some of the wildlife films made on a big budget with an entourage of crew.
The river where I fish has lots of carp upto 30 lb I've seen a ghosty aswell around 25 lb lower river derwent in the town people feed the birds on the river gardens the fish know this and line up for the seeds or bread that goes in the water
1st time i actually fished the avon had a 15 pound mirror in warwick also had 1 out the river lem outerskirts and one out the canal very lucky. Only lived there for 3 years
Remember carp are the elephants of the underwater savannah. Beaid with its fibrous surface, will catch more tightly than the snoothnrss and elasticity of mono in snags, with a powerfull fish. Very unforgiving
Plenty of carp in European rivers and could be introduced in our rivers as they don't breed or would they be called invasive species in our rivers not sure?
I also might of tried fishing for them straight away with just a bit of bait? You can always add it but you can’t take it out - I appreciate your a good angler though 👍👍
These videos just keep getting better..
Great videos, and the choice and use of music is spot on. So tranquil scanning the river thank you for sharing.
The filming is excellent Adam, close up of the dragon fly was amazing!

Seen a huge kaaap in Thames few weeks ago not far from Marlow.
Brilliant

Why be so far away from the rods all the time? Sit on the rods, and give yourself a better chance of stopping them getting into the reeds.
Wow! Looking forward to the next one!
River carp aren’t rarer than a 14+ barbel... loads in rivers these days with all the floods.
Well done though good Angling 👌

Rare ?????
needs a Nudity warning adam
Barbel is not even rare
did you watch the first 30 seconds and turn it off?
I would maybe have tried simple laying on with bread, meat or corn - I think baits they’d eat all the time ?
But great videos fella❤❤
Not criticing great video but I thought you wasn't supposed to be no more than 3 or4 metres from your rods
