I remember this episode and loved it so much. I remember thinking how lovely the kitchen was, but now the new kitchen is a dream. I came back here after watching your latest visit with Anna and Philip.
In this video we see the quiet, sensitive side of Philip. As he calmly stands with his arms folded or when he gazes admiringly at his amazing wife. Its an altogether new side of him. Love you both. You both are such Darlings. The mutual love is a treat to watch, and the adorable guest. Marvellous! Simply marvellous!! Your Chateau is a 'Labour of Love!!' Bravo!! Bravo!!
Anna, you shouldn't be embarrassed by the mess. It's what a lot of us enjoy seeing. The reality of what you start with, the hard work & the hours you put in to pull off the transformation. It's the process I like. It shows that little by little with perseverance, you can do anything. That can be applied to many things in life.
at 25:14 i just found it so adorable how Philipp was looking at Anna. There’s clearly a lot of love between them as he looked at her the entire time she was talking and seemed genuinely interested. I know it’s just a small thing but i just thought i’d point it out 🥰 it’s so nice to see
I was thinking along those lines too! Even a place to use the chamber pot and clean up a bit kind of the beginning of a water closet which turned into our modern bathroom.
Love the Chateau kind of mess !!! It is like fairy dust- has a story, history, and is shrouded in mystery ! Never mind showing us the mess EVER! we dig it!
Anna is afraid of being judged during the "behind the scenes" tour, and actually I did judge her. I find both her and Phillip to be gracious and talented, their home a splendid reflection of their many gifts. We are each of us capable of creating a messy space in our homes, but not many are able to achieve the magnificence that they have. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Afraid of being judged? This almost fragile slightly built young woman is beyond belief so talented just working in Paris as a designer must have been a kudos and she learnt well. The mother of two and what she and her really attractive husband have achieved not the least their mutual affection and respect is just pecious.Long may they reign.
So happy this popped up today! I feel as though Anna & Philipp are old friends, as I have followed their channel for awhile now. Thank you for this lovely tour!!
The british chateau network..all the new families ,friends and people of different nationalities coming together with they’re skills to create the french ambiance of this magnificent buildings. It incorporates my interests of decor, and antiques, decorative arts and the beautiful countryside ,little towns, and markets etc. I love a chateau.
I've been watching Anna and Phillips channel. They've been working hard, they are both two strong willed people. They some times have different opinions, Anna often wins, but then Phillip often reminds her that his way would have taken less time. But they'll be successful with all that determination. 😊
I LOVE how there is a budding chateau community in France, and you are kind of their matriarch :) This is just lovely - what a sweet couple, and how much they have done. THANK YOU for taking us into the "back rooms" -- I find them the most interesting. It's most fun to see the process, not just the final product. The process is what's inspiring to everyone. Great work!
Stephanie, I have to say, that you have a great ability to make people feel comfortable. You have such a natural talent for interviewing people and instantly find things, you have in common, and the precise subjects, that make the conversations flow very easyily. That is why it is such a joy, following all the adventures of the Chateau Diaries 🙂 And honestly, if I could just throw something out there... I think you would only benefit from hiring someone to help with the editing, so you would be able to do more vlogs a week. And at the same time it would give you more time to do things like this. Philips comment, about this being the new traveling programmes, and how you started the Chateau genre, made me think.. You have so many fun ideas for vlogs, and even series. The only obstacle, is that you are somewhat limited by "Editing Stephanie", and all the time spent on that. Imagine, if you just had to get ideas for vlogs, and then - go film. Hand over the raw material, and done! Even if you just hired someone to do part of the work? I think you should consider it 🙂 I would happily watch Chateau diaries, 7 times a week 😁
The amount of progress and change Anna and Phillip have managed in (not quite) two years, is mind boggling. Such beautiful spaces and so interesting to see the historic bits.
We LOVE the cluttered unfinished spaces! Living life one expects to find clutter. It’s amazing at all they have accomplished. I hope they take precious TIME, to enjoy their children, & each other. Cute couple.
I love Phillips little giggles and commentary in the background whilst he's filming! Stephanie is so fortunate that even during this lockdown phase of life she has someone to share the load of filming so she can have a break and also so we can see her in the vlog!! Great teamwork and episode!!!💕😘
Oh what a fun introduction this has been. Such a lovely couple, with beautiful children and a truly beautiful property. I do hope you all become great friends and have many more adventures and collaborations together.
There's no disgrace in any mess when your revitalising history. The precision, style and allure Anna and Phillip create is breathtaking. So wonderful seeing you all together sharing stories and laughs. Heart warming... ❤🇦🇺
interesting to see how different this chateau is to Michael's and Stephanie's - so wonderful to see the different interpretations each owner brings to their homes. Thank you all for saving these incredible places. While I am more of a log cabin and bungalow style person, I feel a chateau tour starting to percolate.
Stephanie has such a knack for finding the interesting nuggets in any circumstance and for making people talk about their passions (i.e. Anna talking about the prints). Loved the tour. Anna & Philipp, do the attic for yourselves first! Holy moly what a beautiful place.
I’m thinking France’s tour board should be aware of the coming influx of visitors when we are all let out of our “lockdowns”. More and more places I really want to visit. Just bought a map and keeping track where all these Chateaus are located. Already planning!!!
I can totally relate to the perpetual project of owning an old house let alone owning a chateau. Our house was built in 1866 and there's still a lot of areas that needs to be done. I love Anna's design which is classic contemporary with a touch of those Maison Jansen accent tables. Love it. La Land has it's own flare of a fairy tale design which is Stephanie did an amazing job. At first I thought Stephanie has a back ground of interior designing until she mentioned from one of her vlog that she learn everything from reading with how to books.
Oh wow, that was wonderful. What a lovely couple for you to have as new friends Stephanie and I am so glad you stayed another night. Beautiful flowers and soup Marie and of course "your" Phillip is always so enjoyable.
I’m not sure if Stephanie’s and my last messages in the chat went through. Our chat was frozen for the last say 10 minutes! Thank you all for the lovely evening, speak to you on Tuesday ❤️
Hi Anna and Phillip, thank you for the tour of your beautiful home. In the “Rooms of Doom” first bedroom with the little door in the bed alcove, that little door was a modesty door and room. From what I understand, it was a little space and door for the Lady to get undressed and then to get into bed directly without her husband seeing her. In those days, everything was hidden. Thank you for sharing your home with us. All my love from Melbourne, Australia, Kerryn Colin-Thomé. 😘😘😘😘💕🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🥂🍾☕️🕊
Interesting! Just out of curiosity, is your second surname pronounced with the TH-sound or is the H silent? Is the accent over the E meant to be a long A sound? (I’m well used to people mispronouncing my surname with a hard G rather than a soft G.)
So interesting...when people who get a chateau in years past try and bring modernity to a place and then new owners decades later - strive to return it back the original features...thats life! Great vlog to enjoy - these people are so wonderful. So happy the Lalanders have hooked up with them. Generous and adds dimension to the Chateau Diaries.
I was halfway through before I came out of my trance enough to click the "LIKE" button! When the baby girls came downstairs to greet the visitors, I just about cried, they are so precious! How wonderful for them to grow up now in this magical setting, with parents who take on so much, (and don't kill each other XO) I especially love the "backstage" glimpses, because they are relatable and I can imagine myself taking those spaces on; the challenge of the un-done is irresistible, plus the as-is spaces have their own magical atmosphere and charm, even with pipes and wires and stains. Thank you for making and posting these, I feel the dedication and work that goes into this. Thank you!
It can be frustrating to wait for the TV viewing John. Our wedding was filmed in July and by the time we could show how it went it was nearly April of the next year. Our friends wondered if there really was a wedding 😂
I do not know what is More Endearing and Charming.... Philip, Anna /Family Or their Wonderful Chateau . Perhaps both Equally... meant to be together ~Beautiful Destiny💞
Lovely tour!!! Lovely people! Well done bringing this together Stephanie...what a great lady you are! You have truly improved many lives since you started sharing your life with us...thank you so much!
I love this Chateau very my style and the windows and light, but also love how each owner has a different style all lovely in the own way and their own stamp as they renovate
Haven't been watching 5his channel until today but Anna & Phillip have been on my watch list for sometime . So it I wonderful to see this Chateau tour for another restorers tour😍😍
I’ve never commented before. I just want you all to know how very much I love this channel. I feel that these are my soul mate friends! I’m renovating the 1840s Vermont Greek Revival farmhouse my parents bought in 1968. Nothing as stunning as a French Chateau. A little story: My parents were friends with a man from Paris. His family where bankers for centuries. They had a chateau for the summers. Everything was lost in WWII. He was in the French resistance during the war. He told the story of him and his group of young Nazi fighters being hold up in a barn with no food. They found a few bottles of red wine in the farmhouse. They went hunting for dinner. He said, in his beautiful Parisian accent, ‘ Red wine goes very well with cat.”
This vlog is so delicious and inspiring. Anna and Philipp are such a delightful couple and their chateau is gorgeous. Thank you for such a wonderful tour. I recently subscribed to their UA-cam channel and look forward to watching more vlogs from them. xoxo
Their kitchen has so much potential. I had the identical cast iron radiators in the first home we renovated! They did frustrate me at times when positioned along beautiful windows as I would have perfered a writing desk or a tufted french bench with a few lovely silk pillows. This was fun to watch 😊
So correct! I think that there ought to be another question for your medical check-up form. Do you smoke; do you drink; are you addicted to Chateau Diaries or others affiliated? No, No, YES!
I’ve seen 2 house tours with Stephanie ( my daughter’s name also) and it’s filling in the Covid years when I didn’t know what happened. On Chateau diy I saw Anna and Phillip going inside with family and babies. Since I’ve found blogs babies have been born, buildings are restored, like I recently saw Philip wrestling their huge stove in the finished kitchen. I enjoy it all so much, thank you all.
Missed the premiere but this was just as good......so many ideas and surprises......I looked at the plains of the chateau from 1907 and thought my Grandmere was 7 years old and in Paris about the age of that sweet little girl at the table❣️Really enjoyed this video❣️
What a lovely couple! I feel like we’ve all made new friends! Cozy servant’s apartment with view toward that magnificent Horsechestnut tree: it must be amazing in full bloom !

Stephanie you are so lovely how you introduce new people to the channel show casing their chateaus and putting them on the map for us all to enjoy. You are such a wonderful gracious lady 😍
I love the back stage look! It really brings to life the changes and also a greater appreciation of the renovations❤ Just beautiful! Maria is an artist with her just breathtaking flower arrangements. The are so romantic and airy❤❤
Absolutely LOVED that!! Smiled the whole time while watching...and even as I type this.... Stephanie, I adore you and the wonderful people you surround yourself with!!!!!
My son is stationed at the Navy base near Chicago. He said it's the most snow he's ever seen. He said it's up to his knees and he's been volunteering to shovel snow because that southern boy is fascinated! LOL
Wonderful to see the "Chateaux Folk" together. The tour is so interesting! The work Anna & Philipp have done is really impressive! The chateau is soooooo beautiful!! Love from Vermont
That was such fun! The perfect mix of hosts and guests. It is so nice to see a real community of new chateau owners getting together and sharing with viewers. It does my heart good to see these beautiful edifices reclaimed and loved again. ♥️
What a wonderful episode. It's so fun to see more of this gorgeous chateau and learn more of the lifestyle and its challenges. It's so fun to see the different vloggers get together.
This was such an honour to get a tour, absolutely fascinating, thank you so much. I'm also now convinced that Marie and Anna must share a DNA connection somewhere in their ancestry as they are so similar in their mannerisms and way they speak. It's uncanny.
I remember this episode and loved it so much. I remember thinking how lovely the kitchen was, but now the new kitchen is a dream. I came back here after watching your latest visit with Anna and Philip.

I remember Michael Pethrick calling the small door way beside the bed a ‘Modesty’ cupboard for the woman to change before bed away from the mans gaze
I was thinking along those lines too! Even a place to use the chamber pot and clean up a bit kind of the beginning of a water closet which turned into our modern bathroom.

If no one else has mentioned it, the film “Un Pont entre Deux Rèves” is available on DVD at Amazon under the English name The Bridge.
I just looked at the trailer. I guess the 2 guys are represented by the "deux reves". Funny how they translate titles sometimes.
