Hey Jen,I loved the video. perfect timing as I am putting my broad beans into the garden later today. I only have one variety called agua dulce. Corks are an added stroke of genius darling! 💚
Oh nooooooooo! Sorry to hear that. Might it be worth getting a few plants from a garden centre and cheating a bit?! Perhaps you’ve got enough other things growing already xxx
Well first off Denis, I am extremely jealous that your BB’s are cropping already. You lucky thing!! These are so many things you can do with them. The whole plant is edible too just to give you even more edible deliciousness! Obviously pest free and washed. I love to eat them raw straight from the pod but if that doesn’t take your fancy, they are good for making dips. I did do a broad bean hummus recipe on Joes channel last year. Incorporate them in to salads raw or cooked, use them in risottos and pasta dishes. They are very easy to freeze as well - just blanch them if you intend to leave them in the freezer for longer than about 6 weeks. When I have a crop I will definitely do some recipes on the channel. One more thing if you let the beans get too big they begin to loose flavour and get tough so try and use them small to mid size. You can of course just cook them for a couple of minutes - some people would remove the outer skin too. It’s all personal preference. Let me know what you do with them Denis xxx

it's so windy here on the Isle Of Lewis i can only grow dwarf varieties and then only in a sheltered spot
It’s a real problem isn’t it Sue. I hadn’t really considered that windy gardens would suffer so badly until now xxx

Ah thanks Denis, I’ll reply in the morning with a proper long message. Just off to bed xxx
