I just bought the same car (color and F Sport), but the RWD variant and maroon seats. Went from a 2006 IS350 with 202K miles to this and I love love love it! Nice review.
It's slower than a 328i x drive, but has two more cylinders and 60 more horsepower. It's also quite possibly one of the ugliest cars ever made, only behind Lexus's other models and maybe the Pontiac Aztec.
The numbers of this car doesn't fare well with the C450 or 340i, the IS350 is plenty fast & smooth. It also remains the only car that uses dual injection, meaning that carbon buildup will never be an issue. Also I have to say after seeing one in person, this F-sport Blue is absolutely stunning.
Nick Karipidis The IS250 & most of its competitors with direct injection only has carbon buildup issues reported. VW & Audi 2.0T generally have a terrible reputation for this. I would check Google for specific model information.
You my friend...is the man! I've been looking for this info. Thank you. Having to cleaned up the carbon build up every 2 years would suck and get expensive.
I still don't know why most cars today ride higher on the front... Shouldn't it be the other way around? I've noticed that lately some manufacturers have been making it right and the car rides at the same height front and back... But that's just a few of them... Can someone answer this??
I am a Lexus fan for sure but kind of surprised that they have not went to turbo V6s like Infiniti has with the Q50. Nice car but feel the powertrains needs an update.
Not everyone loves turbos. Turbos have always been shortcut engineering. I have no doubt that eventually Toyota will turbocharge the V6, but I would rather have them engineer a great new V6 with high mileage reliability without turbos. This V6 is now reliable and plenty of shops can work on it. It has enough power 80 percent of the time. Turbos are great for those who lease because they have no long term worries.
Great point, i'm torn between a IS350 FSport, GS350 Fsport, all for the D4S Tech in the engines, vs the BMW 340i, but cleaning the carbon build up every 30k miles or so would suck.
I think Lexus should put the 8-Speed auto in more of their vehicles. I think it could use it in the IS in their AWD variants in their cars... but that's me from afar. How's your take?
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes The 8 speed in AWD Lexus cars are in the LS and RX, not sure in the LX and GX, their truck based SUVs.
Again, a brief yet informative review Steve! Personally I like the car but space is a little bit of issue. The new 2016 Lexus GS is what I prefer. It's one of my buy list option this year and would be a great help if you'll be able to review it.
Your comment shows a complete lack of knowledge of cars. 2016 Camry has the *2GR-FE* engine making 268 horsepower, the Lexus has a different, higher performing *2GR-FSE* engine making 306 horsepower. It also features dual injection, valve timing on exhaust cams and a higher compression ratio compared to the engine in the Camry... Please do some basic research before making an ignorant statement like that. That’s really embarrassing for you. Your upset because your a bum that will never be able to afford a Lexus.

Tony Icon congrats bro 🤙. Jealous of your 8spd trans.
IS350 F Sport yo the guy in the video said the car came with a 6 speed..
@@Juan-vn9fn The AWD model has a 6 speed, RWD gets the 8
cant not exactly and which one does this guy have? The awd which comes with a 6 speed and the guy above said 8spd
@@Juan-vn9fn This one is the AWD with the 6
This car has won many direct comparisons with the 3-series M-Sport models.
Not the most powerful car in the class, but it is dialed in. Fun car.

+Kev50027 Yes the Beemer can be driven faster except when it is getting towed to the dealer for repairs for the umpteenth time
+pedrof830 true lol
+pedrof830 😁 so very true. Been saying it for years, but there's no arguing with German fanboys.
+FinestInstinct Ikr!😂

I'm sorry my friend, but which model had problem with carbon buildup? I want to buy in Sweden

do you think that the IS200T will have the same problems
Nick Karipidis
Not an issue with the 200t models; they also feature Lexus D4S technology, indicating they have both port & direct injectors.

I have the same car in the same trim, very intoxicating to drive but she drinks gas like no tomorrow!

Carlos,
I agree with you. Lexus is known for high reliability, it will be a huge mistake if they lose that reputation.

Turbo is terrible for reliability

+Billy Sou They use the 6-speed in the AWD applications but I agree with you that the 8-speed with AI should be engineered for use here.
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes AI -- Aisin Industries?
Aisin has been a transmission maker for Toyota for years.

+Uno 1 Would love to get my hands on the new GS F...just saw it in person at NYIAS. Looks great!
Really great review ..
Can I ask if the is 350 f sport than the standard is 350 (not sport ) ????
Thank u very much😊
Can you put fater tires on this
Do this car share the same engine with the GS350? Thanks in advance.
Which would you rather have, this... or the new ASpec Acura SH-AWD? g-
Great review Steve, if I had the bread, this is the car I would get over Bmw, Merc or Caddy
+pedrof830 It's a solid machine.
Fast forward 3 years. Do you have one yet?
Does the bluetooth audio support multi-language metadata?
To bad the ecu is locked . I have never been able to consider Lexus because of this
Not anymore!
Atomic silver paint all the way
excellent review. as always.
+Buck Futter Thanks very much!
I love this car, but where is the 300t? Come on Lexus!
It's the IS200t, but only available in RWD. So goodbye and good riddance to the 2.5L V6.
Looks amazing but the engine looks slow :/
my dreme thanks steve
+قصر كنده Thanks for checking it out!
