Lol... I've started self loading 10g with 8 shot. Basically I just point it in the general direction and it hits everything... shooting doubles with one shot... no problem 😂👍
I've had both a Browning 525 and a Beretta 686 and I couldn't hit toffee with the browning, the Beretta fitted straight away, much smoother recoil also. Browning traded in after a month, been a Beretta user ever since, upgraded to the DT10 several years back and never needed or wanted to change.
Good lord, watching Lloyd shoot a Beretta sporter through gritted teeth was the best video I've seen for a while. And the winner should have been Miroku.
I have a 12 gauge silver pigeon 1 field model. My wife has a 20 gauge 725 browning sport. Both are very different guns in the way they feel, handle, and shoot. At 1k more, the Browning is the fancier gun. That said, I really like them both, but probably prefer the Baretta just slightly (and that could just be the difference in gauge and heft). I'm not an expert on these things, but I'm also extremely impressed by the fit and finish of the browning, and the quality of the wood.
Started shooting in my late 40s went on for years shooting like a blindfolded man with a succession of berretas then saw a TGS video on the miruko mk60 went straight out chopped my silver pigeon in for a mk60 which is I am reliably informed is basically the same as a browning 525 and have never looked back vast improvement
Jonny and Lloyd - subscribe to you both for a long time now, a truly great combination of talented shooters - Lloyd is the reason I own both an ATA Sporting and a Benelli Supersport Carbon semi - and I still love them both after 2+ years shooting them both 50/50. Which do I prefer to take out?? - 55 to 45 the Benelli - it might me slightly more if cartridge shells spitting out of a semi all over the place didn't happen and need cleaning up on every stand (woodland shoot area, with lots of ground brush) - but I still do really enjoy shooting the ridiculously under-priced and underrated ATA Sporting - cheers Guys for a great video - great banter - more please! 👍👍
About rolled out of my chair laughing at Lloyd's impersonation of himself mounting left handed. I tried switching to left for a while and felt exactly the same.
Quite enjoyable video. Many good points made. Eye dominance can be a bit difficult to overcome. I did use a "blinder" for my left ear while learning to shoot right hand while recovering from a chest injury. I did manage a 21 with a 20 gauge during that time. Sadly I've only managed a 23 on two occasions LH with a 12 gauge. Are there two different speeds for skeet there?
When I was first getting into shooting I was dead set on buying a 686 for my first gun resulting in being a "Beretta Man"....right up until I tried a Browning 525 which just felt and fitted me better. For most people I guess it comes down to off the peg gun fit first, which then turns into brand loyalty?
I’m not a Beretta fan had problems with two separate Berettas and there warranty is non existent they wanted to send me ejectors I’m not a gunsmith I will never buy a beretta again
I’m from York a majority beretta area and I now live in Wiltshire and I would say when I go to barbury shooting ground it’s a majority beretta area although I shoot better with a browning I prefer everything about the 686 but I’ve recently moved to a ceasar geurini summit which is in another league compared to the beretta
Another great collaboration between Jonny and Lloyd. By far the best on UA-cam and I subscribe to both. For the record I have a 695 but the best gun I ever picked up was an ancient battered Liege.
The Beretta! You can get extra barrels and have them fitted more easily than a Browning. You can get 28 gauge barrels to fit a 20 gauge frame and get 410 gauge barrels fitted to the 28 gauge frame. Cost about $1200 here in the US
Two of my O/U's are a Citori Cx and a 682 Gold E. I love them both, but they definitely feel MUCH different in the shooting. Impossible for me to say which I prefer.
The main difference between them is the weight between your hands. With the Browning the action is heavier and the (perceived) weight less in the stock and (particularly with fixed chokes) the barrels. the Beretta has a more even weight balance. Its not that one is wrong or one right, but that difference explains a lot of the personal preference.
Over the years I've shot American Trap with 3 different Browning Citoris. Tried a Beretta and at that time to me the action felt like a toy it was so small. Stayed with Browning. Once I held and shouldered a 725 Sporting Clays model I fell in love. The receiver is smaller than a standard Citori but feels solid and the gun points so well. I prefer mechanical triggers from shooting a Remington 3200 Special Trap model many years back. The Rem 3200 was a wonderfully comfortable design and I find the Browning 725 reminds me of that fit. I am left handed and had a laugh watching you guys.
Miroku MK38 Trap for everything for me for the last 6 years but I've had Berettas and Brownings since 1980. I just love long light barrels these days but I am very tempted by the 694 Sporter though and of course an SO if I had the money!
Now come on my friend , why are you even thinking of a b£$£&&%, there I go again can't even type that word , don't go down that road it will end tears and cash down the drain . the Miroku will outlast any b%$£%%&.

hi there ive had both shooting mirokus at the moment which are brownings i would say there both as good as each other you just need to get out and shoot them and get used to which ever you choose cheers mitch
I am just starting with clays. (I shoot pistol/revolver and rifle) and when I read about Berettas and Brownings I was like - Beretta camp all the way. I was looking at Browning like "what an old clunker with a hole in the bottom of the action. Also they say that for short guys Berettas are more suitable. Then I tried the 525 Trap at the range and boy - I love it. I also tried Berettas 682 Gold and...well i can shoot with it but...I still prefer the Browning. But I realized that it has a customized/shortened stock that fits me. Strangely it fliped me to the camp Browning. :D
I have 2 shotguns that are a 100% perfect fit for me. One is a 12 gauge Browning Citori Sporting Clays Lightning. The other is a Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon III combo gun in 410/28 gauge. Also have a 686 in 20 and 12 gauge both with adjustable comb stocks that need some fine tuning for fit. While very close to fitting they are off just a bit and I'm still experimenting with the cast on the combs. Anyhow I have 1 foot firmly in the Beretta Camp and one foot firmly in the Browning camp and that wont ever change because I will never sell those perfect fits.
I'm a browning user and have 3 Citoris. One simple factor got me into them. They build out of the box, high quality guns the fit really small shooters. The Beretta Vittorias are still almost 14" LOP but the Micro and Micro Midas guns from Citori are 13" LOP and can be made even less by simply replacing the butt pad with a thinner one.
Iv owned both sold the 686 after 8 months kept the 525 The berettas look better but for me the browning felt better and fitted properly Both guns are bombproof and a very good choice for anyone who wants one but it’s all about which one fits you
Another great vid, quick question though does the top lever on a beretta matter if it’s directly inline with the safety catch when closed compared to being slightly right of the safety catch when it’s a newer gun? Is this anything to worry about if directly inline? Will parts need replacing soon?
I picked up a Browning Citori 325 with 30" barrels in 12g two years ago. The shotgun is pure magic. Everyone who has shot it hits, including first time shooters.
My first gun in 2006 was a 13 year old Beretta 686. I was in awe of it and went from zero to zero plus. I wasn't fussed about brand at that point but then bought a Browning and my shooting improved no end. I have been with Browning ever since. Just recently I bought a new XS Pro after 6 years with an Ultra XTR. Fab!
Not sure about the car comparison. Most people, whether they shoot Beretta or Browning seem decent enough... however... most that drive either BMW or Audi seem to be tw@ts! 😁👍
Been shooting for the past 30 years I own both Beretta and Browning love them both the Beretta is a little more petite slender quicker on point as a bird gun,, Browning seems to work better for me on sporting clays range. Audi versus BMW.... sorry guys you can keep them both when it comes to bang for the buck I'll stick with my Cadillac.
This is very relevant to me at the moment. I've just started shooting. I had the chance to use both a miroku mk70 and beretta silver pigeon through the local club here. Liked the feeling of the miroku better but come time to buy one they were almost impossible to get locally. I tried out a browning citori which felt almost identical to the miroku so ended up buying that instead
Most Brownings are made in the same factory , at Miroku, in Japan. There are only a very few super high-end Belgian Brownings still being made (B15 etc.) They will feel very similar, many being made on the same tooling using the same metal, parts and wood.
About a year after buying and god knows how much on stock bending fitting etc and dental work on a cracked tooth, I found that brownings fit me better than my beretta 😔 Have I given up and sold it for a Browning? Nope.
What people don’t realise is that fit is paramount. You’d be very lucky to get a gun that fits exactly off the shelf. Better to go for an adjustable comb and alter the length of pull. Then whether it’s Barretta or Browning you will at least start to hit things.
Same situation here mate, I’ve got a 1999 Lanber sporting deluxe and actually really enjoy shooting it. Not bad for a shotty that a lot of people look down on.
Hi guys, great video, many thanks for that. I have quick question regarding the skeet shooting. What size of a barrel is better 71cm or 73 cm? If you could expand on it? Many thanks!!!
Beretta all day long, for the first 30 odd years I shot Browning and Miroku guns, they all shot well but were all rust buckets, they would rust on the way home if they got wet or sweaty finger marks in the summer, i have had a Beretta for 15 years and have given up cleaning it, it is still as shiney as the day I bought it, I managed to shoot out a Browning and a Miroku, no chance with a Beretta, better made, better steel and the parts on the most parts are interchangeable, Beretta are in a different class
I've shot both browning and Beretta and hands down I prefer the browning shotguns . I shot my first 100/100 in my first ever comp with a browning 525 game full and full .did upgrade to a new browning trap over the next year and I've still got that gun . A adjustable stock is a must on any modern gun as we put on weight and off over time .
Your last statement is so true, Im new to shooting and recently bought my first ever gun tried several different makes, the one I hit the most clays with I bought, was that technically the correct thing to do, no I guess but shooting is 75% in your head so the Browning 525 Sporter has it.... :-)
I brought my first gun just over a year ago a 686e having tried that and a browning I just found although both did fit me and I broke clays with both the beretta just felt better in my hands. A lot of it is mental, having confidence in your tools. If the gun feels good in your hands swings nicely and most importantly fits you then you shouldn’t have an issue. Although you do hear about new gun very occasionally syndrome where people who buy a new gun really like it the first few times they use it and can’t find fault as it’s brand new and looks pretty then when the novelty wears off they realise it doesn’t actually fit them that well and they made a mistake in buying it
I seem to remember in one of Lloyd's older vids he says he likes a big lump of a gun. Me too. Berettas (in my limited experience) feel very light and toy like to me. And he likes BMW over Audi too. The man is clearly a genius.
Had two Browning Citori's in the past and they were great! Found myself shotgun-less and needed something for sporting clays and skeet- liked the feel of a new Beretta 686 SP1 32" sporter so I bought it. What a lemon! The receiver and barrels are miss-aligned causing binding on closing and the receiver has a cleft on one inside edge where it hits the monoblock and the monoblock is all scratched and banged up on that side. The USA official Beretta warranty gunsmiths looked at it and said " nothing we can do- send it back to Beretta"! Beretta , of course, do not answer any of my emails or calls- I will NEVER buy Beretta again, their QC sucks right now. Not happy at all! Back to Browning ASAP!
The 525 vs 686 argument needs to be put to bed. Both guns are perfect for starting out. As they said, buy the one that fits. Simple as that. I’ve tried both, and the 686 feels better for me.
I have to agree that the browning is a better clay gun. I have owned both the beretta 686 silver Pigeon sporter and a 692 trap and i coudnt get on with either of them, The Browning 525 Ultra pro has a better sight plain to me.The Ceaser Guerini Summit DTS and invictus DTS are so far out in front of either of them.
I have both, shoot both, but prefer the Beretta, better looking, better shooting, never FTF/FTE. The Brownigns (all 6 bought new, half had problems). They are also boxy, heavy, and swing slow. Other than that they are as good as the Beretta's.
Japanese Brownings and Mirokus have always just felt “right” for me. I can shot okay with Berettas, but they just don’t point nor come up “right” on me. Chunky Brownings for a chunky bloke.
I tried to fit many guns I'm new at skeet it's weird but according to expert gun fit the only one that fit properly was a CZ canvasback for 600 Canadian so I bought it I hope was a good choice idk
Another great watch, but I love my browning.... and exactly it’s not the gun if your a good shoot you will hit anything with any gun... it’s a Long thing pointing at a target all the same 😂😂
Do y'all have the Browning Cynergy over there? They have an acclaimed great action but are dumb-ugly with the odd checkering on the pistol grip. Probably do well on the 'Continent' with that look.
I reckon the Browning and the Miroku are basically the difference between the BMW and the Mercedes. You think it’s the same sh*t, but the first morning you have to drive uphill in the snow and you realize you should have bought the Audi. Just get the Beretta ;)
Strikes me that this is where the manufacturers have us all bamboozled. The advice goes 1. Spend up to £1000, buy either a new Turkish or a second hand Browning/Beretta/Miroku, based on which fits you best ( And how do you know that? Because the man in the shop says so.) Just so you can see if you like shooting 2. You like shooting? Got a bit of a feel for it? Then trade up to a new Browning/Beretta/Miroku at £2k +/- (Why, because you'll definitely shoot better, with a newer, better gun sir!) 3. Getting the hang of it now are we? Then trade up to something more expensive, with better wood, and pretty drawing on the metal, because it costs more and you'll shoot better with it. 4. But to be really good, what you need is a Blaser, Perazzi, Krieghoff, because now you know what you are doing you will want to spec the gun you want, and make videos about it for youtube. At each step, you spend more., until you get to the point where you are talking to the guys at Longthorne about Celtic engraving whilst standing on their terribly strong barrels. *Not knocking either the gun trade, especially Ron's lanky cousin, or indeed those in a position to buy a decent gun and make videos for youtube Its all interesting, and manmaths makes it all affordable Or of course, ignore all that buy a Baikal, shoot at things and fix fences with it.
@@tgsoutdoors What if, instead of changing guns on a whim, the big manufacturers products were modular. Get fitted for a beretta or browning, decide which you want. Buy the right stock from them. (They could do them short, average and tall spec) Get an adjustabe comb. Then buy barrels to suit your shooting. Is today a skeet day? Take the short barrels, is it sporting? 30", Trap? Want a high rib? There you go. All based on one action, just lots of options. Barrels slip on and off easily enough.
Well, i have just one year experience with guns. Bought my browning one year ago. I am very happy with it but i wish i knew some things back then.... For new shooters on limited budget, here are my two cents!: Dont buy a new gun ! Loads of used 686s, 525s or whatever out there for sale. Get one with the barrels you want. Remove the stock, make a new, fitted one and enjoy your new super gun with a cost just a bit more than a new gun! Dont get lost choosing between the brands caesar , browning, beretta etc. They dont matter if they come with their generic "fit all" stocks. Get a reliable used gun and get a custom stock
I have both and have shot each 10s of thousands of times. Ive had problems with the Browning and had to send it back for repairs. The Beretta has worked flawlessly and I believe it is better designed and built. BUT, the Browning shoots exactly where it’s supposed to and the Beretta does not. Both barrels shoot 4-5” low and one shoots 3-4” left. Beretta considers this acceptable. THAT is why I’ll never buy another Beretta.
Men you are jenius i beleve the same.. Brownings point of impact of barells are excellend berettas guns are more beaudy but shoots shit under barrel shoots 15 20 cm low
Neat video. As a righty who is only slightly left eye dominant I totally sympathized with your struggles trying to shoot with your non dominant side. You can actually feel your vision ping pong back and forth. I shoot lefty, but the struggle is real.
And the winner is Miroku, an mk38 sport or mk10 sport, better guns than a 525, last a lifetime and are cheaper than both, 686 for me is overpriced for a grade 1 packet gun
Id like a browning citori, but For some reason the only citori's the gunshops stock around me are the $8000 models... Like bro if imma spend 8G's on a Shotgun, its not gonna be a re-branded miroku
@@tgsoutdoors naw its gotta be an impulse buy. I want to just see it and not think about it. If I stew on it while I wait 3-4 weeks, ill have thought of a reason why I don't need it or watched too many videos on youtube about it

@Monti Dell interesting. Thanks for the reply.
Agreed. A shooter can shoot anything. This is partly why kids dont smash clays in the UK. Grab a shotgun and smash it.

Most Brownings are made in the same factory , at Miroku, in Japan. There are only a very few super high-end Belgian Brownings still being made (B15 etc.) They will feel very similar, many being made on the same tooling using the same metal, parts and wood.
About a year after buying and god knows how much on stock bending fitting etc and dental work on a cracked tooth, I found that brownings fit me better than my beretta 😔
Have I given up and sold it for a Browning? Nope.
I have the same feeling when i pick up a Browning it just feels right, and Beretta not quite as much.
What were all those shooting eye aids mentioned around 9:30?? I close my left eye, mount right side but want to start shooting both eyes open.
What people don’t realise is that fit is paramount. You’d be very lucky to get a gun that fits exactly off the shelf. Better to go for an adjustable comb and alter the length of pull. Then whether it’s Barretta or Browning you will at least start to hit things.
I've got an old lanber and I hit more Clay's than my mate's with browning and berettas it's not the gun its the eye behind it
Same situation here mate, I’ve got a 1999 Lanber sporting deluxe and actually really enjoy shooting it. Not bad for a shotty that a lot of people look down on.
Love the Silver Pigeons, my son has one. Citori CX just fit me way better. Go with what fits. Can’t go wrong with either brand.
Hi guys, great video, many thanks for that. I have quick question regarding the skeet shooting. What size of a barrel is better 71cm or 73 cm? If you could expand on it? Many thanks!!!
Beretta all day long, for the first 30 odd years I shot Browning and Miroku guns, they all shot well but were all rust buckets, they would rust on the way home if they got wet or sweaty finger marks in the summer, i have had a Beretta for 15 years and have given up cleaning it, it is still as shiney as the day I bought it, I managed to shoot out a Browning and a Miroku, no chance with a Beretta, better made, better steel and the parts on the most parts are interchangeable, Beretta are in a different class
i always enjoy your videos, straight to the point, keep up the good work! a big (beretta) fan from belgium.
Two the best english channel imo, TSC too
I've shot both browning and Beretta and hands down I prefer the browning shotguns .
I like both Beretta and Browning, and to me it's the Person Pulling the Trigger. I guess we all have personal Preferences.
Finally 2 legend together
The 525 vs 686 argument needs to be put to bed. Both guns are perfect for starting out. As they said, buy the one that fits. Simple as that. I’ve tried both, and the 686 feels better for me.
The Browning 725 ergonomically just fits me better. Mine just happens to shot better with Briley chokes.
Bought of you guy's you do nice show! Congratulations!
My two favorite Brits.
Is the Browning 525 game in this video with 28" barrels? Greetings from finland
Yes indeed
Quite simple, If you enjoy strictly, wear very tight jeans, and have size 7 feet then the Beretta is the gun for you !
Well I never watch strictly, have size 13 feet and I’m 6’4” and shoot a beretta 😂
I tried to fit many guns I'm new at skeet it's weird but according to expert gun fit the only one that fit properly was a CZ canvasback for 600 Canadian so I bought it I hope was a good choice idk
Another great watch, but I love my browning.... and exactly it’s not the gun if your a good shoot you will hit anything with any gun... it’s a
Long thing pointing at a target all the same 😂😂
Do y'all have the Browning Cynergy over there? They have an acclaimed great action but are dumb-ugly with the odd checkering on the pistol grip. Probably do well on the 'Continent' with that look.
I agree with Lloyd, I have a 525 and all my buddy’s shoot it they say it fits better than the 686
I reckon the Browning and the Miroku are basically the difference between the BMW and the Mercedes.
You think it’s the same sh*t, but the first morning you have to drive uphill in the snow and you realize you should have bought the Audi.
Just get the Beretta ;)
Strikes me that this is where the manufacturers have us all bamboozled.
The advice goes
1. Spend up to £1000, buy either a new Turkish or a second hand Browning/Beretta/Miroku, based on which fits you best ( And how do you know that? Because the man in the shop says so.) Just so you can see if you like shooting
2. You like shooting? Got a bit of a feel for it? Then trade up to a new Browning/Beretta/Miroku at £2k +/- (Why, because you'll definitely shoot better, with a newer, better gun sir!)
*Not knocking either the gun trade, especially Ron's lanky cousin, or indeed those in a position to buy a decent gun and make videos for youtube Its all interesting, and manmaths makes it all affordable
Or of course, ignore all that buy a Baikal, shoot at things and fix fences with it.
All I took away from that is that I need a Perazzi or Krieghoff 😂
@@tgsoutdoors What if, instead of changing guns on a whim, the big manufacturers products were modular.
Get fitted for a beretta or browning, decide which you want. Buy the right stock from them. (They could do them short, average and tall spec) Get an adjustabe comb.
Then buy barrels to suit your shooting.
Is today a skeet day? Take the short barrels, is it sporting? 30", Trap? Want a high rib? There you go.
All based on one action, just lots of options. Barrels slip on and off easily enough.
I’ve look at both when I starred 2 years ago and Browning win for myself.
So who win in your option Johnny & Lloyd ??
We agree
@@tgsoutdoors thanks a lot for your reply ! Your videos gave me the push to order an MR stock :-). Love your work, keep it up!
Beretta will fire any cartridge. get a batch of slightly hard primers and browning- miroku will do your head in.
I’ve been waiting for this for so long. I can’t wait to see this!
Edit: wasn’t disappointed. Superb!
Was great but unfortunate it wasn't a current production Browning. When did they quit making 525s?
525s are still made. In fact I’ve recently bought one, so if they are not still being made I will need to have a word with my local gun shop.
@@engineer6250 on Brownings site the 525 says discontinued
525 is still made for the U.K. at lease
@@mattdonaldson4439 noooooooooo. I just bought a 525 SL!
Browning all day long for me. By the way J.C do you have any Browning o/u 16 bores in stock at TGS at all? Great vid
"Browning- just get one of these"
Every time. they do exactly what it says on the tin.and hold for a better re-sale value should you decide to upgrade to B25 ...I wish
Neat video. As a righty who is only slightly left eye dominant I totally sympathized with your struggles trying to shoot with your non dominant side. You can actually feel your vision ping pong back and forth. I shoot lefty, but the struggle is real.
Ive got a BMW 4 series and a Beretta 687. Should I fear for my soul?
😂 only if you care about the judgements of Mr P
i think brownings are more reliable
Another good video, thanks guys!
Beretta - and it needs cleaning all the metal fittings are rusting .
“Browning. The best there is.” They didn’t lie.
And the winner is Miroku, an mk38 sport or mk10 sport, better guns than a 525, last a lifetime and are cheaper than both, 686 for me is overpriced for a grade 1 packet gun
I can't trust a guy that implied BMW is a good brand even if it may have been a joke!
Brownings handle like trucks, Berettas like sports cars. Both can get you there.
Id like a browning citori, but For some reason the only citori's the gunshops stock around me are the $8000 models... Like bro if imma spend 8G's on a Shotgun, its not gonna be a re-branded miroku
I’m sure they could Order you one in?
@@tgsoutdoors naw its gotta be an impulse buy. I want to just see it and not think about it. If I stew on it while I wait 3-4 weeks, ill have thought of a reason why I don't need it or watched too many videos on youtube about it
If it helps Lloyd's hold point is far out for skeet (but indicative of a sporting shooter).
Where can i buy those camel trousers and that shooting vest ???
The best Browning is a Miroku.
The best Beretta is a Lambretta.
That's a scientific fact.
