Great teaching video. One of the best casting net videos out there... I looked and searched. Hey where's your life jacket ??? One slip.. hit your head. And???
Im not going to beat a dead horse but yes need a life jacket I seen a man fishing he went to throw his anchor and might have been wrapped up in it and hit his head it knocked him out i was about 50yds away and got to him It happened so fast Everyone besafe Thanks chris for the videos
Chris I've had a failed neck surgery and compressed disc in my lower back throwing a net kills me lol. I have to go to my bait man Jamie K outdoors lol. Thanks for sharing
Jamie K Outdoors is a great place! They took great care of me while I was in town fishing there last year. They definitely know there stuff with bait!!!
The Targa is a great boat and fishes fine. The big differences are it won’t go into shallow water and when you stand close to the side they roll bad. Now on the other side if you fishing big lakes they handle big waves good. The pro-cats are much more stable and fish easier. They don’t get effected by the wind as bad either. Hope this helps.
I would say start with a 4 or 5 footer. You can practice in your yard, it gives your more of a idea what the net is actually doing. This is the way I learned how to throw one. Hope this helps.
Yeah you should be able to buy new parts for it off line. Those older abu reels are very simple which is what makes the one of the best reels to have. Just take pictures as you take it apart. And take your time.
Chris Souders You’re the master and I look up to you but check out one of my livestream you might enjoy it I try my best to make people smile and sometimes even laugh 😜 I call it the new way of fishing
Best bait out there a gift from the man upstairs
I just got a 6ft cast net two days ago. Watching you cast the net over and over really helps me learn how to throw it. Thanks Chris!
Awesome!! Make sure and go check out my how to videos on cast nets. They are more in depth.
You never know what treasures you'll find, until you start throwing the net!Great video as always buddy! God Bless!!!!🤗
So true!!! Thanks for watching
Hagan says: Don't forget your trolling motor remote. It's bad luck. lol

You make it look SOOO easy!
Lol 😂 yeah but I’m here to tell yeah it soooo hard!!!
I threw my net the same way you are here and it worked good for me
Awesome!! It is the easiest way I’ve found for myself to be consistent.
Wow! A spoonbill! Awesome!
That’s what I was saying to!!! Thanks for watching
That was cool a spoon who would ever thought
Yeah I couldn’t believe it
You make throwing that 10’ net look easy. I throw an 8’ and it’s hard enough.
Thank you. I actually think it’s easier for me to throw a 10 rather than a 6.

Wow scary story but you all are right!! It’s a bad habit I’ve got!!!
that way we can do some Q&A with you as your fishing and netting
Spoon bill is uncommon if don't mind where did that come from. And once again you show why you have been at top catfishing world love hard work.
That came from the Ohio River and thank you. Hard work normally always pays off!!
Looks like some good baits!!
Definitely! I love me some gizzards!!
Thats the only thing I use!
Hey Chris. I caught a spoonbill in the marina a couple weeks ago. First one I ever caught.
Really!!! That’s awesome! Hope your doing good!!
@@slungercatoutdoors not too bad, started fishing again a little bit.
That’s great to hear!
You need to get Damon to do a Chris Souders special discount on Xtreme tanks. I've outgrown my little Xtreme and need a bigger one!
Which tank are you thinking about going with? And have you checked out the build a tank option now.
From my measurements, a 35 will fit nicely in the front of my Procat 240. I like the build a tank option because I want the surface skimmer.
Thumbs up! Would like to see more cast net vids. Does live bait ever out fish cut bait??
Thank You and yes definitely when it comes to flatheads. Thanks for watching and I’ll try and get some more cast net videos out soon.
@@slungercatoutdoors How do I know when to fish cut bait vs. live?
Question for ya,Does the weight difference change the way you load and thriw it?
No I still do it the same way

How does the targa compare to something like your procat? How is the targe for catfishing? Thanks for the videos and info!

Are they any shad in barbousville lake
I honestly don’t know but I would recommend you get ahold of your local Biolgest and they can tell you for sure.
I throw a 10 ft ss-1000 5/8 1lb per foot itll wear ya down after a while. Great video chris
Thank You and that’s a good net as well!! Thanks for watching

nice spoonbill!
whats the biggest live bait you are allowed to use where u are?
That’s for sure and you can use as big as you want. As far as I know that is. Thanks for watching
what size net whould you say to get for some one just learning to use a net cris
I would say start with a 4 or 5 footer. You can practice in your yard, it gives your more of a idea what the net is actually doing. This is the way I learned how to throw one. Hope this helps.
Great question and I agree with Jbolin105 get a smaller one to start with and learn the basics and then get a bigger one. Thanks for watching
Bru. Have had abu 6601 CBS 17 yrs now. Need to replace my prawls any suggestions. Want to do it on my own. Great reels. Colorado.

Your welcome
@@slungercatoutdoors hey bru, what type of tackle utility boxes do you use and where can I buy them. Needing to upgrade. Thx
I was in this exact location last week and never caught a shad. But I'm not real good at throwing a net either.
Those 10ft mullet net can wear your arm out but you definitely get good bait
Yes they can!!! I actually got tennis elbow once from a long day of catching bait when I was on the Mississippi a few years ago. Lol 😆
Anglers that haven't throwred a net much don't realize how much work it is after several casts.
That’s for sure
If u could only get 1 net what would u recommend?
It would be a 10 ft 5/8 mesh gs1000 from Fitec
Thank u much
Thank You
do some live streams bud
I agree my friend
I agree I need to!! May see if I can’t get one set up soon for everyone.

I can’t wait do you catch your breath and catch some catfish again I can’t believe you can’t even throw in that without catching a catfish
I’d say you could catch some in there. There is a camp ground there and normally several people there fishing.
